Great lions safaris provided amazing service with a wonderful tour guide. I highly recommend it!
4/5

I recently travelled on a 10-Day Wildlife Adventure, Gorillas and Chimps Safari From start to finish, this was an amazing experience. Great lions safaris was extremely professional at all times. Prior to booking, they were very helpful with addressing any queries I had and made the whole booking process very easy. After booking, my flight was unexpectedly changed pushing back my arrival to Uganda by 12hours but Great lions safaris was very accommodating by pushing back my tour start time. Any queries I had in relation to the tour were very quickly answered and addressed

In terms of the tour itself, this was incredible. Uganda is a beautiful country with so much to offer. I had a custom itinerary which involved gorilla trekking in Bwindi, chimp trekking in Kibale National Park, game drives/boat trips in Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Park. I also got to interact with local communities and see what life is like in different parts of Uganda.

My guide Dominic was a great person and very knowledgeable about Uganda and I learned a lot about the country from him. There were some long drives but he made the experience very easy and enjoyable with lots of stopovers and jokes

The accommodation and meals were of a high standard

Overall I would highly recommend choosing Great lions safaris as your preferred Tour operator and Uganda as a travel destination in the world

Amazing tour through Uganda (Pearl of Africa) with Great lions safaris

I spent 7 days travelling through Uganda mainly for Gorilla trekking experience Before I booked the journey, Great lions safaris gave me all the necessary information about the tour and was excellent. Justus always came back to me very quickly every time I had a question and helped with everything he could.

Once I arrived in Uganda my guide Godfrey picked me up at the airport and the journey began.

I really had the most awesome time in Uganda. Godfrey was such an amazing guide, who took very good care of me and always went the extra mile to make this trip unforgettable.
He had such a great knowledge of the wildlife, the people and every aspect of this beautiful country that a visitor could ask for. There was nothing else that I could have asked for.

This was a trip that I would live to cherish and I would highly recommend Great lions safaris for the excellent work done towards helping me out during my stay in Uganda

How Uganda ended up as our favorite ever Travel destination

I rarely get to write reviews, but our trip to Uganda was so fantastic that the chance to relive it a month and so later in a review was too good to pass up.
My wife and I were looking to travel to Uganda principally to see the Gorillas in Bwindi, and then to see as much other wildlife as we could while we were there. We requested a number of quotes from a variety of tour operators, but Great lions safaris stood out for the responsiveness of their communication, the clear detail in their general itineraries. We settled on one of their stock itineraries that would take us via Kibale-Queen Elizabeth-Bwindi-Mburu to do a variety of different wildlife experiences including the chimps and gorillas. They were very responsive in answering any questions both before and after booking. I have to say I did feel slightly apprehensive about making the quite large payments, but I was able to do this on a credit card (for a small additional fee) which gave me the confidence to send this off to a company I’d discovered only a few weeks earlier. I probably needn’t have worried.

When it came to our tour itself, I think it’s safe to say pretty much everything exceeded our expectations. We were collected promptly from our hotel in Entebbe by our guide Dominic, who then stayed with us for the remainder of our 9 days tour along with the 4x4 vehicle that was our private vehicle. Dominic was genuinely fantastic and really made our trip in so many ways, he was very knowledgeable about all the things we did, and managed some of those animal spottings where you just don’t know how someone with regular human eyes could’ve possibly spotted them, a pair of lions in a cactus tree in Queen Elizabeth national park was a particular highlight.

In terms of the other elements of the tour, all our accommodation was in the “nice budget” category, and these were all to a good standard with most having some real wow factor. Particularly the view from the Eagles Nest lodge in Mburo, which was the eventual winner of our favourite lodge award, in what was a pretty close contest. The food everywhere we stayed was plentiful, tasty and had enough variety to keep us happy, but probably isn’t what you’ll be reminiscing about.

I will just finish by noting that whilst the tour we did, did involve a lot of driving 4 or 5 hours every other day on average, the whole itinerary generally felt really well paced ad was worth it.

Quick response and good attitude tho need to be more detailed in arrangement
4/5

Everything was all good. They have excellent service and quick response to any issue that occurred in the trip. Just to make sure all the details (morning drive/ night drive/ hotels)in itinerary are right as you planned as there were some differences in the end.

5 Day calving Season. Good, with unfortunate communication issues.
4/5

I travelled on a 5 day safari with Meijo Safaris through Tarangire, Ndutu and Serengeti with my wife, mother and mother in law.
We saw a lot of animals, including the big 5 and calving during the great migration. We expeienced an excellent hot air balloon flight over Ndutu which was absolutely a highlight of the journey.
Tanzania is spectacular and the wildlife is quite incredible. There is absolutely no place on earth like the Ngorongoro Crater. The downside to such a place is that it is so busy. You cannot get near an animal without 5-15 other vehicles. This volume of vehicles also make the main roads to the Sertengeti a dust bowl that is very unpleasant to traverse.
The accomodations organised by Daudi and Meijo were wonderful, they were beautiful and comfortable with excellent food.
Daudi was reasonably good to communicate with and I believe that he wants to provide a good service to his customers.
Unfortunately our time with Meijo was negatively impacted by some issues. The itinerary that was proviced to us, did not match up exactly with our experience due to permits at the locations we visited. This was not helped by the lack of clear communication around the reason that we were not following the itinerary.
Our hot air balloon flight was apparently booked the day before, this was booked on a different day entirely to the schedule. This did turn out to be a preferential location to do the flight, but again the lack of communication left us in the dark.
Our driver did not seem at all enthusiastic and was, I believe, the cause for many of the communication issues. We were told a few things by our driver that were not correct or were not as per the schedule and had to contact Daudi to attempt to get the correct information or rectify unapproved cancellations of scheduled activities.

We mostly enjoyed our Safari with Meijo, but I would be hesitant to rebook with them when there are so many options available.

Our maiden trip to Africa with Serengity Clarity was Amazing!
4/5

Our safari guide with Serengity Clarity, Adrian, was super nice and resourceful. He was very familiar with the game routes all over Tanzania, and we caught a glimpse of all the big five during our safari rides. The agency had some rough edges when it comes to coordinating pickups from/to airport. the local TZ airlines were unreliable given missing baggage and cancelled flights but the agency did their best to accommodate the changes around them. Overall, happy with Frank and the Serengity Clarity team.

Visit of Victoria Falls
4/5

The guide we had was very helpful and showed us the most important views of the falls. Since we could not walk all the way we had to miss a view viewpoints but we saw the most important ones.

Accommodating and excellent experience seeing calving season!
4/5

We had an amazing and unforgettable experience on our safari with Baccari as our guide! The experience is one we will remember forever! Seeing these animals in their natural habitat like this is so eye opening. We went during calving season and did a 5 day safari in February. We went to Tarangeri, Serengeti, Ndutu, and Ngorongoro crater. Seeing the great migration near Ndutu during calving season with all the wildebeest calves was a highlight! Because Baccari was a great guide we were able to see so many amazing animals like birds and lions and dik diks and rhinos. Baccari listened to what we wanted to see, and made sure to stop by and see the animals that interested us the most! The lodging was perfect and extremely nice at each location, with exceptional food. It was initially booked as a solo trip; but the company was accommodating and was able to allow me to add a friend to the itinerary with only 1 months notice. They were also accommodating about picking us up at the airport, as our arriving flights had to be different.

Only thing preventing it from being 5 stars is that there was some mistake regarding admission to the national parks and conservation areas, resulting in us waiting for extended periods of time at the park entrances. Also; they were a bit slow to respond to emails and answer questions when planning the safari, but I have heard that is typical for Tanzania!

Thank you so much to Great Lions Safari and to Justus for my tour in Uganda!

Justus communicated the itinerary with me beforehand and kept in contact. He was an excellent driver and used lovely accommodations during the tour.

I would recommend him to others; thank you for hosting a truly memorable experience for me.
