Very accommodating, just beware of potential downsides to group safaris
4/5

African Chitah came out as the best option for joining a two day group safari to Tarangire and Ngorongoro: they were the cheapest option and willing to accommodate a request for a specific lodge at the edge of Ngorongoro. They were very helpful and communicative in arranging a rented camera and dealing with issues that came up (e.g. the road to my lodge was so muddy that our car got stuck). The “group safari” setup (or join safari as they call it) is quite intriguing: clients from different companies seem to be put together in an intricate logistical puzzle that involves separate drivers for transfers from town (in normal cars) and safari guides. I liked that it makes efficient use of resources, but it also has its downsides. The focus on efficiency gave me the impression that the guides chose routes through the parks that were more fuel-economic, like when we spotted an elephant in Ngorongoro and the driver didn’t want to make the detour despite everyone in the car asking for it. The safari cars were also clearly older and for some reason didn’t have the radio to hear from other drivers where wildlife was spotted. On my way from Arusha I was taken by two different drivers and then handed over to the guides at the central gathering point (Panorama), who were not informed about the specifics of my itinerary and initially wanted to change my specifically requested hotel - which had been the primary reason I booked with Chitah. When I protested they quickly accepted this and accommodated the schedule as planned - but it does mean you need to stand up for yourself and be a bit vigilant that things go as planned and everybody knows where you’re supposed to go. Another downside is that there’s more waiting time involved. In the morning there’s a breakfast as clients gather (even though I had breakfast already), and after tarangire I had to wait at a gas station for over an hour for some other clients who also needed to go to Arusha, because their safari - in the same park! - was still ongoing, which felt a bit like I had drawn the short straw in terms of how much safari time I got.

All in all the experience was pretty good, we got to see some great animals, but it is good to be mindful of how the group safaris are organized.

Nice safari, beautiful landscape and truely the home of elephants
4/5

The Safari with Tall Masai Safaris was very nice. We were lucky to see lots of elephants and hippos and this trip. We also did a walking safari with a great view on the Mount Kilimanjaro. The landscape was stunning.

Our driver Clinton was experienced and we felt save even though the terrain was not the easiest due to previous rainfalls. It would have been nice if he had explained some more about the National Park and its animals. But thats just a small suggestion for improvement. All in all it was a very good experience. Thanks for that

kind and helpful
4/5

the safari was a magnificent experience! We managed to see many animals and despite the somewhat uncertain weather the tour operator always managed to find solutions (not letting us sleep in a tent due to rain). The food was very good with many options for vegetarians too.
The accommodations were equipped with electrical sockets and wifi. Guides certainly need to improve their communication of important information such as timetables and general organization. Guides are available on request

Generally good.

My positive feedback is for our guide Dennis, although there are some minor flaws,  it does not affect him is a guide worthy of recommendation. Thanks to Dennis's professionalism and hard work, we were lucky enough to see the Big Five and Five Ugly on the trip, and he ALWAYS gave us the best position to take photos! We were so happy and appreciate!!There were also some unsatisfactory points in the trip. In Masai Mara, we stayed in Serena Safari Lodge, the roof of our room leaked severely due to heavy rain at night. The leaking place happened to be in the position of the bed, causing the sheets and quilts to be very wet, and the dripping noise kept me up all night. The next day, I reported that to the reception and received a response like "OK,I will change your room then". There is no sincerely formal apology at all! It's so frustrating,I informed Dennis and Candy about it,they both replied that they will communicate with Serena, but I have not received any further response from either them or Serena regarding this matter. I think a good safari operator is not just about making us to have fun,but more importantly, to protect our rights and interests, because accommodations are booked by operator. Unfortunately, Kameraz failed to do so for us.

Safe drive and good cars
4/5

We used Safari link for all our transferts and it was perfect. The cars are always comfortable and big enough and you have a trailer for your luggage so you have even more space inside the vehicle. The drivers are also really good. We had Victor twice for a 6h drive and it was both time safe and comfortable. He always wanted to be nice , he explained the story of the county and he know a lot about nature and was happy to give us a lot of information. He even adapted to us for breaks and stops on the road, that was really kind of him ! He is a very nice person and thanks to him we arrive at the airport on time and safe.
Our first driver Calvin was also really nice and he came with water in the car which was super appreciated! He drive us to Kruger safely and we were glad to share with him some South African culture.

I recommend this company for their really good drivers, the confort of the cats and their experience.

If I may suggest maybe more communication with customers, we had a issue with a road block due to riots that extended our drive for more than 3hours and with more communication we could have managed our time differently but with chance our driver Victor adapted the travel itinerary, called the lodge to make sure they waited for us for the lunch and game drive and he was very pleased to share is knowledge of the land, waterfall, Blyde River history and it was super interesting!

The price can be negotiable. The guides are good. The service and value for money is okay. I would like to recommend other travelers to use this company.

Perfect
4/5

Spectacular experience, driver (Jack) very friendly and concerned about everyone's comfort.
I didn't like the first accommodation so much, because they didn't have hot water or Wi-Fi as they promise to have!

We had a wonderful experience with our guide Ludovico
4/5

The communication with Raja Tours was quite minimal- in the end we had last minute to change the date of our trip-
Fortunately we could make it!- And we finally had a wonderful day with our guide Ludovico in Nyerere national park. He gave everything to show us many animals as possible- it was adventurous and we saw a lot of interesting landscapes & wildlife animals- except of the lion- He had gone into hiding to digest the giraffe meat from the previous day.... The camp was a little bit outside of the park but was perfect too!
Thanks also for the second day (river safari-and: Guided tour with Mickey in Stone Town) :)
