Amazing... everyone should visit this place.

I had read that November was not the best time to visit most parks in Tanzania but was pleasantly surprised. I saw pretty much every animal i had been told I could see at this park in reasonable numbers. The weather was dry and sunny with a cool breeze during drives. The guide was amazing, the staff at the company Sandland Tours were an example in superuior customer service even in the most basic conditions and I wished I could be on safari forever.

very nice holiday
5/5

we had a very nice holiday, everything went very smoothly and was as good as promised. Our driver was nice (I believe his name was Oscar, I would absolutely recommend him), accurate, friendly and knows Kenya and its history well. The tented camps were all clean, stuff friendly and polite. the only thing that bothered was lack of hot water in one of the tented camps, but after all - this is Africa :). Great views! I do recommend this company.

A beautiful holiday in KZN
5/5

Thanks to TMS, we have an amazing journey in KZN. The information booklet, the written-out program, the phone and the navigationsystem were important to the success. Also the guidance of the staff was excellent.

The namibian green area.
Overall rating
4/5

It's just a place that you don't expect, specially if you come from Sossusvlei or Etosha (very dry areas). The park has stunning views and is full of green, something that you miss in the country. Is a very recomendable alternative place to make a couple of nights during your road trip. Wildlife is not the most spectacular thing, even though you will see mongoose, baboons, warthogs, dick dick, hyrax, giraffe and if you're lucky rhinos, eland or roan antelope.

Wonderful experience - safe and awe - inspiring
5/5

I was hesitant at first. A small company with so many other big ones with (presumably) better facilities and more experience. How wrong was I?
Java is headed up by Catherine who is a fount of knowledge - she's lived there for years and knows everyone. She knows how to make things happen, where to get the best experiences, the great drivers, the most beautiful views. She's smart, sassy and well-connected and hugely respected by the locals. I was literally blown away by the entire experience in Tanzania.
I was ill on the trip (nobody's fault - just really bad migraine) - and she made sure I was looked after, got the meds I needed and even managed to tweak our trip to ensure I didn't miss the highlights. We spent the day in the Ngorogoro Crater, and another at Tarangire, I lunched at Crater Lodge, stayed at Gibbs Farm, where we saw bush babies in the grounds - heavenly! The itinerary was perfect - brilliantly timed between go, go, go and rest periods in beautiful places to recover. The food was heavenly everywhere we ate too. Can you tell I loved it - lol! Book with confidence - and much excitement!

Just go do it!
4/5

I went on a the 3-Day Cultural tour with Heather as my guide. I had the opportunity to meet with a Maasai medicine men, go on a game drive of Ngorongoro Crater, learn bout the Iraqw tribe in Karatu, and went with Hunting with the Hadzabe! This was one of the wildest and memorable experiences of my life.

To top it off, it is great to know that my visit to these villages helps to preserve and promote their cultural heritage.

A memorable experience in every way

This was our first trip to South Luangwa, indeed our first to Zambia having usually visited Tanzania. We stayed at the Shenton camps - Kaingo and Mwamba and they were absolutely perfect. Small and very friendly with wonderful food, great accommodation and very knowledgeable staff and guides. We were collected from the airport and had a very enjoyable 'safari' to the first camp. We were blessed with good weather all the time we were there and enjoyed our twice (sometimes three) daily game drives from completely open vehicles which was very welcome as we are photographers with long lenses. The park is very well managed and maintained, and the wildlife sightings were phenomenal. Thanks to our brilliant guide/driver, we had 24 separate leopard sightings, and were fortunate enough to see the Pel's Fishing Owl several times. As for the Carmine Bee-eaters - well!! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in South Luangwa and will most definitely be returning.
