Friendly, organized and trustworthy
5/5

Dear fellow travelers,
I am this review from my heart for the very first time. When my husband asked me to travel to Tanzania and Zanzibar, I was super excited. We planned our 9 day trip in the month of April. We did research on google, YouTube and lonely planet. We spoke with few friends as well. We are frequent travelers so we were quite sure that we will plan our trip by ourself. But to my surprise it wasn’t the case. The more I was doing my research about trip, I got to know that I will need somebody to help me with safari and also to book accommodation at the right place. So I start contacting various tour operators to know what they can offer and how they can plan itinerary for my family of 3 (2 adult and 1 child).
Frank from Serengeti Clarity was the best person that we were looking for. He was the only person who understood our dietary requirements (vegetarian), budget and travel logistics (domestic flights).
We got all our answers promptly which was reassuring. We started from Zanzibar and then took domestic flight for Arusha. Later in Tanzania we went to Tarangire National park, Serengeti NP, Ngorongoro crater, Hadjabe tribe, Datoga tribe, Masai tribe and finished with a day trek on Mount Kilimanjaro.
We can’t thank enough and praise our guide Kevin’s driving across the muddy roads and his knowledge about animal kingdom. He was always ready to help and tried his level best to show us all big 5s and much more. We had great Funtime together which we will always cherish.

We always had good vegetarian food which we requested.
We felt very safe and happy during our entire trip. People were always very welcoming and polite.

We will recommend Serengeti Clarity to our friends and family members. We will come back again soon to touch the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Asante Sana (Thank you)

I highly recommend Meektrails & Jasan Warui for your safari
5/5

My wife, two teenage sons, and I had an incredible 6 day safari with Meektrails. It was a great value and jam packed with experiences built into the package. Be prepared to rough it!

Additionally, I can’t say enough about our personal driver/guide Jasan Warui. He’s an amazing guide, and even better person. He took very good care of us, and if you request him you won’t be sorry!

Redefining African Experience!
5/5

Trip number 2! We trust Newton and Mathew with our first trip to Africa in June 2022 with a Safari experience across Kenya, this time we returned as Newlyweds with a Bateleur Eagles Safari booked and organised trip to Zanzibar.

They matched our needs (knowing us well by this point!) with a local guide for a tour of Stone Town and then transfer to our resort. Our guide was really helpful and even took the time out to find us a baobab tree to visit which was on my bucket list!

We made some changes to our schedule after deciding one thing was a bit “tourist trap” and everything was swiftly changed without a murmur.

Making memories is their specialty.

“The Black Leopard” 3rd time booking, only gets better and better.
5/5

Where to start? We can’t thank Newton, Mathew and their team enough. After two bookings before with my (now) wife. I set them their biggest challenge yet!

After a failed trip to South Africa with my Mum in 2020 (some thing called Covid). We thought this trip wouldn’t happen.

We messaged the Bateleur team in early November who quickly collated a highly bespoke schedule to our exact requests.

It took a little while to confirm our side, and the various lodges / camps availability had changed. With a long list of questions from me (I would say us but I’d be lying!), the team managed to completely rejig our schedule and delivery our dream trip.

Starting in Nairobi we headed North to Samburu, but not before a surprise. We had asked if Jack the incredibly knowledgeable guide from my first visit to Kenya was available. We’d been informed he had some family matters and our guide would be Anthony. The team had arranged for Jack to be with us, but kept it a secret until the departure… from both of us! It’s not often that I’m speechless! And we were off to Samburu, catching up all the way.

We asked to dive off the road to sample the Dragonfruit and Mangoes grown and then sold along the edge. Jack picked the right place where we managed to interact with the locals as if we were local ourselves.

We enjoyed 3 nights in Samburu, watching leopard, elephants, lions and an unbelievable 360 degree sighting of a lazy cheetah.

We left for Laikipia, but dropped in by our guides childhood school in the foothills of Mount Kenya. My Mum is a teacher and wanted to see how children were taught in Kenya. Jack arranged for us to sit in on a Maths lesson and have a tour of the school.

We spent a few nights looking for leopards again (with luck!) and Striped Hyena / Wild Dogs (with no luck this time). But the show was stolen by an encounter with Giza, the now infamous black leopard of Laikipia. A true bucket list experience. We then spent the last morning tracking Kisiwa, the large local male leopard before our paths crossed on one of the tracks when heading back to camp.

We finished off with a couple of nights in Lewa, a real haven of Rhinos. So hard to find in so many places, we even managed to find a handful of Black Rhino.

We rounded our trip off with a meal at Carnivore with Mathew, Newton and Jack - dawa’s all round. And if it’s your Birthday possibly a surprise song…

Jack, assisted by Alex in Lewa, and the team live off making the dreams of their guests come true. They have a high level of expertise, but are also really open and accommodating to people specific (and often demanding!) requests.

You can never see everything, but the Bateluer Eagles Safari will get you as close as it’s possible to get.

We might not be able to get back soon, but we will be back.

Nice trip
5/5

Overall good trip, with a very nice and well-planned day-to-day itinerary where we got to see all we wanted to see over the three-day period. Also booked great places to stay all nights, with excellent value for money.

Very responsive tour organiser who always responded quickly whenever we had any questions.

Excellent travel Agency, wonderful experience
5/5

I had one of the most wonderful experiences in my life. Patrick from Mmilo Tours arranged an unforgettable trip for me and my family to Pretoria and Kruger National Park. Patrick’s is a great professional and person, he arranged every detail of my trip (picking us at the airport, transportation to the hotel, tours to the best sanctuaries in Pretoria, he assigned us a very experienced and respectful guide for the 2 days in Pretoria, transportation back to the airport to go to Kruger)
We had another transportation waiting for us at the Nelspruit Airport to go to the park. The Shishangeni Lodge was beautiful, we even enjoyed the pool in our free time. The safaris were great, we saw all the animals even lots of lions!

Patrick is a great person and very professional. He offered me lots of options. He was also very patience with all my questions.

The whole experience was better than I expected.

Above and Beyond Experience, Service
5/5

We compared notes with other travelers who were staying at the Selous Safari Lodge but were not using Plex as their guide company. And quickly discovered that we not only had the best guide (Michael) for safari but the most smooth experience with the coordination of travel and payments of anyone else. And after looking up who some of the others used, I think we paid a lot less, too!

We had an easy transfer from our Zanzibar hotel to the airport, and our guide was waiting for us when we landed. Our safari experience (2 days in the Jeep, a water safari on the river, and a walking safari and Masai visit) yielded so much--all the animal encounters we could ask for (including a close view of a napping lioness), but more importantly an incredible education. I am a Native American (Ojibwe Nation) and could not have been more thrilled with all of the knowledge that was so freely shared, regarding how the people in this area continue their sustainable agricultural and medicinal practices.

Selous Safari Lodge was amazing. Again, you're way, way far away from an urban center. The entire country struggles with consistent electricity supply. They have a generator but when the grid is on/off/on in minutes, it doesn't kick in. And sometimes generators fail. The little cottages are built to be as comfortable as possible without any electricity. If you absolutely have to have air con on all the time, pretty much anywhere close to the animal action isn't going to be able to provide that, so don't blame the lodge. We loved the food, and they were very accommodating with my food allergies, to the point of preparing a whole separate meal for me one night! Yes, we had to relocate a spider and a couple of frogs because of the way the exterior doors are designed, but it was not a big deal. If you have trouble with the very idea of a spider, traveling in east Africa is probably not for you, anyway. Compared to other lodging options so close to the park, Selous Safari Lodge, with it's pool and top-notch service, was a luxury experience.

Since we were not heading back to Zanzibar but on to Nairobi, Kenya, we ended up flying into Dar Es Salaam. However, the way the flight schedules worked, we had almost an entire day there. Edward at Plex arranged for us to have one of his safari guides, Franklin, take us around the city (he was born and raised there and happened to be in the office). Franklin gave us a day we will NEVER forget, especially the tour meal at the harbor fish market. He didn't shy away from showing us both the wonderful ingenuity and hard work of Tanzanians, and the struggles of the people living in the city.

My husband and I have been all over the world. We cannot thank Plex Africa Safaris enough for making our "bucket list" trip to Tanzania our most memorable and enjoyable trip ever (so far). If we have the ability to return to the region, we will definitely be using Plex again.

Until next time!
5/5

Our first safari trip ever! LJE did an amazing job with organizing our safari and their responsiveness before the trip was reassuring. They ensured that we were well prepared and informed about our safari and their personalized service was much appreciated. Our safari guide was well informed about Tanzania’s beautiful attractions which made our safari more enjoyable. Our family had specific lodging requests and LJE was very accommodating. We were not only comfortable but also enjoyed their selection of lodges. The itinerary curated by LJE ensured we experienced the best of each destination, and we could not be any more grateful. Our family is thinking of coming back next year during the great migration in the Serengeti.

About: Kenya
A dream come true
Overall rating
5/5

The title sums up our Safari trip. We honestly could not have imagined a better Safari trip. Dan, our tour guide, honestly made the trip by being so knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. He spoke to us about Kenya as a country, explained the history and local life of villages and towns as we drive through them and really gave us a sense of what Kenya is.
The safari its self was honestly breath taking. We saw all of the big 5 and were lucky enough to see 4 of those 5 on our first 2 hour game drive. We had moments of pure tranquility in which we were parked up amongst a heard of elephants, watching them interact with one another and eat. We also experienced a pack of lions waking up from their night sleep and walking casually around us. I can’t express how amazing all of this was.
We stayed in fabulous accommodation (The Mara maisha camp and the sopa lodge) in which the food was outstanding along with the cleanliness, comfort and facilities that were all offered to us. We felt safe at all times.
I can’t express how amazing Dan our tour guide was. He really did make the trip for us!!
I highly recommend Kenya, Mufasa tours and Dan for your Safari!!
