Great Experiences!
My wife & I have been on four Safaris with Lourens at African Big 5 Safaris. When we first met Lourens he visited us to outline exactly what we could expect, the level of accommodation we would get & approx what we would see. Although with wild animals nothing is guaranteed, we have seen the Big 5 on every trip. I have to say we were not disappointed, the trips we have made with African Big 5 Safaris have met & exceeded all our expectations. On each of our trips we have managed to experience something different. In Kenya, a Hot Air Balloon ride. Our first trip to Kruger the accommodation was spectacular! In Botswana, after 4 days on a house boat, we did a helicopter flight over the magnificent Victoria Falls. On our most recent trip to Kruger we saw 9 leopards in 11 days!
I would thoroughly recommend this company to anyone who is considering a Safari!

Everything we expected, and so much more. Lourens is a wonderful guide and a great bloke. Best trips we've ever taken.

Lifetime memories with Africa Big 5 Safaris
My most recent Safari was to Botswana with African Big 5 Safaris, and I already knew that I was in for a treat as it was my 3rd time in 3 years on safari with Lourens the owner operator of African Big 5 Safaris.
Nothing is too much trouble for Lourens, you will be looked after like royalty...
Satisfaction all the way from flights, accommodation and food, and of course mostly value for money.
There is nothing in this world like waking in the morning just to think of the fantastic day that lies ahead for you, every day and almost every minute holds something special that just gets better and better with each sighting.
If you have ever thought of a safari, I can honestly recommend African Big 5 Safaris for creating memories that will last a lifetime, and just like me you will be yearning for that safari feeling again.

Wonderful dedicated staff who ensured we had the best experience possible.
This safari went well beyond my expectations. Chris and Nicky were wonderful to deal with and made us feel comfortable at all times. Their knowledge of the animals and obvious delight in experiencing the sightings with us made it really special. I feel a bit spoilt as I can't imagine a better way to see so many wonderful sights and animals in such a short amount of time. The opportunity to take our time and really enjoy what we were experiencing was perfect. Thank you so much!

Reputable and reliable
Dave was calm and confident. Knowledgable and attentive to my travel needs. He assured the planning was thorough and follow up calls were completed during the trip to be sure I was well taken care of. I experienced integrity and genuine care with Great Safaris from the beginning to end of my trip.

A great safari experience
I booked my safari through KM Safaris and had a great individual luxury tour with my own driver and guide. With game drives in Tsavo National Park and Maasai Mara and a visit to Diani Beach this safari includes it all. The tour is flexible and can be adapted to what you want to see and experience during your stay. Martin has been very accomodating and helpful to make this tour a great experience as possible. Highly recommended for individuals, couples, groups and for anyone who want to experience the greatest wildlife of Kenya within a single trip.

Two weeks of perfection
We had a brillaint time. Apart frm it being a beautiful place we had lovely accomodations where we were put up. The best thing about chalo Africa was the like mindedness with Smita! It made all the difference while organising and planning and especially beacuse everything was perfect and suited us. The support we recieved was great! And they just understood us every step of the way!
My trip
The parks are quiet and the guides excellent. We particularly enjoyed the adventure camp experience and will definitely do this again. It was also the first time we have flown between parks, it made the trip more expensive but with our limited time it made sense and was a great experience. All our connections worked like clockwork and the overnight international flight helps to maximise time on holiday. What was great was that the day travelling between parks was set up to include two game drives so it didn't feel like a transit day and in fact included two of our most exciting sightings of leopard and lions.
We chose the parks from the excellent reviews we had read on the website. The brochure pictures of wild dogs are perhaps misleading as the local guides said their range is so huge you are unlikely to see them and we are realistic enough to know that these are very difficult to see.

Photo Tour in Kruger National Park
This was a small scale and informal trip within Kruger NP for 11 days which is designed especially for keen photographers.
The vehicle is equipped with swivel mounts which work well and our hosts/guides Lourens and Bernhard were very knowledgeable.
The trip exceeded all expectations as we saw plenty of animals. Importantly, we had no time pressure to move on, so we were able to stay with good sightings and get plenty of photos.
For safety reasons, you are required to be back at camp between sunrise and sunset, and you can only get out of the vehicles at designated stops. Hence there little prospect of doing landscape photography! We travelled a long way into the park and spent 2 nights at each rest camp. We used both sealed and gravel roads and both provided us with plenty of opportunities.
The accommodation, food and facilities provided by the National Park operators were reasonable but lacked polish, and service levels were often low (as you would probably expect in a NP). Usually there was no WiFi available so you need to have your own plan.
Highly recommended if you want to see plenty of wildlife , and like no fuss, good value, informal touring.
