A day at Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area
5/5

Booking our trip with Mega Adventures was easy, after having already climbed Kilimanjaro with them, we were confident they would give us a good deal for a trip to Ngorongoro and we were not disappointed.

Booking was completed face-to-face at our hostel, but we had discussed several options with Mohamed previously via telephone and electronic messaging.

We were picked up on time from our hostel, and after a quick stop to collect our lunches from a local caterer we started the long drive West to Ngorongoro. Our driver, and guide Ali kept us informed about our progress as well as telling us what we might hope to see when we arrived.

Upon arrival to the conservation area, entry formalities were completed quickly, and our descent into the park was swift in order to maximise the time spent on the crater floor. The crater was so vast, beyond anything I could have predicted. It was genuinely amazing to see the tiny dots we had viewed from above transformed into zebras, wildebeest, hyenas, warthogs and many more.

Ali took the time to explain each animal to us: numbers in the park, species, habits etc, and drove slowly and responsibly through the area, maximising our viewing potential of the rarer beasts. After some radio chatter he took us to a spot where we could see the critically endangered black rhino. After lunch (a very tasty lunch I might add) by the hippo pool, we searched for lions, which Ali found pretty quickly, a pride sleeping through the afternoon heat. We managed a good 4 hours inside the crater before heading out (seeing elephants as we passed) and returning to Moshi. Although the journey was long and traffic was dense, it didn't detract from the epic day we had at Ngorongoro with Mega Adventures.

Great Trip, Excellent Value For Money
4/5

Had a wonderful 2 night safari in the Masai Mara booked through Segein.
I was kept in contact with regularly, and very speedily and the girls were so helpful and friendly!
The tour itself lived up to expectations and more, I saw 4 of the big 5 in the first half an hour!!
The camp was great, really decent sized tents - but don't forget your torch.
My driver was great, though could say that a better vehicle would have made the journey - very long trip to the reserve from Nairobi) much more comfortable.

Thank you so much for this wonderful trip! And for all of your help in organising it for me.

Very good experience.

We saw lots of animals on all our drives. The food was good, and the guides were nice and helped celebrate our anniversary.

Had a great safari!
4/5

SafariBook Evolution provided a great service. Steve responded on my emails almost immediately and was very helpful with everything. Since I was a young and single traveler, I asked whether it was possible to join a group with young/single travelers as well. He advised me to leave on a particular date so I'll have a great group to travel with and he was right! The group was awesome and I loved to tour. The driver and cook were great and they were able to tell a lot about the country and the animals. They really loved their job, which made the tour even better!

Materuni Tours for Safari: 100% Recommendation
5/5

Going on safari with Materuni was the best decision. Everything from first discussions with Tory, to planning the trip, then briefing with Ambrose, and the actual climb and safari itself was so professional and comfortable. The guides were respectful and knowledgeable. Our guide for safari was extremely knowledgeable of the parks we visited and led us to see all of the animals! Truly incredible experience with Materuni's staff and would 100% recommend them to anyone else climbing Kili or going on safari. Thank you Materuni team for making it a seamless adventure for us :)

Sun Safaris will go out of their way to plan a wonderful safari experience
5/5

This is our second trip to South Africa using Sun Safaris and we went back to them because of the excellent service we received on our trip last year. We had two other couples go with us and they all enjoyed the entire trip. Our trip this year lasted 10 days, included 3 game lodges and every day was wonderful! I also recommended Sun Safaris to another couple (friends) and they are in Africa now doing basically our itinerary.

We initiated our trip with Jako and our details were handled by Michelle due to Jako's departure. She did a great job keeping us fully informed. The planning, scheduling and yes even the payment process was extremely easy and efficient, just as it was last year.

This year we went back to our favorite lodge, Arathusa, and visited two new ones based upon Sun Safaris recommendations. Ezulwini River Lodge was really fun. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful and the guide and tracker went out of their way to find us all of the Big Five. The next lodge recommended was Rhino Post, in Kruger. While I was initially concerned that visiting Kruger would be too restrictive (compared to the off road travel available at the other lodges) I relied on Sun Safari's recommendation and we were again extremely happy. Again, great staff and wonderful game viewing. Of course Arathusa was as expected, and our ranger Sean was wonderful, extremely responsive and passionate about his job.

We do not hesitate to recommend Sun Safaris as the place to go for a great experience in Safari travel. They are extremely friendly, responsive (even by returning phone calls to us in California) and efficient. Give them an opportunity to help you plan a trip of a lifetime to Africa; you will not be disappointed!

An Amazing Experience
5/5

We have just returned to Ohio, USA from an Amazing Safari to Kruger National Park South Africa. We experienced the Big 5 and all the other animals, the panoramic tour, the South African Culture, up close and personal interaction with some of the animals, excellent food, wonderful accommodations, and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. We were educated on all of this by Shaun Taylor, our amazing guide. Shaun's knowledge of all things South Africa is nothing short of phenomenal. His love of tracking animals is evident in all he does and allowed us to see all of the Big 5 in the first 2 days. His patience with our repeated questions was unending. Shaun fit in with our family of 2 teenagers, 2 young adults and 2 grandparents like he had always been a part of our family. Being a private safari of just our family and Shaun made it extra special. We will treasure this experience for the rest our lives through the thousands of pictures, mementos, and special memories we have of this safari. A Moriti Private Safari is the only way you should experience the wonderful world of South Africa

Safari on your Bucket List? There is no better place to check it off than with Shaun at Moriti!!
5/5

When we started considering an African Safari as a family vacation it was really an "is this even possible?" sort of question. We spoke to a travel agent and it really looked out of range. Not necessarily agreeing with the travel agent's approach we began doing some research. Booking a trip like this over the Internet is not without concern and risk. Shaun Taylor and Moriti totally eliminated this almost immediately. Many is the time you look at web pages and when you get there are disappointed. Didn't happen. It was so much better than Shaun described. This review will never do it justice. We have thousands of pictures. None are as amazing as we remembered it being in person. This is the biggest issue, it's really hard to express.

We contacted people who traveled with Moriti before we left, they ALL, that's right, ALL said the same thing. Communication was perfect, accommodations were fantastic, the food was amazing, all the people we met were happy and engaging, full of hospitality for American guests. We got to experience South Africa in all it's splendor over a 9 day period. In the first 2 days in Kruger Park we had checked off sightings of the big 5. If you love animals and tracking you'll love this trip. Yes you get to travel in an open game vehicle with tiered seating just like you see on the Discovery channel. We traveled as family of 6, 3 generations from grandparents to teenagers. All agree Shaun and his team are amazing, you will feel like family at the end of the 9 days.

I do have one complaint. The champagne breakfast high atop a ridge at Klaserie in the wonderful South African morning sun Shaun and Lindsey prepared for my Dad's 65th birthday on our final morning game drive was so incredible, that we'll never be able to top it. From now on, all we'll here is "For my 65th birthday party I had champagne and quiche on a ridge top in South Africa!" No way we'll ever top it. Thanks Shaun! (He said, sarcastically but with a lot of love! :-) )

Just go, the exchange rate, the people, just everything will be amazing. Moriti will make sure of that!!
