Tailored trip to the best destinations in Serengeti
5/5

This was the second time I and my wife used TSA to arrange a photo trip to Serengeti. Again, it was a total success. They seem to have excellent guides that will find the most interesting action available to photograph in the bushes. They are not the cheapest or largest of the tour organisers, but they offer a good amount of experience and subjects to shoot for a photographer. I have been ten times in Africa on photogaphing trips but this is the place to find the best subjects. And for sure, I will use TSA to arrange my next trips as well.

Awesome Kgalagadi, The best kept secret in Southern Africa abundant wildlife, birding, range of acco
Overall rating

The sceneray and the wildlife in is park are spectacular. There is a range of accomodation types to suite every budget. The roads within the park are accesible to all, but some areas you will need a 4x4. The camp I stayed in on the first day was Twee Riveren. The accomodation was comfortable and the self catering chalet was well appointed. Te supply store was adequately stocked. This is your main entrance into the park from the nearest town of Uppington, arriving from Kimberley, JHB, or Bloemfontein, Bethlehem,Harrismith, PMB and Durban.

The weather experiened was unusually cold. The self catering chalets was well appointed to be able to make your own food. I experienced this park as part of a Photographic Couse run by Peter Craig Cooper and Emmanuel Maria. Our guides were Melissa and Willem. They were excellent guides and were very knowledgeable about the fauna and flora of the region.

The special highlight for me was the spotting and photographing the young male leopard on a orning drive from the Nossob camp. In the evenings there is a Hide at the waterhole fed by a borehole pump, that attracts a range of animals at night to this hide. Nossob Camp is also well appointed.

One does get the goodfeeling of being in the bush sort of get the bush vibe. The spectacular morning and evening skies are unmatched in beauty.

Treat Yourself to an Unforgettable Experience!
5/5

I've used Fun Time Tours several times over the last 5 years or so, and always had a great experience. They will listen to your needs and tailor a package that is perfect for you, and at a reasonable cost with no hidden charges. Barney used to be a Park Ranger and knows all the ins and outs of booking safaris as well as cultural tours, scuba adventures, and the like, with a wide network of lodges and safari guides so you can satisfy all your African tour needs. In addition, Barney and Venishia are salt of the earth and a joy to deal with and a pleasure to know. I can't recommend them highly enough. Trust your plans to Fun Time; you won't regret it.

Trip of a Lifetime
5/5

This trip was nothing short of remarkable, and I am thankful Odyssey Safaris was my safari operator. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but Odyssey did a great job of catering to our needs and answering all of our questions. The safari rides themselves got better and better with each place we visited, and they certainly saved the best for last: Masai Mara. Our tour guide, Erastus, was wonderful and very knowledgeable. It was because of him that we saw some of the breathtaking things we saw, including a leopard feeding on a gazelle while in a tree, a lion waiting (impatiently) to make a kill, and six lion cubs playing with their mother. It certainly helps that, with the exception of a few activities, the expenses are all part of the package. That way all you have to focus on is enjoying your trip and negotiating good prices for your souvenirs.

We had a wonderful stay in the Kruger Park. The guide was adorable and very knowledgable about the animals. We got to see all the big 5. The one night stay in the private park was also great, and we really enjoyed the dinner around the fireplace.

Super great safari with Shadows of Africa!
5/5

My husband and I did a safari of 5 days and everything was arranged perfectly from beginning to end. Everything was beyond expectations, thanks to Natasha and our guide Silvester and cook Abdul. The communication with Natasha is excellent, she responds very fast and knows exactly how to put a nice safari together, as well as give tips about Tanzania in general.
We went to Lake Mayara (1 day), Serengeti (2 days), Ngorongoro (1 day) and on our last day we went hunting with bush men (nomads), all was just amazing! Thanks to our guide we've seen the most amazing animals, he knew exactly where to go and spotted them from very far. The food was also very good, you will not miss anything!
We did the budget camping and slept in tents, which I would definitely recommend as you are more connected with the nature and during the night some curious animals could come to visit you, which is a very nice experience!
Thanks to Shadows of Africa we had an amazing safari! Thank you Natasha!!! :)

The trip of a lifetime!
5/5

As a self-admitted travel nut, to say that this is the best trip I have ever taken (in 60+ some years) still seems like an understatement. The quality of all arrangements and accommodations, the caliber of the staff and guides, the printed materials and informative emails, and general responsiveness of all Odyssey personnel (they aim to please, and do it brilliantly!) surpassed even our greatest expectations. As if seeing the animals up close and personal in the African savanna were not life affirming and life altering enough, the good fellowship of our tour group and the daily helpfulness of the Odyssey folks made this a dream-come-true of a vacation!

We highly recommend Makasa, they gave us our dream Safari trip in Tanzania
5/5

We found Makasa online, and began working with them because they are a local company. They were very easy to work with, they responded quickly and gave us a recommendations for a range of tented camps and lodges, and what was reserved for us was exactly what we wanted. The tour guide/driver was exceptional; his knowledge of the animals and birds and their behavior was excellent, he was friendly and enthusiastic, and he could not have done more for us. He was able to find animals we would never have seen.
We spent time in Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti, and each park had its unique features.
