Fantastic safari, excellent customer care
5/5

I can highly recommend Kichaka as a safari operator. We travelled to Amboseli, Naivasha, Nakuru and the Mara over 9 days, and had an an amazing experience.

We had been on the brink of booking with Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris and were incredibly lucky we didn’t (read the TripAdvisor reviews!). Naturally we were therefore a bit apprehensive when booking through another local operator, and chose Kichaka as they are members of KATO so that we felt we had some sort of financial protection. We needn’t have worried. Geophrey was incredibly helpful in putting together a suitable itinerary, answered all emails promptly and allowed full flexibility with regard to itinerary and accommodation choices. He kept us informed about bookings, sending confirmation vouchers and updates. He also met us at the airport on arrival, along with our guide Victor, to double check we were happy with everything. The Kichaka office were constantly in contact with our guide throughout the trip to ensure everything was going to plan.

All the accommodation choices as recommended by Geophrey were excellent, very comfortable with good food and exemplary service.

Our guide Victor was without doubt the star of the show. Throughout the trip he was friendly, enthusiastic, incredibly knowledgeable and clearly keen for us to see as much as possible. This was exemplified by taking a couple of detours on entering the Mara late in the afternoon to see a leopard and a pair of cheetahs, even though we had been on the road for many hours and the easy thing would have been to head straight to the camp for the evening. Despite him feeling a bit under the weather for the last couple of days, his mood never dropped.

On returning to Nairobi we were once again met by Geophrey to see how we’d enjoyed the trip, and gather any feedback we had on possible ways to improve their service. Judging by the number of different companies’ safari vehicles we saw on the road, this is clearly an incredibly crowded marketplace and we felt that Kichaka’s focus on customer service helps set them apart from their rivals. We would have no hesitation in using their services again.

Great company with wonderful staff
5/5

The team at Wild Dog Safaris organized a self-drive trip for us. Everything was arranged perfectly and the 4x4 vehicle was in excellent condition. It was one of the best Africa trips I made. Namibia is such a beautiful country. I would recommend Wild Dog Safaris to friends and family any day.

The best safari experience - trustable and experienced guides took us through the secrets of Africa!
5/5

The safari was a great experience in all dimensions - the Uganda people were very nice and friendly, the landscape was beautiful and diverse - from the falls at Murchison to the Savannah in Queen Elizabeth National Park or the Victoria lake, and the animals were often in very close contact, from the river and lakes to the Savannah, including Rhinos, elephants, lions, hippos, giraffes, crocodiles, impalas, baboons, etc.
The guide and driver - Mohamad and our host, Jennifer were fantastic - very knowledgeable and committed as well as trustable, they drove us for over 2000 kms in difficult but beautiful roads, very safely and a set of great hotels and resorts have provided all the relax we needed after the long and exciting daily journeys. The 4 wheel drive Toyota took all of us - 6 tourists plus the 2 hosts in all the comfort provided by individual chairs and when opened, the rooftop allowed for great opportunities for photos and videos - fantastic vehicle!
All in all, a great and unforgettable experience! It was an unantecipated journey well worth for unveilling the hidden and amazing natural world of Africa.

Amazing Safari with Amazing Memories
5/5

My husband and I just returned from an 11-day safari in Kenya and Tanzania, and we will enjoy "amazing memories" for the rest of our lives, thanks to the advice, planning, and execution provided by Anne and her staff. When we first started planning this safari, we were literally overwhelmed by the large number of safari companies and tours available. We chose Amazing Memories based on the favorable reviews it had received -- and without question, we made the right choice. From the very start, we knew that we were in excellent hands, as Anne was terrific to deal with. She replied to all of our e-mails promptly, answered all of our many questions, made appropriate suggestions, and customized our itinerary and accommodations to meet our budget. We were fortunate to meet Anne, and she is as wonderful in person as she sounds in her e-mails.

We spent 2 days in Ol Pejeta (great for viewing rhinos), 1 day at Lake Naivasha (hippos at night on the lawn of the country club were amazing), 3 days in Masai Mara, 2 days in Serengeti, 2 days in Ngorongoro, and 1 day in Amboselli (largest elephant herds that we saw). The lodgings Anne recommended in each location were excellent, staff was very friendly, buffets were plentiful and good. The most important thing, of course, were the game drives, and they were superb due to our outstanding guides. James was our guide in Kenya for the first leg of our safari and became our friend. He had an incredible skill in finding the various animals, and we saw the Big Five within the first few days of our safari. In addition, he was a wealth of information about the animals and their behavior, the areas through which we traveled, the various local tribes and villagers. Ikamba, our guide in Tanzania, and Daniel, our guide upon our return to Kenya, were similarly knowledgeable and personable. Aside from being great guides, they also were great drivers on the often challenging trails in the game parks and knew how to position the vehicles for optimal photos. Moreover, they "shepherded" us through the border crossings and made sure that our check-ins at our various lodgings went smoothly. Since so much time is spent with the guides and the success of the game drives depends on them, it is critical that they be top-notch, and James, Ikamba, and Daniel certainly were.

One final note. Planning a safari (especially for the first time) can be daunting, and choosing the right tour operator can make the difference between a marvelous experience and a mediocre one. Amazing Memories Safaris lives up to its name -- it is truly amazing and does not disappoint. Our safari was as perfect as a vacation can be, and we are grateful to Anne and Amazing Memories for making it so. We recommend them most highly and without reservation.

A bucket list experience enhanced by the exceptional field (and office) personnel.
5/5

From Samantha's setup online to the exceptional field safari crew of Moola, Douglas, Bafani, and Keokeditswe (aka K. K.), Wilderness dawning hits a home run for tenting immersion safari. We did Okavango and Chobe areas ending in Livingstone Zambia. Although at my age tenting and cots is roughing it a bit, the crew made the experience as comfortable and exciting as possible. They also offer lodges and a houseboat experience with a little more comfort provided. The knowledge of our born and raised Botswana guide KK was unquestionable. We experienced every animal to be expected in the region, except for the elusive Cheeta. KK was even able to seek out a pair of newborn Lion kittens w. mom, hiding out under a dense thorn bush. The camp crew provided some of the best open fire cooking I have ever experienced. The fresh baked bread and cakes, and various cuisines were fantastic! Leopards (6), a pride of 24 lions, as well as many lesser groups or singles, hundreds of elephants, thousands of water buffalo and Impalla, water buck, Kudus, mongoose of several species, Ostrich, Hyena, wild dog packs, hundreds of colourful birds and Giraffes, Hippos, Crocs, Warthogs and much much more! The timing in October seemed good as well, with an extended dry season, verging on drought, just before the rains are to come. If I had any one thing to make issue with (small potatoes!), it would be the sticky zippers on the tents.

Stole our $4000 deposit and still waiting to hear back! DO NOT USE THEM!
1/5

We planned our honeymoon to Tanzania and after paying a $4000 deposit we were told corrupt people within the company stole money. Apparently they filed a lawsuit and Baraja has been telling us the money will be returned to us but now my emails have not been replied too. I cant believe they are still operating when they owe people SOOOOOO much money. Avoid this company at all costs as it could have ruined our honeymoon.

Everything you could hope for!
5/5

We recently went on a 3-week self-drive tour that was completely organized by Nature Travel Namibia. They booked us a 4x4 rental car with rooftop tents as well as all of our accommodations and some of the activities. Everything was organized exactly as we wanted, and we had no unpleasant surprises during our trip. Just the holiday you would hope for, nice and relaxing but also full of wonderful activities to enjoy the wildlife and landscapes to the fullest. Communication with Nature Travel prior to the trip all went very smooth, they are very friendly and helpful and always eager to assist you in any way possible. The tour itself was wonderful, we absolutely loved Namibia and will certainly be coming back! We will definitely book via Nature Travel again, so highly recommendable!
