Unforgettable Vacation - Kilimanjaro and Safari
5/5

My husband and me spent two wonderful weeks in Tanzania, all arranged by Shadows of Africa. What can I say, this trip has certainly become a trip of my lifetime. Kilimanjaro climb was well organized; we had a nice team guiding us to the top. The guide Rashid, was very motivating and keeping it positive in challenging moments when I was about to give up on the way to the mountain. For this I am sincerely grateful as in other circumstances I would probably quit along the way. As for safari all I can say , had an amazing time. We took 5 day safari to Manyara, Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. All parks are beautiful, but Serengeti was the place worth staying for days and if I come back I will choose to visit more days in Serengeti for sure. Driver Timothy was funny, witty and informative with wildlife facts and safari stories. Food on safari was also good and tasty, lunch boxes we received were very generous in size and portions in comparison what we saw with other people on picnic spots. For us this package was exactly what we wanted, we didn’t go on Zanzibar but maybe next time..

We would recommend Chalo Africa for those looking for a unique and responsible wilderness experience
5/5

The game safari industry in Kenya caters basically to a western clientele. That's why it was a refreshing change to come across an Indian company like Chalo Africa that caters specifically to Indian needs. More importantly , what made us happy was that we were looking for a more specialized wilderness experience, keeping in mind that we make many visits to sanctuaries and national parks. We liked the fact that they were willing to experiment and help plan a holiday away from a cookie-cutter approach and keeping in mind our desire to get an offbeat wildlife experience. Sangeeta from their team, made several suggestions on what we could do to get off the tourist trail and get a more intimate wildlife experience.

I also like the fact that they tie up with counterparts in Africa who believe in the principle of 'responsible tourism' and take that very seriously. The bushcamp they suggested for us, had no walls constructed, (so we had wild animals coming to sniff our tents at night !) and use of resources like lights and water was restricted to the minimal. We would recommend Chalo Africa for anyone looking for a unique and responsible wilderness experience!

Ivory Lodge in the Sabi Sands was such an amazing experince. Our villa was gorgeous, the service and food was the best we had in South Africa (we both gained weight as we were constantly fed incredible food all day!) But the absolute highlight were our the two daily game drives. Ourguide Jono was incredible and we saw incredible wildlife on every trip. Male lions, female lions, baby lions, giraffes, rhinos, hippos -- you name it. I would go back in a heart beat and high recommend it to anyone who wants a luxurious and adventurous experience.

We saw the big five within 1.5 hour. A real sensation was to see a group of a hundred buffaloes coming to the drinking place. Dust was coming up like you know from a cowboy movie. At an other drinking place the zebra's were waiting for theire turn at the drinking place at the moment that the elephants were drinking and washing.

A day of great wildlife in a green ambiance

After two days of wildlife in a very dry and sunny Kruger Park I expected to see more of the same in the Hluhluwe umfolozi game reserve. But the park brought an other experience of nature in South Africa. The game reserve was fully green with trees and plants. During an exciting search we came on small distance of elephants, giraffes and rhinos. My pictures and movies from this safari are really sensational. In our group we were surprised how time was flying during this visit. In the Hluhluwe-Umofolozi Game reserve you really should make enough time for a long safari. Driving around the park to find the animals was a nice surprise during the trip threw South Africa.

Blue skies, Red sand, amazing scenery and wildlife, fantastic experiences and lifetime memories.
5/5

Planning a holiday is much of the pleasure and with Blue Sky Namibia that was certainly true. From the start it was clear that much care was taken to tailor the tour to the travellers to achieve a happy result and an individual experience.
Four of us, all experienced travellers, journeyed to Namibia and from the time we were met at Windhoek by Pieter Mostert, tour operator, guide, driver and friend it was clear that we were in for an exceptional holiday.
Transport was in a very comfortable, purpose modified Volkswagon Transporter which reliably took us from the Orange river in the South to the Kunene river in the North and from The Shipwreck Coast to the Namib Desert and Etosha.
Accommodation was chosen to give different experiences from a floating cabin on the Orange river, tents in the desert with stars to see, stone lodges in a desert winery, rooms built round a huge boulder in the desert with magnificent views and a variety of accommodation to view wildlife, prehistoric artifacts and the history of Namibia.
Pieter who had a lifetime in conservancy before becoming a tour operator was a constant companion, source of information and a magnificent friend. It was obvious everywhere we went that he was much liked and respected.
As a result we had a truly unforgetable experience which has set a standard which will be hard to repeat.
We can highly recommend Blue Sky Namibia tours and Pieter to anybody seeking an exception and unforgetable journey in a wonderful country

It was little crowed with lots of other safari trucks while on land, but when we were on the water it was like there was no one else around.

I have used Lilac Adventures 2 times and will use them again when I return to Eastern Africa. I am from the United States and found they are easy to communicate with, they provide timely communications and can put together complicated itineraries for big groups.
I especially like their on ground tour guides and drivers. We were always met with smiles and given great information to enrich out trip. You can't go wrong with Lilac!
