Up Close With Wild Animals in Tanzania
5/5

We thoroughly enjoyed our safari with Makasa. From the time we landed at Kilimanjaro until the time we flew out from Dar Es Salaam we were very well looked after with every aspect of our travel well organized which was a great relief to us.

Our guide, Tom, was a fantastic man and we couldn't have asked for anything more from him. He made sure we had the opportunity to see all of the wild animals in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater and it appeared to us that he was very popular with the camp staff and other guides. He was aware of what was on offer to view and got us to each place so that we could enjoy the sights before the animals moved away.

The accommodation on safari was great and, despite the remoteness of some of the camps, we were well looked after and well catered for. We completed our trip with 5 nights at Kilima Kidogo on the Zanzibar coast where we were also extremely comfortable and well looked after. Anyone wanting a relaxing stay could not pass up the opportunity to stay with Dina and her staff.

Best safari possible
5/5

First rate communication, paid deposit on line very easily. Balance when we started our Safari.
The Land Cruiser was great - comfortable, open roof for standing, our guide was very knowledgeable of the animals, trees and birds. The overnight lodge accommodation was outstanding. Three fabulous days, saw all of the big 5 and all within a few metres. Didn't need the binoculars we bought. Will need a long time to review the hundreds of photographs

Great safari experience
5/5

Booked 6D/5N safari with Sunny Safaris on the recommendation of a friend who had used their services earlier and we were not disappointed. Our driver Hamisi was really helpful and knowledgeable and helped us spot animals (inc big 5) from a distance. He would drive to places where the other operators were not crowding and allow us to take pictures in peace. The transaction of booking the safari was quite easy (thanks to Masha and Ally). We were picked up from the airport and dropped back in time for our flights. The safari was well planned and the lodges were quite good. The food was great including packed lunches. Hamisi, our driver, was a safe driver and quite patient with us in terms of timings.

I would definitely recommend them!

The Greatest Life Experience By Far"
5/5

kenya ideal safaris and tours went miles beyond meeting our every expectation. Our safari took place in Nakuru and Maasai mara game reserve whereby we spent our five adventurous days.we did not know what to anticipate since this was our first safari. Our guide picked us up at the airport in Nairobi and drove us to the lake Nakuru national park.We immediately felt comfortable with our guide because he was personable, very knowledgeable and had a wonderful sense of humor.
He took care of everything during safari. This included getting us checked in at the all the camps and lodges we had booked, taking care of our expenses at mealtimes, and most importantly transporting us on our search for the Big Five.We were fortunate to have seen all of the Big Five and much more.We also appreciated the beautiful scenery of the area and gained an appreciation for the delicate balance of the ecosystem.I found our guide to be extremely helpful by spending time advising us when and how to take good pictures.Turns out,he was quite a good photographer of his own right.
If you get a chance to take a safari,do so.You will not regret it.if you choose to do so,I highly recommend using Kenya ideal safaris.

Nice safari
5/5

We have now been on safari in the northern circuit two times this year with wild root and have not once been disappointed. Planned and communication via email works very well and fast og the itineraries given are very detailed. Also you are greated a day prior to your safari to check that everything is in order, all with the usual kind tanzanian hospitality. Furthermore they were able to suit our budgets accordingly.

Special praise to our guide Raymond whom we travelled with both times.

Very recommendable. So much that we know also have book spice tour and trip to prison island, on Zanzibar with wild root!

5/5

Got marred on the 17th Oct 2015 and Magical Retreat ( Pamela) had the perfect honeymoon planed for my wife and I to enjoy. Waking up on the 18th Oct there we hard out tour guide/driver Mr. Livingstone Masagha waiting for us to start the trip to Masai Mara where he was so accommodative in everything and telling us how we will enjoy the trip. Pamela keep in mind that you do have the best person there with you if you do remember we did ask you about the road because of the condition of my wife so Mr. Masagha did everything we asked him even driving @ 10kph if it had to. Please pass my regards to him and tell him thank you so much for all he did for us we can never repay all his kindness first day in Mara and he made sure my wife did see all the BIG 5 that she has always dreamed of. Thank you so much and now I do promise that coming year 2016 definitely we will be bringing our son to enjoy Kenya also so keep us on your schedule.

Regards,

Rosalia and Charles.

5/5

Thank you Umang and Beena for the wonderful trip you have coordinated for us. It has been a pleasure right from the start of the selection process down to our last day which we were sad about our trip ending, leaving the amazing Serengiti and the lovely properties you suggested to us. All of us have had a wonderful time here and will have memories forever. We will be posting the images of some astonishingly breathtaking pictures which we have taken during the Safaris and be rest assured we will also be your ambassadors spreading the word around. Thank you once again and hope to plan another safari soon.

The park is well maintained and protected by authorities, but wildlife was difficult to spot.
Overall rating
2/5

Visiting Akagera National Park was my third game drive in Africa, followed by game drives in Kenya and Tanzania.

Akagera National Park is highly monitored and protected by local authorities against poachers. I was also told a percentage of the park fees are administered to neighboring communities so as to provide some economic income and deter poaching.

I know every game drive is different, and a lot depends on what and how many animals you see. However, my game drive in Akagera was really disappointing. I hardly saw any wildlife- zero in the first half of the drive. I think this was largely due to the fact that most of the park had recently been burned to 'control wildfires'. If I had known most of the park was recently burned, I would not have elected to go on the game drive as
I am sure this scared off most of the wildlife.

I recommend not visiting Akagera from June-August as this is when the park is burned. In addition, there is no off-roading allowed in the park. So, if wildlife are not close to the main road, it will be vey difficult to see them.

Budget Trip with a bang!
5/5

We loved our safari package through Kenya which involved an airport transfer both ways and 2 days of safari in the Masai Mara park drives. We got very spoiled with the array of animals on offer, and by far had the most animals present of all the safaris that we did.

The budget part of the trip was present at the tented camp that you stay at as the showers are cold and have very little pressure. Also there is only 3-4 hours of power at the lodge every day which usually means you end up having to shower, dress or go to bed in the pitch black darkness.

Our safari drivers were great and very knowledgeable and always willing to answer our questions which was all the more fun!
