Even if you are unlucky enough to not see much wildlife, this park is totally worth it just for its scenery. Astounding landscapes, some of the flattest plains I've seen, and being surrounded by mountain cliffs everywhere gives the whole park a very different feeling from any other. But wildlife is also everywhere! WE got to see a great migration of wildebeest, zebras and buffaloes, herds that seemed to never end. The lions where just around the corner, keeping an eye on the herds, and we got to see them really, really up close. And so many other animals, it almost feels impossible to name them all!
A park I would highly recommend. If you can only see one park, choose this one!

Do not miss travel destination

Safari in Kenya was an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience. My friend and I went on a 4 day safari from Nairobi to Masai Mara and Nakuru. Masai Mara is a huge African savannah full of wildlife. On our first day in the park we saw 4 of the Big 5 within just a few hours. Nakuru is a smaller park centered around a lake home to over 300 species of bird. It is also one of the best places in the world to see rhinos. We saw several black and white rhinos during our day in the park. In between both parks we also made a stopover at a different lake where we took a boat ride to see hippos in the water and take a walking safari on the lake's peninsula. The walking safari was one of my favorite moments from the trip. We were within 15 ft of zebra and giraffes. I highly recommend not to miss the incredible wildlife this destination has to offer.

About: Uganda
Beautiful place, friendly people!

I greatly enjoyed my tour of Uganda. Uganda has a variety of terrain, from savannas to mountains. I visited Murchison Falls and the national park, then Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Bwindi Inpenetrable Forest for a mountain Gorilla trek. All stunning. The people of Uganda are very friendly and even as a solo traveler I always felt safe. I would very much recommend Uganda as a destination.

Excellent place with great potential

Magnificent sceneries. Mosquitoes are NOT an issue if you travel in May (dry season) - we only noticed a small handful throughout our 12+ day trip. Even sunscreen seemed not so necessary because our trips often involved shades from cars, boats or under trees. (do bring it though).

Bush vibe:
Pros: Dirt roads, huge unfenced parks, mostly no mass tourism accommodations. Very few tourists in central kalahari.
Cons: Some self-drive tourists using their own cars and not contributing to the local economy. More tourists in Chobe.
Unfortunately a lot of garbage, like everyone on this fragile planet.

Overall a definitely worthwhile visit!

A bit lacking in atmosphere.

Staying in one of the larger lodges with lots of other people around & driving on tarmac roads a fair amount of the time with a number of private vehicles on the roads then I did think the actual safari experience was a bit lacking. (Private concessions & smaller lodges would be completely different). You do get close to the animals - closer than in a lot of places as they are used to the vehicles so it really depends what you go for. Having only spent a couple of days in one area then again it would make sense to go to different areas for slightly different experiences (although obviously if you drive down the same road an hour later you might see different things). Guides & vehicles are good. Weather wasn't particularly good when I was there - so this probably tempers the review !

About: Tanzania
Increíble beyond my Imagination
Overall rating
5/5

We safaried in Tanzania 11 days in June hoping to see the Great Wildebeest Migration. The wildlife sightings were beyond our wildest imaginations. The wildebeest must have been a million +. Zebras-Half a million+. After 20 lions and 20 cheetahs and 20 elephants we lost count. The black rhino and the leopard were the only animals we only saw one of each. Safari Soles and our driver Isaack were amazing as well. I have no doubt their skills made our trip to Tanzania the perfect experience to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.
