A perfect first Safari the one that makes you come back for more
5/5

I wanted to personally thank Gavin at Wild Wings Safari for all the help in organizing our holiday in South Africa. I don’t believe this trip would have turned out as spectacularly as it did without your precise attention to detail and personal assistance to our needs.

From the start, when Simon picked us up in Johannesburg he proved to be a wealth of knowledge in Kruger Park and South Africa in general. He was not only a fantastic guide but he was as interested in the animals as we were!

It can’t be normal for any safari guide to take myself and my wife as his only guests out for the first afternoon for 5 hours (after driving 6 hours from Johannesburg), and then 12 hours for the second day, and 6 hours for the third and final day before driving us an additional 4 hours to our next destination.

Simon’s knowledge of the Kruger Park animal life could be summed up in just one of the many encounters we experienced:
As we were driving over a bridge, in which many other trucks and vehicles had crossed over that same day, Simon stopped and was listening to see what the excited monkeys were chattering about. Simon explained that he was looking to see where the monkeys were literally pointing out as if it was danger. As we gazed in the monkeys’ direction, Simon (and my wife) spotted in the horizon a leopard sleeping on the banks of the river. We appeared to be the only ones to have spotted this sleeping leopard. It was our second sighting of a leopard in just 30 minutes. Remarkable!

Nthambo Tree camp was another recommendation that you gave us, and it was a truly amazing experience that was just as professional and remarkable since it was conducted on a very personal level. Matt, Alex and Nadia of the base camp were attentive to our every needs while we were in the bush and in the camp. The comradery at the camp between the small group of guests and staff was much like it is in a family. (We guests even ‘friended’ each other on Facebook.)

The guides in Zimbabwe were everything we had grown accustomed to having during our trip: both warm and engaging. We will never forget the magnificence of the Victoria Falls, and the unique experience of riding those royal elephants for our Elephant Safari.

For the duration of this entire 2 week vacation, with the exception of the 1- 2 hours of clearing customs in Zimbabwe, everything went according to plan.

Wonderful time
5/5

Christel van der Merwe helped us to plan and book a safari with Nomad and all the extra accomodation in Johannesburg incl. all the transfers (from airport and between lodges). She was a great help to sellect the right tour and inform us about all things needed to make our trip a great experience. Her professionalism but with a personal touch made us feel very comforable and we were very happy with way she helped us. Thanks to her effort we had a great time and went everything very smoothly. We will surley recomend her to our familly and friens.

Amazing Memories indeed
5/5

Our flights were booked to Nairobi but were not sure what to do within the 10 days we had there.
After reading a number of reviews we contacted Amazingmemoriessafaris and we were positively surprised by the great service. We had a reply within a few hours and after a few e-mails we had our itinerary.

We were warmly welcomed by four staff members where we met our Guide for the next couple of days, “Josef”. They dropped us off at the hotel “the Kenya Comport Hotel Suites”. Outside the hotel a group was having party until late but the hotel was reasonable and what we expected from the reviews.

Day 2: We were picked up by our driver Josef and drove to Amboseli where we were staying at Amboseli AA Lodge. On our way there we had our first game drive and saw already a lot of animals. The lodge is very classy and we enjoyed one night there.

The next day we drove to Mount Kenya where we were staying at Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp. We arrived there for a late lunch and went for a game drive in the afternoon. The camp is within the park and next to the camp there is a waterhole where we could see a lot of animals in the evening.

Early the next day we made our way to Lake Nakuru to the Lake Nakuru Flamingo Hill Luxury Camp. We were one of the only guests and we were treated like kings. They set up our dinner table in front of the big fire and the food was exquisite. Staffs were extremely hospitable and we can highly recommend this place. In the afternoon we went for a drive and really enjoyed this park because of the lake.

We had to leave very early the next day because we had a long drive to Maasai Mara where we were staying at Sentrim Mara Camp. The difference to the staff at Lake Nakuru was extreme as these Maasai did not seem to care much about us. The camp was clean and nice but apart from that we can’t recommend it because of the staff. We stayed there 2 nights and had great drives at Maasai Mara.

We then drove back to Nairobi to get a 2pm flight to Mombasa. There was a lot of traffic but thanks to Josef we made it on time. We however had to wait for someone from amazingmeories to hand us our flight tickets and we got a bit nervous to miss our flight as it took him quite long to get to the airport. That was probably the only not so amazing experience about amazingmemoriessafaris.

We got to Mombasa Airport where someone picked us up and drove us to Diani Beach to Southern Palms Beach Resort. We left and he told us that it can only take 45 minutes to get to the hotel.
In the end it took us almost 3 hours so we were quite unhappy as we had been traveling since 5am. I advised him not to tell customers about the 45 minutes.

We then arrived at Southern Palms Beach Resort and had a great few days there. It was all inclusive and staff was great there and very friendly. Food was tasty (probably because we love Indian food).

The only two things we did not enjoy about the hotel were the following:
- Firstly, there were a lot of annoying beach sellers and you could not go to the beach as they would not stop talking to you. We therefore stayed mostly inside the resort which was okay as the resort and its pool area are great.
- Secondly, my wife and I both had a massage but the ladies working there apparently did not have much of a clue about it. We would never return for a massage.

On the day of our journey back we were picked up from the hotel and then via Nairobi we flew back.
We can highly recommend amazingmemoriessafari and do ask for Josef as guide. He was indeed amazing! Thanks again.

One of the best holidays we've ever had
5/5

Even before we arrived in Uganda we received fantastic service from Wild Jungle Trails. Every question was answered immediately and we were able to tailor a trip that perfectly suited us. Once we arrived in Entebbe things only got better. The drive to Murchison falls was beautiful and we felt comfortable and safe on the journey. Murchison River Lodge is so luxurious with friendly staff and excellent food. Every outing we went on was at a seriously high standard with fantastic bird guides and people who really cared about the park. We really couldn't have put together a better trip if we tried.

Faultless
5/5

When we started looking at safari tours we had selected Kruger Park Travel amongst several other tour operators to obtain quotes and ideas. From the first response that we received from Kruger Park Travel we knew we had found the right company, they delivered a range of options and recommendations that felt as if they were working hard to tailor a safari to meet our needs rather than fit our needs into a predetermined tour plan. Once we had booked they maintained regular contact with itineraries and confirmation of bookings, arranging everything from the airport pickup through to our final drop off at the end of the tour. The safari tour itself was exceptional with great accommodation and the tours well staffed and well planned to maximise our time seeing the animals. On the last day we asked if we could book an additional sunset tour before leaving and Mike and Kylie worked hard to slot this in and make all the arrangements. Not everything on a safari tour works seamlessly but with Kruger Park Travel we were made to feel that no problem was too small and that they were only ever a phone call away. Would highly recommend time and time again.
