Experience of a lifetime
5/5

Tanzania has always been on my bucket list, therefore finding the right tour operator to book our trip with, was very dear to our hearts. We had a rough idea of what we wanted to do but were quite open to other suggestions. We sent an inquiry to several tour operators but I can honestly say no one was as professional, helpful, caring and competent as Materuni Tours. We were very inquisitive and had a lot of questions to ask. All our questions were not only well-answered but also promptly, which was really reassuring.
The itinerary of our trip was always updated according to our wishes and needs, and Ambrose always made an effort to really cater to our interests while still offering us the best experience for our budget. Even, when we experienced a slight hiccup (on our side) with our money transfer, due to my bank making a mistake, Ambrose was extremely patient with us and reserved our bookings until the money went through! We were so grateful to him, as we could only imagine how difficult it must have been to try and reserve all our bookings for us.

Upon our arrival in Moshi, Ambrose not only picked us up from the airport but he also gave us a tour of the town and showed us the hotspots. We then spent the subsequent days on an amazing safari trip with the best cook and safari guide ever! The entire Materuni Tours team is simply wonderful and so friendly; We really felt at home and had the greatest time with them. The rest of our time was spent in Zanzibar (Stonetown and Paje), once again our trip was planned to the minutest detail and we didn't have to worry about a single thing.

I would definitely recommend Materuni Tours to everyone travelling to Tanzania and hope to someday book with them again!

Abundant wildlife next to the beautiful Chobe River
Overall rating
5/5

What stood out immediately at Chobe National Park was simply the incredible density of animals in the park. While driving along the bush roads, it was common to see herds of elephants passing by, giraffes galloping alongside the Jeep, or even lions taking a rest. The weather was beautiful, although small amounts of rain were not uncommon. The paths were soft and smooth compared to other parks, making travel fairly quick and comfortable. Wide open vistas allowed not only for easy viewing of impala, zebra, and many other animals, but also provided an ideal backdrop for lunch breaks and pit stops. The proximity to the Chobe River allowed for great opportunity to see animals and many birds in a new environment. Overall, Chobe National Park is an amazing park that guarantees fun for whatever animals, birds, or landscapes you may seek.

An amazing family safari experience!
5/5

I’ve found out Makasa and Selma reference looking at internet sites for safari information and immediately my gut feeling instilled me trust of them (usually I don’t online)! Afterwards, I can certainly say that it was well rely on and the perfect choice. Not only professional expert team in safari itinerary across Tanzania and reliable drivers – David & Tom, but also careful of and flexible to our needs. Selma, Makasa team and drivers has become part of our enlarged family too. We’ve been also lucky and saw all BIG 5 and any other animal you could think of over 8 days across Moshi, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Masai village!
At the end, we stayed in Zanzibar island for 6 days and again Selma’s selection of Dina’s Kilima Kidogu resort has been excellent … an heaven small lodge on white sand beach and barrier reef in the East coast with the personal touch of the owner Dina who let us feeling like at home.
In a nutshell, I would strongly recommend Selma & Makasa team if you like to live real Tanzania with your personalized tour! Enjoy your trip there!

Halleluja!
3/5

Twice we, 6 addults, made a trip with Gichmak safaris. I think we made the trips in 2006 and 2009 ?!
We had Willy (halleluja) and had a exiting, sometimes scary (on the road) trip.
Must say, we planned the trip together with Gichmak and that went smoothly.

There is only one big problem we had and still have after so many years.
Two of us had to quit halfway the trip because of a passing away in the family.
We are still waiting for the restitution which was promised to us by Benard.

Incredible safari, outstanding guide.
5/5

Recently we hired Fazal Munisi for a Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari during our second visit to Tanzania. The difference between our first safari (in 2009) was amazing. Fazal is incredibly knowledgeable about locations "off the beaten track" (prior to becoming a safari guide, he worked as a ranger in the Serengeti, and also spent time living in a Maasai village). His skill and dedication to his craft, and his love for the wildlife and Tanzania's national parks, is first rate. I learned more about animal behavior in my first half hour with Fazal than the entire previous safari in 2009. I would highly recommend Fazal Munisi and Porini Safari to anyone who wants a safari experience which is a cut above the other safari companies.

Great experience
5/5

It was very nice to be in contact with Benson. Most contact was by e-mail and at the beginning of the tour we met. I was travelling alone and he was also looking for possibilities to travel with a group. Things were nicely arranged and Benson is a very kind person who thinks with you to make it a great experience.

Review about Sabi Sand Game Reserve by Adrian
Overall rating
5/5

The Sabi Sands Game Reserve is privately owned, which makes it more attractive from my point of view. You can get VERY close to the animals and the guides are allowed to go offroad, so if you spot an anmial, you can follow it! Unlike in the Kruger Park, where you need to stay on the roads. Also, there are not many people in this reserve - this is the real bush vibe from :-)

I was extremely happy with safari, overall organization and especially with Fazal as real professional guide.
In case, that I will come to Tanzania again, I will contact you and I will provide your contact to my colleagues and friends in Switzerland.
