Great adventure
5/5

I can absolutely recommend Serene East Africa safari! I experienced them as well organised operator, happy to deal with any requests quickly and efficiently and able to provide clear information on different options and put together a nice package for a good price.

Nothing was too much of a hassle for the team and our driver was very knowledgable and flexible. The guide also knew the park very well and where to go to find the animals. But we had also very interesting chats about the country and its people on the way to and from the park. All in all a very pleasant experience and a great advert for this beautiful country!

Highly recommended
5/5

We were very happy with Serene East Africa safari. We requested quite a lot of different quotes from different companies for our three day/ two night trip to the Maasai Mara for two people in June 2016. Serene stood out not only because of the good price and offer but also because they really responded to the questions I put in my request – which shows they really care.

We had a few questions ahead of the trip and found that the communication with Ms Kiura ahead of the trip was always helpful, friendly and prompt which instilled great confidence in the operator. And the safari really delivered! The trip was well organised, the lodge absolutely lovely and the driver well versed in both off-road driving and the wildlife we saw. Everything was tailored to our preferences – and all for a great price. If we come back to Keya we would not shop around but simply contact them again.

A most excellent adventure led by a highly skilled (also fun and friendly) team of guides.
5/5

Our two weeks with Tembo were filled with the extraordinary wildlife of east Africa. Our guides were highly skilled at finding and identifying all the various animals (including the numerous species of birds we encountered). Because of their knowledge, experience, and desire to provide a first -class safari we were blessed to see more "National Geographic" moments that I ever imagined. They did everything possible to make the trip fulfilling, fun, and safe. Because they are all warm and open individuals, the trip had a real "family" feel, and much of our time on the game drives was spent laughing and joking around. I give Tembo Adventures the highest rating possible !! It was an unforgettable experience.

Wildlife Viewing in Botswana
5/5

Patrick at Journeys Discovering Africa arranged our 11-day Botswana Explorer trip in June, 2016. Even though working at the last minute, Patrick managed to arrange a flawless itinerary. We proceeded through arrangements without incident. Every transfer, hotel, lodge, activity, and flight performed as expected, and there were no surprises.

Especially worth noting was the quality of the Botswana game lodge experience. In all cases, these lodges provided their guests with excellent administration, staff, drivers and guides, accommodations, and meals. Besides this first class hosting experience, all the wildlife of Africa is there for you to enjoy. Our Botswana experience was excellent, and we don't hesitate to recommend Journeys Discovering Africa and Botswana as a matchless travel opportunity.

We didn't want to go with a group, we didn't want to do the tourist trail, we were NOT disappointed.

"I suppose upon reflection we initially took a bit of a gamble with Golden Okavango (now Golden Africa): we hadn't heard of them before, we just liked the look of their web site and the fact that they mentioned private guides and mobile camping which we wanted; then we liked the sound of Rob Barber's reply to our original enquiry, and it went from there. Rob so obviously listened to what we wanted, took on board what we had experienced before in East Africa, suggested a package that we liked the sound of, and we decided to trust him with our safari. We are very glad we did; he and his team did an excellent job with efficient organization for everything to flow smoothly: flights, transport, accommodation and being totally looked after. This was exclusively for us. Our open camp was set up in beautiful, wild places in Nxai Pan, Moremi, Khwai and Savuti. Breakfast was held up one morning as two lionesses strolled through our camp! We also had 'little surprises' which Rob organised because of what he had learnt about our interests. That initiative particularly impressed us, and the wild dogs and meeting Tico was very special, as was looking at the amazing African Sky at night through a powerful telescope, and our first helicopter flight over the delta when we spotted a leopard hunting a warthog! We felt our money was managed wisely and that we also had value for money. We had just the best time ever in Botswana with Safari guide James Haskins and Annelies, owner of Drumbeat who organised our camp with efficiency and amazing food.
We could not recommend Golden Africa more highly. Go with them and enjoy!

Bad expierence with Malcolm
2/5

We just returned from touring Botswana with Malcom.
Our experience with him as a tour guide was not positive.

At every border control post, he neglected to inform us of the procedure and necessary requirements.

This was also the case during the tour, we were not informed about when to take along water, diesel/petrol etc.

His cell phone was also not roamed.

With regards to confronting him with our problems, he was not approachable and dismissive.

Perfect mobile safari in Botswana
5/5

Kalahari Skies made our holiday in Botswana better than we could have dreamed of. The recommendations and planning from Eddie were spot on. A great choice of campsites and safari route. Marks must be the best guide in Botswana: there seems to be no bird, animal or plant he does not know about. Let alone knowing exactly what his guests want! The camping was five star with hot showers on demand and incredible 3 course meals cooked on the fire. Thanks to the very friendly camp team of Eze, Mathew and Tumelo! We'll definitely be back once we have saved up enough Pula!

Amazing tour and flexibility!
5/5

We (I) left our honeymoon planning until the last minute as we were super busy finalizing grades and comments for our students. Laurette at Pembury took our wish list and made it happen! We had initially whittled an 11 day set tour down to 9 that packed in our ideal elements Southern Africa: Victoria Falls in Zambia, Chobe National Park in Botswana, Sabi Sands Safari Park in South Africa along with all of the wonderful things to do around Cape Town, South Africa (Wine Tour, Table Mountain, Robben Island, Great White Shark Cage Diving, etc). We were all set to book but the flight times from South Africa to Zambia were not cooperating with our arrival times. So, poor Laurette reworked most of our itinerary to include all of the sites we wanted to see AND managed to sneak in a half day tour of Johannesburg, which included the Apartheid museum, soweto and Nelson Mandela's home! All of our accommodations were amazing, the safaris allowed us to see the Big 5, we saw 13 great white sharks up close and personal and tasted amazing wine for a relaxing final day of our honeymoon. Simply wonderful planning and execution from start to finish. Thank you Pembury for a wonderful trip!

Our retirement trip
5/5

It was absolutely a fabulous trip. We are seasoned off-the-beaten-track travellers and I absolutely marvel that everything, everything, worked exactly as it was supposed to. Here we were, in the middle of central Tanzania, waiting for a 10:05 flight. Guess what? At 10:03, there was the plane, buzzing animals off the grass runway, then touching down to pick us up. It happened every time.

How do they manage to have tonic, gin, lime, glasses, ice, and potato chips in Katavi? It must be a logistical nightmare--but there was my gin and tonic, always perfectly served. Dazzling!

We felt safe, treated so well by enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring staff throughout..... And then there were the animals. We never saw a rhine, because they have been poached to virtual extinction in East Africa, but we saw most everything else, and up close and personal. Having a leopard on your tent porch is not something I will soon forget.
