About: Madagascar
Great place for close ecounters with wildlife
Overall rating
4/5

We had a 8 days trip to Madagascar in November 2019. We spend the time on east cost of the island - Andasibe & Palmarium Reserve. The wildlife was very good - lemurs are close and provide excelent opportunites for photography. Birds in Andasibe were good and approachable, a bit worse in Palmarium (very few visible). We used Assiten Travel and the service was excelent - very good accomodations, great driver, food and transportation.
Mine key target was to photograph lemurs and I am very happy with the results :).

About: Tanzania
No problem at all, every part of the trip is good.
Overall rating
5/5

My wife Fei and I went to Tanzania at end of August till Mid of September.

First, We Climbed the Kilimanjaro mountain using Lemosho Route 8 days. The weather on these days are good, no rain at all. We live in the tents and has our own private toilet. we can see the monkey in Low attitute area. Both Romly and Dennis are very Professional. The porters, the waiter and cook are all nice and helpful. I will suggest to other people climbing the mountain with Romly and Dennis team. I carry nothing during the summit day, two guides carried every part of my equipment and water ect. without them it will be nealy imposibble to get to the Uhuru Peak. The suggested tip is around 300 till 400USD per trip. I thought it is really small amount for 13 people team to share, I decide to tip them more for hard working. The Summit day is really hard, We left around 11:30PM and made to the top Uhuru Peak around 6:45AM.

Second, the safari. Jerry is profesional guide. Savannah explorer arrange everything really well. The Hotel we live is really good. The weather in September is dry season, no rain at all. We saw the Lions, Leopard, Servals, hippos. we live in Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, quite nice hotel to live. We live in Maramboi Tented camp, nice hotel and the View at Swimming pool area at sunset area is really really nice. For the middle Serengeti, We live in Four season Hotel. it is a must stay hotel for us. The elephant came every day to drink water at swimming pool area is a life time memory. For the northern Serengeti, We live Kenzeni Luxury Camp. The staff there is good and helpful. The wildbreast crossing the Mara river in Northern Serengeti is also a life time memory for us. We also live two nignts at the Retreat at Ngorongoro. it is a nice hotel with beautiful Garden.

Overall, Savannah Explorer arrange the trip really well. I contacted 3 companies via safaribooking. The other two companies are good, but Albert in Savannah Explorer is better. He reply the email quick and I can get every informaion I need from his reply. The Jeep in Safari is nice, and Jerry clean the Jeep everyday.

Amazing Safari and Kili climb!
5/5

From the moment we contacted Amani Afrika they were fantastic! Vivian helped us plan our dream trip to Africa and every detail was covered! We started with gorilla trekking in Uganda where we stayed at a great lodge in the Impenetrable Forest. The gorilla experience itself was absolutely breathtaking. We then flew to Tanzania where we started by climbing Kilimanjaro. Our guide Paul was quite simply the best and we could not have done it without him and his excellent team. Paul has been climbing kili for 13 years and took time to explain Amani treats their porters well including providing them with 3 meals a day. We were shocked to find out that some tour companies only provide their porters with one meal a day, so the porters carry a loaf of bread with them for their other 2 meals! For that fact alone we were happy we went with Amani. We were also shocked at how well they fed us the entire climb! We've never eaten so well on a camping trip before. Summit night freezing weather rolled in but we all still made it to Uhuru Peak thanks to our great guides! After our successful climb we went on safari in Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro and it was nothing short of amazing. We saw the biggest variety of animals, the highest number of animals, and got the closest to animals by far compared to any other safari we did in Africa. (We visited Zimbabwe and South Africa after Tanzania and we all agreed this was our favorite!) Our guide Wilson was knowledgeable and fun and the lodging they booked for us was all beautiful, especially the tent camp in the Serengeti! I would 100% recommend Amani Afrika to anyone planning a safari or kili climb!

Amazing Masai Mara weekend
5/5

Our weekend Safari in Masai Mara was the best weekend of our lives. Chris helped shape it to our needs and flying there was the best use of our short time available. Paul met us off the plane and gave us the most incredible two days of game drives. We often found animals before anybody else and couldn’t believe how close the got to us in the van. We could have reached out and stroked a Lion twice and had a Leopard sleep under the van! Thanks so much to Paul and Chris. We would 100% use them next time.

Incredible vacation with our Big Five friends!
5/5

We had a terrific honeymoon, everything was organised for us so we could just relax and enjoy the great views, food and animals offcourse.
All accommodations were very well selected, all comfort we needed was there and the food was really good. Our ranger and travel guide Yuda was amazing, every evening he asked us when we would like to leave for the next game drive the next day so if we wanted we could sleep longer. He’s not only a great driver who‘s experienced in finding the right spot to see all animals you like but he also knows a lot about the culture and history so if you have questions just ask him. Thanks again to Yuda for making our life experience even more perfect then we could imagine, we wil never forget our close encounter with the elephant and the fact the big five is marked on our bucket list! Hope to meet you again soon. Greetings from Belgium!

Makario Safaris provided us a warm, thoughtful, safe extraordinary experience.
5/5

Makario Safaris provided us an itinerary and an experience that was thoughtful for our group of 5 and it exceeded our expectations. We were greeted from the start and ushered through our itinerary with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our driver,Peter, was very personable and a perfect host. He gave us information about the country, kindly kept us on schedule and helped us find certain unscheduled shopping places for first aid supplies etc. We all became quite attached to him. The hotels we stayed in (Serena Hotel in Kigali and Virunga Lodge) were perfect and wonderful and we had smooth and fascinating treks to the Mountain Gorillas and the Golden Monkeys. I would love to do it all over again and I would not hesitate to use Makario Safaris again.

Excellent short trip with Gecko safaris Africa
5/5

We must've exhausted Monica with our scores of emails – she patiently answered everything and even met us at the airport to pay second half of trip fees. Wire transfer took weeks to process so don't panic! Our fantastic driver and guide – Jesse who waited for us at the airport although our flight delayed. honestly, there was nothing we could've asked for more - stops for pics, searches for specific gifts, and when we had a couple hours to kill they took us poolside to Hotel Rwanda in Kigali and picked up the lunch tab. The driving was very safe, the van downright plush and the accommodations at Bishops house the one of the most luxurious lodge in Kinigi (base for trekking at Volcano National Park) was superb. The trek itself defies words – but suffice to say it was magical. Rogers, our guide, was lovely and made the whole experience so memorable. Gecko safaris is highly recommended or such tours.
