Everything is possible with Mufasa T&T
We visited Kenya during very challenging times, when the second COVID 19 pandemic wave was at the peak. There were numerous restrictions, lockdown, and curfew in place. It was a very challenging time, but Mufasa Tours and Travels made it safe and easy!
We arrived in Kenya on 27 March 2021. Just a day prior our arrival, Kenyan president Kenyatta announced new restrictive measures and lockdown. The restrictions included lockdown and a ban on all nonessential movement between Kenyan regions (counties). Upon our arrival, we were confused and worried. The first thing what needed to be done was the revision of all our plans. So one of the first things that we did in Nairobi was the visit to Mufasa Tours and Travel's downtown office. We had exchanged several emails prior our arrival and they seemed to be highly professional. We wanted to find out if even there was a possibility of any real safari. Thanks to the great effort of Joseph and the rest of Mufasa team (that we highly appreciate and we will not forget), we managed to have our safari, regardless how unrealistically it seems at the times. As roads were closed, in few hours Joseph manage to find for us seats on tomorrow morning flight to Maasai Mara. We spent three beautiful days in Maasai Mara with local Maasai guide Benson. Benson was great, very professional with passion for his work. The Maasai Mara safari was something special. The experience of driving in Toyota land cruiser through all that mud and finding all that animals, it was one of the best adventures in our lives. A lot of adrenaline, we are thankful for such special experience. Special thanks to Benson for all memorable pictures (lioness feeding babies, cheetahs hunting, giraffes selfies, big lion posing only for us, sunset with elephants, Maasai village, etc.).
After three days, with the last flight from Maasai Mara, we manage to arrive in Nairobi just in time to meet with Joseph and our new guide / driver Ibrahim. Ibrahim took us to Lake Nivasha, we spent the night in a beautiful lodge at lake with hippos, and the next day we went to Amboseli. In Amboseli, Ibrahim made sure that we enjoy every minute of three-day visit. He is local Maasai from Amboseli and during one of our drives, we had the opportunity to meet his daughter and son. All the time, we felt safe and comfortable, every safari was enjoyable. We will never forget the sunrise from the balloon with white Kibo in the background.
Our initial plan was to go to Diani Beach after we finish with safari, unfortunately due to government restrictions it was impossible to go via train or plane. So we decided to ask Joseph once more for support, and once more Mufasa team proved to be safe and reliable. For an affordable price, Ibrahim took us with land cruiser to our hotel at Diani Beach. It was an excellent experience, driving through the western part of Kenya parallel to the Tanzania border. It is not a place that tourist visit often, basically it was one more safari. Worth to mention that land cruiser was always well equipped with water and we had all the time free Wi-Fi. Big thanks to Ibrahim for excellent driving, it took us around eight hours, but it was unique and worth experience.
On our way back, with still restrictions and curfew in place, of course that we contacted Joseph to get us back to Nairobi. This time with minivan by highway. Our next driver was Odhis, not less professional and reliable than Benson or Ibrahim.
Big thanks to Musafa Tours and Travels team for all organising and making possible our safari, despite impossible conditions. Big thanks to our guides / drivers for all smiles, friendliness, and answers to all our questions and requests. Thanks for making our vacation great despite so challenging conditions. Thank you for being our friends at any time, it was filling great to be in safe hands all the time. It's good to know that we have friends in Kenya.
One more big thanks to Joseph, Benson, Ibrahim, Odhis and the rest of Mufasa team.
Until the next safari, all the best from Croatia,
Ivona & Josip

Fantastic!
We so enjoyed the historical tour of Kampala. The vehicle was clean and in perfect repair. Guide is knowledgeable, beyond knowledgeable- more like a cultural ambassador for Buganda kingdom. You won’t regret your time spent on this tour. Can’t say enough!

Fantastic safari experience with Kili Slope!
I had a fantastic experience with Kili Slope Tours and Safaris! We spent one week traversing Serengeti, Ndutu, and Ngorongoro. We had a fantastic experience and I look forward to returning with Kili Slope! Everything went perfectly and I have nothing but positive remarks. Our driver Simon was exceptional and provided us with a fantastic experience. We saw countless leopards, lion, cheetah, and more. I was impressed with Kili Slope Tours for several reasons. Their equipment is high quality and maintained well. For example, the tread on the tires was VERY GOOD and this is important with the wed and muddy road conditions while on safari. Other vehicles with old tires would get stuck in the mud but we never had an issues. Additionally, the tents we used while camping were brand new, clean, and comfortable. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend Kili Slope to anyone looking for a great safari experience!

Attentive and professional
We are an older couple visiting our son and his family who live and work in Kampala. We will be here for several months so we expect to take several short excursions around Uganda while we’re here. I researched tour companies, selected what I believed to be the five best suited to provide what we wanted, and I contacted them, asking for itinerary proposals. Of the five Grassrootz was by far the most responsive and professional, and their representative here in Kampala, Anne, provided us with exactly what we wanted at a very competitive price. Although they were not the least expensive, I felt they were definitely the most professional, and I was confident in my choice.
Our first excursion included my wife and me plus our son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. We did a five day trip to Murchison Falls with Moses as our driver and guide. We were booked at the Murchison River Lodge which we found to be adequate to our needs, but not luxurious. It was quite acceptable. During our stay we did two game drives, a guided game walk, river cruises both upstream to the falls and downstream to the delta, and a drive to the top of the falls.
Although we were very happy with Grassrootz overall I have given them only four stars instead of five for what we felt was one shortcoming in their service. It is true that due to Covid 19 tourism in Uganda has been severely impacted, and lodges and services are only now recovering. As a result we felt that Grassrootz was not quite on top of the situation existing at Murchison Falls which impacted our overall experience. Highway and bridge construction through the park has seriously limited access to the game tracks north of the river, and the river is at perpetual flood stage due to a disastrous water management project. Bridge construction combined with discontinuation of ferry service due to flooding severely limited our ability to do game drives at optimal times as our lodge was on the south bank of the river. The flooding of the river has not only closed the hiking trail from the base to the top of the falls, but it has completely drowned the delta causing much of the birdlife that was there to relocate. I will reserve comment on these joint Chinese/Ugandan projects other than to say that I fear for the future of the park. In any case, I believe Grassrootz should have been more aware of the situation at Murchison, and they should have provided us with this information ahead of time.
In spite of this I continue to have confidence in Anne, and I look forward to working with her in planning more short excursions in Uganda during our prolonged stay. She has already given us a proposal for a trip to Lake Mburo and Kibale which we expect to do next. I believe Grassrootz is a five star operation with quality people, so I will continue to utilize their services, and I will write off our experience at Murchison Falls as just one more casualty of the Covid pandemic.
