Uganda 2 week Birding and Mammal Tour January 2014
5/5

Hi my name is Peter Saunders from Nottingham England--we booked this birding holiday a year in advance with Deo. The participants were Peter and Lorraine Saunders, Jonny Price and Will Price.
From the time we initially committed to the holiday Deo (Uganda Eco Tours) kept us upadte with news and answered any queries etc very quickly!
As for the tour the combination of Deo and Robert Nuwagaba made for a brilliant and facinating experience. Both brilliant birders knowing all the bird calls and habitats with an amazing gift a actually location the birds. Deo has a great mindset for detail and orginisation with the trip running without any significant problems. In 2 weeks we saw 470 species of birds and lots of mammals including Shoebill, Green-breasted Pitta, Finfoot (which was unexpected), Chimpanzee and Gorilla (amazing experience) and lots lots more. The accommodation and food were excellent with wonderful views from most places. I would strongly recommend the service of Deo if you are planning a trip to Uganda-Deo and Robert are really nice people with a great knowledge of the wildlife of Uganda. They both have a good sense of humor, very polite and look after their participants very well!
Thank you both for a great trip one we will never forget!
Good birding Pete Saunders

Serengeti is the true jewel. If you have limited time, just catch a flight into Seronera airstrip, and spend your game drives here. Wildlife is the best here of all.

A stunning place of geological history! So unique, so vast, so beautiful. Do not miss a stop at Gibbs Farm for at least a lunch visit. Very close to Ngorongoro.

A totally different vibe to this park from all the rest... the lush greenery, low hanging clouds, it's just a magical place. And the giraffes are rampant here!

It is the one destination one cannot miss if you are remotely interested in wildlife. The diversity is amazing and you cannot believe all you see most times.

Great trip to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi
5/5

We had a great 4 days trip to Hluhluwe-iMfolozi and Saint Lucia. Endless Summer was very helpful and perfectly honnest from the planning to the end of the trip. Accomodations and meals were very good and all activities were worth it, except for the night drive (or maybe we were just unlucky then). Rhys is a knowledgable guide, a very dedicated professional and the nicest person, and he really worked hard to make our trip unforgettable. Thansk to him and Endless summer for the memories, and hope to be back soon! Rachel & Leo-

A totally enjoyable trip around South Africa
5/5

The fact that only 4 of us were travelling around South Africa with Crusty (our tour leader) made it a very special experience as we all became firm friends by the end of it. We saw a lot of what South Africa has to offer with Kruger national park being the highlight for me , the wildlife we saw there was just amazing. All the accommodation was of a high standard and the vehicle we travelled in always clean and comfortable. It truly got Africa into my blood and I couldn't wait to visit again. I totally recommend Compass Odyssey to anyone interested in a very personal and enjoyable African safari. The service was memorable and Crusty always managed to keep everyone happy.

Surrounded by landscapes as far as you can see, majestic elephants roam on your path.

We stayed at Kwa Maritane, one of the lodges in the park, the rooms are well appointed and the food was terrific. At the patio by the restaurant, many an elephant comes to browse and birds peck at the bread on your plate. Surrounded by the "wild" in the lap of luxury. Pilanesberg is generally very hot and dry, a high factor sunscreen and hats are a must! The guides on the game drives are very knowledgeable about the area and know how to track the game in the park. One of the few national parks where you can see the "Big Five". Herds of buck and elephant abound and we were lucky to spot cheetahs and lion. The scenery alone is worthwhile, as the park is situated in the cradle of an extinct volcano. Lakes and acacia strewn mountains make it any nature lover's "must-go-to-destination". In short, a terrific experience. For the wild at heart, Sun City is only a mere 10 minutes away too.

An adventure, an amazing experience, lots of fun and altogether a great travel odyssey -Wonderful
5/5

Choosing again to travel with Compass Odyssey I certainly was not dissapointed. The service was outstanding with the tour leader Darren always enquiring & endevouring to meet the needs of each individual within the group. Noel the driver & Allen the cook were extaordinarily good at what they did as well as being a joy to travel with.
The highlights for me were Zimbabwe - Victoria Falls, Botswana - Chobe, Maun Royal Tree Lodge, Okavango Delta & South Africa - Kruger National Park, Johannesburg Soweto. We certainly experienced first hand meeting many fascinating people, seeing a diversity of places, landscapes, animals & birds & stayed in varied & different types of accommodation.
A fantastic travel experience .... i would certainly reccomend!!!!
