Review about Tarangire National Park by Linda S
Overall rating
5/5

My favorite park - Tarangire is gorgeous, full of animals to see with minimum driving. Artificial ponds have been created to support the population of animals. This park has lots of Baobab trees, which the elephants love. So there is a high concentration of elephants in the park. We couldn't get tired of watching the babies and moms in the river. We also got tremendous photos of a cheetah, ostrich, zebras, gazelles. The Tarangire Safari Lodge provided very comfortable tents for us, as well as a gorgeous stone lodge holding a comfortable lounge area, restaurant, bar and outdoor patio overlooking a tremendous view. Food was buffet style and quite good at all meals.

An unforgettable tailor-made safari
5/5

My boyfriend and I are regular travelers to the southern part of Africa and this time we booked a «tailor-made » trip with Jewel of Africa Safaris. Even if we had many experiences in taking safaris tours, this one was really special, as we were on our own with Kobus, a native south African, with a lot of humor and passionate about his amazing country !

First the advice in organizing our trip was perfect and we made probably the most of our ten days, there. The places, he chose for us were great, charming, always adapted to our request and needs and the food was yummy. When we first arrived, we stayed in a comfortable hotel close to Pretoria, before heading to Panzi Bush Camp, a nice, charming and simple place in the bush, closer to Kruger Park. From there, we visited the neighborhood (blyde river canyon…) and also had an elephant-back tour that was a lot of fun.

We then spent a few nights in the really beautiful camp of Skukuza, in one of the best rondavel close to the river side. During the day, Kobus took us to “extensive” safaris, looking for wildlife, as I never can get enough of it! We’ve been lucky to see a lot, amongst them lions, hyenas, rhinos, elephants, hippos, pythons, loads of various birds and of course, warthogs, impalas, giraffes, zebras… Kobus was always ready to tell us a good story or answer any question about culture, fauna or anything else! One evening we took a special “sunrise tour” during which we spotted a python eating an impala… Woaw, that was something.

At last we spent a few days in a private bushcamp of the Timbavati reserve, Umlani. A very beautiful eco-camp very comfortable and again with passionate people, which made it really interesting! Following Kobus advice we booked a night in the tree house. A hut in the trees overhanging a waterhole… This was truly unforgettable!

Therefore, and for a lot more reason I did not take time to write down here, we are highly recommending Jewel of Africa Safaris for your next holidays to South Africa! It worth the money spent…

Review about Serengeti National Park by Linda S
Overall rating
5/5

We spent the night at :Embalakai Camp in the Serengeti, so we had 2 days to explore. The huge expanse of the park meant you might drive quite awhile before seeing animals. But, they are all there and the drivers communicate to bring tourists to the best viewing spots. We were thrilled with everything we saw: lions eating a zebra (and vultures waiting their turn); a leopard and two cubs in a tree; cheetah scanning for game close to the road; lots of antelope and gazelles; gorgeous birds, hundreds of zebra crossing the road - thousands of wildebeasts, etc. Given the size of the park, I felt two days was minimum.

I will choose Helina Safaris anytime any day for my travels anywhere in Kenya, excellent services!
5/5

From the warm reception to the fantastic and informative tour guides, I got myself another best friend in Helinas Safaris. They made my trip to the Maasai Mara feel so special by according tour guides who were funny, lively and very informative. Helinas literary took care of all my worries. It took so little effort from me to get so much joy from the trip thanks to the relentless efforts by Helinas Safaris. No words to describe you guys; like I promised, I'm bringing my crew for the Tsavo trip this May. Please be as kind. See you.

Review about Ngorongoro Crater by Linda S
Overall rating
4/5

The crater is well known for it's natural beauty and high concentration of animals available. As a result, it is the site of lots of day trippers. We got there early, but after 10am the roads were crowded with vehicles. When a lion was spotted, the drivers communicated with each other and everyone converged on the spot. We had dozens of vehicles parked in both directions trying to see the lions. It took forever before the vehicles sorted themselves out and moved on. The park really needs to limit the number of vehicles in the park or establish firm rules about how long a vehicle can remain in any one spot. This was the only park where we saw a rhino - from a distance.

Etosha trip with students
5/5

Over a long weekend, Blue Crane Safaris provided an excellent tour to Etosha for our group of 29 students and faculty from an American university. We camped for three nights in Etosha and saw an enormous number of animals, which was unusual for this time of year. The success of the journey was due to our excellent guides who provided all the camping gear, drove the vans and pointed out the wildlife. They also cooked all the meals, which I recommend, as this allowed us to spend more time at the waterhole near the campsite. This was the experience of a lifetime for everyone, and I was impressed enough to book a private journey with Blue Crane for my family later in the year.
