Astonishingly beautiful
Overall rating
5/5

Ngorongoro has been my favorite national park from our trip, where we also visited Serengeti, Tarangire and Manyara. The crater has a special climate, it is nevertheless on about 2,000 metres above sea level and there have always been some clouds on the crater rim, which made a great atmosphere. Compared to other national parks the crater seems so manageable - you kind of feel, that you can comprehend the whole place. But it nevertheless offers an amazing amount of wildlife and nature: jungle, lakes, a forrest, steppe etc. We've seen huge elephants, lots and lots of gnu's, gazelles and zebras, pumbas, ostriches, hyaenas, hippos, lots of lions, and also some rhinos. We spend our night at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, which is an amazing place, with an outstanding view over the crater. But the street to get there is awful, it took us forever on this wild road.

Fantastic 5 Star Luxury Safari with Tembo Adventure and Safaris
5/5

We were fortunate to have selected Tembo Adventure and Safaris for our trip to Africa this year. This is a top notch tour company owned and operated by a native Tanzanian family. Not only do they know the country and the animals like the back of their hand, but your tour dollars stay local and support the local economy and do not go a big multinational corporation. This was important to us as the local Tanzanian people are the ones who really work hard to protect their native wildlife.

Our 2 week Safari started in Arusha after an overnight flight from the states. We were greeted at Kilimanjaro International Airport at 0100AM by our English speaking tour guides in a nice clean 4X4 Toyota Landcruiser and promptly escorted to a beautiful 5 star hotel in Arusha. The following day we started our trip to Tarangire National park, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park. Each day we spent on game drives sighting and photographing wildlife of all sorts including but not limited to lions, elephants, black rhinos, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, leopards dik diks, Impalas, hippos, alligators, and many many others. Our guides were able to get us into the middle of the wildebeest migration and we were able to see first hand the hundreds of thousands of animals traveling across the plains of the Serengeti. Each night we stayed in luxury accommodations. Sometimes lodges and sometimes tented camps but each location was top notch and we were well taken care of by our Tembo guides and the hotel staff. Food was excellent and plentiful. We had numerous boxed picnic lunches outside on the game drives and each one was tasty and filing. Food was so plentiful that we actually gave our lunch left-overs to the less fortunate people in the area. Dinners and breakfasts were often a large buffet of western (US and European) and local dishes so we had opportunity to sample much of the local cuisine. The entire trip went off without a hitch and our guides worked tirelessly to ensure that we saw every type of game imaginable and that we were happy and healthy the entire trip.

I cannot say enough good things about Tembo Adventure and Safari. They truly made a good trip into a fantastic trip. Trust them to make your add-on arrangements to Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro or anything else your heart desires. They are true professionals with a local flair who will ensure that your trip to Africa is fun, safe and rewarding.

4 days we will never forget
5/5

4 years ago we did a safari with another company. This year, recommended by friends, we booked African Mosaic Tours (AMT).
The difference has a name: George, our guide.
He knows everybody and everything, and, most important: he is not only a paid guide, he makes you feel like a friend, like beeing at home. Just feeling well.
If you're going to book a safari, try to get George, you will not regret it.

What is also good at AMT is: They are very flexible with the route, the price is negotiable, the cars are neat. We were really impressed.
Tip: If financially possible, book the jeep, not a group travel.

Wildebeest is a superb company! They came to the rescue when another person was unable to take us to the parks. The guide was kind, professional and knowledgeable. His peaceful and easy going demeanor made my party and me feel comfortable and secure. I highly recommend Wildebeest! They are fabulous at what they do.

Our private mobile Safari in Botswana was simply perfect.
5/5

Our family (two adults, two teenagers) made a one week private mobile Safari with Kalahari Skies in Botswana (Chobe Waterfront, Savuti, Khwai River, Moremi). Everything was perfect: Organisation, food, accommodation (big tents with private "bathrooms", fully equipped safari beds etc). We saw an incredible amount of animals in a beautiful landscape. And the crew was phantastic. Max, our guide, is simply outstanding in his knowledge about animals and plants, and -more than this- a very nice guy who became a friend during our trip.

Beautiful experience!

We had a very good time in Uganda, most of all because of our excellent guide Bella!
We did a round trip in Uganda with a wide variety of activities: visiting locals, Natural Parks, nature, ....

Everything we asked was no problem for Bella, all problems/questions were solved with a smile!
A smile we will never forget!!

If we go back to Africa, it will certainly be with Bella!
Thank you for everything!!

Slow and rude to respond, then failed to organise the few things left to him
3/5

Indigo safaris were sometimes slow to respond. The scanned documentation provided failed to give enough information, which also led to some confusion, for example exactly which side of Victoria Falls we were visiting. There was also a breakdown of communication between Indigo Safaris and the 3rd party safari provider in Kasane which resulted in us waiting from 6 am until 7:30 am to go on safari.

We had asked for a game drive as early as possible, as this is the ideal time to see birds. Along with an evening boat trip - also ideal as you get to see an amazing sunset. What was arranged was a mid morning boat trip, followed by a game drive starting at 1:30pm, i.e. the heat of the day. When I pushed back about this, I was told via email:

"All that has happened is that they have been switched round as Kalahari Tours have put their scheduled game drives on in the afternoon and boat cruises in the morning as they that gives better results."

When I said this was not what we wanted, or paid for, and gave good reasons, I was then told:

"I can ask to move the boat safari earlier, but doubt it will be much earlier.

The afternoon game drive in Chobe is a group activity, as you know, and the focus is going to be on animals and they love to go to the river to drink when it’s hot."

I then pushed harder, with an emphasis on how I felt we would see more first thing. The trip was then changed to what we wanted. Albeit on the day the change had not made it to the schedule, hence standing around for an hour and a half. Plus Christopher continued to argue the case for midday safaris. Perhaps he should put that as a unique feature of his safaris!
