The most informative and expertly conducted tour I have ever undertaken.
5/5

The pickup from Rockmerchie Camp was well marshalled and expertly commenced, the onward safari exceeded all expectations and the competence and knowledge of the guides was superb. The establishment of the evening camps at the end of each day were a joy to be involved in and ALL the staff were extremely friendly and sensitive to all our wants. The whole trip was expertly marshalled by Mark the lead guide and his assistant Campbell and the evening meal conversations were invigorating and amusing at all times besides being informative on a variety of subjects ranging from history to mechanics with all the party involved.

Incredible, Fantastic, Wonderful - The perfect way to experience Kruger!
5/5

If you are thinking about an all inclusive Safari tour of Kruger, look no further!

Chris not only designed and built a unique and one of the best vehicles for viewing game, he is also a fantastic host, guide and gifted cook.

I had never been on Safari or to Kruger/SA before and from being picked up in Jo'Berg to the final game drive, I could not have asked for a better experience.

Truck Norris alone is worth choosing Armadillo as the windows are huge - ideal for photographers - and the elevated position means you have an unrivalled view of nature; there are drinks in a refridgerated cooler, you can read up on the park, game, tracking while crusing along with lots of space to enjoy the ride.

I have to say I enjoyed the tour so much that I have told my parents they must go with Chris and am hopeful of engineering a way to come back again soon!

An amazing experience, a personal service that met every expectation , from the beach to the bush !
5/5

I chose to organise my trip to Tanzania through Ubon Safaris, after being recommended to them by a friend.
I was not disappointed. Directors Umang and Beena have a very hands on approach in creating an itinerary for your holiday using their wealth of experience of what the country has to offer.
I wanted to relax for a week before going on safari so Umang suggested a visit to Zanzibar which was amazing. I was met by someone at the airport and taken to a beautiful hotel in the centre of historic Stonetown , spending 2 days exploring this fastinating town before spending the rest of the week at a quiet beach retreat in the north of the Island. I was then ready for what the second part of my trip had in store.

Umang suggested , that as I had been on two safaris before that I found to be a little impersonal and over crowded , we should head to the Ruaha National Park and stay at Tandala Tented camp at the edge of the park. It was a revelation , since I think in all the game drives we did we only came across a couple of other vehicles a day , and our driver and guide knew exactly how to make the most of each days adventure.
Plenty of lions , leopards, cheetahs , elephants , hippos , and a ringside seat watching two female lionesses stalk and bring down a buffalo. Not to mention the biggest python I have ever seen, and that was just in one day !
The camp at Tandala was beautifully equipped and the food and the hosting from Dionysia and John was first class. We were able to watch dozens of elephants come into the camp to drink at the waterhole as we ate dinner. A glorious location, a brilliant holiday and and experience I won't forget in a hurry.

So if you are looking to visit this part of the world , give Umang and Beena a call and they can talk you through exactly how to get the best out of your holiday for the budget you have. Umang even picked me up from the airport and made the effort to make sure that every detail was covered. This is not just a business to them , they love showing other people the heart and soul of Africa that continues to captivate them both.

great service great guidance excellent experience
5/5

Firstly the people at "It Started in Africa" Office is amazingly helpful and good at understanding your needs. The people we met in Tanzania was also terrific. Especially our guide "Anthony Sillo" was expert at what he was doing, we kind and full of knowladge about the area and the animals. If you have a chance to ask for the guide definetly I recommend him. We went for 6 days(2,5 days in Serengeti) but if you have time try to spend more time at amazing Serengeti.

Let's dive into the magic
5/5

Natureways Tamarind Canoe Safari can't be described in few sentences, but I'll try. The exeprience is permeated by a supernatural atmosphere, that I have never even imagine to experience. It's really just you and nature: the river, bird singing and animals. Paddling through the small channels is one of the highlights, to the extent that we named a channel "paradise channel", since it really matched with our concept of Eden. Besides the wonderful natural experience it provides, the guides are wonderful and gentle people, with true experience, knowledge, love for their job, and even surprising cooking skills! The camp-equipment was nice and quite new, and we also felt safe on the stable canoes. We will undoubtedly reccomend Natureways Tamarind Canoe Safari to every nature-and-adventure-loving person!

3 week bespoke camping trip into Kaokoland, NW Namibia
5/5

Having been on Wild Dog Safari’s (WDS) 23 day African Odyssey in 2009 my wife and I wanted to do something more adventurous. After extended discussions involving Liz, the boss of WDS, and Tuhafeni, the same guide as we had for 2 weeks of our 2009 trip, we had a plan. A 3 week private camping tour with Tuhafeni as our guide/driver, travelling North West through Kaokoland up to Camp Synchro on the Kunene River. We would round off with a few days in Etosha.
Kaokoland is an awe inspiring area, vast nearly empty land, hauntingly beautiful desert and mountains dissected by huge ephemeral river beds where we saw desert elephants, rhino, giraffes and the enormous fresh paw prints of a lion which chose to keep a low profile! How the Himba manage to survive in this parched land is incredible.
Tuhafeni never ceased to amaze with his knowledge, enthusiasm, and incredible eyesight! Nothing was too much trouble going out of his way to make the holiday an amazing experience. Despite the lack of shops (only 2 opportunities to stock up provisions in the 1st 2 weeks!) food was plentiful and well prepared, usually cooked over our camp fire. Salads, meat and yoghurts were kept fresh in a small fridge on board our Land Rover. Tent was spacious, well ventilated and pitched in under 5 minutes.
From start to finish everyone in the company was so helpful. We were treated more like friends than clients. An amazing trip. We will be back!

Thanks for the excellent safari
5/5

We had safari with "Wild Safaris and travel" in at least 3 national parks - Maasai Mara, Nakuru and Naivasha and everywhere we had a wonderful time. We want to thank our drivers, who are big professionals. In all national parks we saw as much animals as possible, a lot of interesting animals behavior and even very rare animals for example leopard.
So, we really recommend this company if you are planning to go to Kenya

Very good tour to see the wildlife in Mikumi Nat. Park
4/5

The communication with the manager and guide was fluid and perfect before and during the tour. The service very good, the guide has a huge experience and everything was very good. I had to change my schedule just the days before, for reason of my work, and they solved everything very quick, so the tour was a success. I had very little time after my work in Tanzania but they made the best of that time; in the Mikumi we watched many giraffes, elephants, the hippos at the pool, gazelles, wildebeest, etc. I stayed in the little houses/cottages of the Nat. Park and it was good for me to see some wildlife in the night and in the early morning.

Safari Njema in Selouz Game Reserve!
5/5

Msafiri Travels arranged 3 fascinating safari tours, a walking safari, a boat safari and a full day jeep safari. This safari-package provided a complete insight to explore the Savanna from three different perspectives.

We traveled from Zanzibar in the early morning to catch the first ferry going to Dar Es Salaam. Over there, our two tour guides from Msifiri Travels already waited for us to start the drive through Tanzania. After 5 hours drive, we arrived at our base, called the Hippo Camp, where we slept 2 nights in huge comfortable tents. We were provided with delicious full nutrition meals at breakfast and dinner and get abundant lunch packages on our tours during the days, to be ready to visit the home of lions, crocodiles, hippos, monkeys, elephants, giraffes, zebras, warthogs and more.

The boat safari went on the Rufiji River, which is full of hippos hailing with their ears towards our boat. The crocodiles were more shy and hided quiet under the surface. After two hours boat drive, we went on a sand bank to look for the sunset. Back in the camp, our first safari day ended right next to a warming campfire. The next day started with a walking safari in the early morning accompanied by loud shoutings of monkeys. A tour guide in traditional decor taught us a lot about how to survive in the Savanna by using its natural resources, which can be found in the bush. We also saw a massive nest of termites that clear up the area. During our walk we were protected by a local ranger. After this safari, we get an extensive full breakfast at our camp, until the jeep safari started.
We passed the old German Mtemere Gate to enter the Selous Game Reserve, one of the largest faunal reserves of the world and the largest in Tanzania. With an area about 50,000 square kilometers it covers 5% of the total area of Tanzania. All of the big fives are living in this area and many other animals as well. We spend this day together with lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, gnus, and warthogs. While the lions were sleeping in the bush, we ate our lunch packages right next to the crocodile lake, watching elephants drinking water on the opposite shore, a really exciting experience for all of us.

After two full exciting and informative days of safari experiences, we were brought back to Dar Es Salaam and finally reached Zanzibar with a huge bunch of life-experience giving impressions.

Safari njema sana sana!
