This park has it all! Spend a few night at Mpila Camp and do self drives and you are likely to see a lot. As always you would be lucky to see leopards, but the rest of the big 5 is almsot a given. Cheetahs and wild dogs are alo not uncommon. Birding is excellent as well, with lots of birds of prey.

The safaris were amazing! I saw the Big Five plus so much more. Just being in the vibration of the wild is life changing. I was there for a week and would suggest two 3-4 night stays in different camps/lodges to maximize locations and sitings but not have to move around too much.

It's one of those special places where you feel alone with the African wildlife.

I didn't just go on safari at Tembe, I actually worked there for over a year, and it became a home away from home. Of all the parks I've visited, no other makes you feel this intimate with the African bush. Although wildlife is a bit harder to find here thant other places, the sightings you will get are often very up close and personal. Elephants are a given, and there is no better place to go see them. They are amongst the largest on the continent and the bulls grow amazing tusks. The buffaloes are also very impressive compared to other parks, and even the lions seems larger here. During a stay at the lodge you'll get excellent guides, and most of the time you'll get 4 of the big 5 over a couple of days, although rhinos are a bit shy here. Leopards are very rare, but if anyone can find them, it is the lodge.

Scenery is dense but beautiful throughout most of the park, and the sand forest makes this park unique in terms of scenery, feel and look. The huge swamp spanning the east side of the park is the park's most open area, and the best place to find herds of elephants and buffaloes. In the dry season, May-September, the sawmp is also a good spot to find lions hunting. The prey base is massive here, and the numbers of the beautiful nyala antelope are staggering, so the carnivores are not lacking in any way.

My favorite time of year here is October, which is very early in the rainy season. Climate is warm, but not extremely hot, as it can be in summer, November-March. The scenery is becoming greener, but the vegetation is still low after the dry season so the animals are still easy to see. The dry season will, of course, give you a bit more action as wildlife stick around the few water sources, but the scenery is not as nice.

I never stayed at the lodge overnight myself, as I stayed at the research camp, but the people working there are very serviceminded and the lodge is very accomodating.

If you go here, be sure to spend a day at the nearby Ndumo Game Reserve for some fantastic scenery and birding! And a massive population of crocodiles!

It’s been a while since we came back from Africa but the memories still linger on as though it was yesterday. Both Henry and I would like to thank you for arranging the safari side of our trip. It was just amazing and we both had a wonderful time. The memories that you have helped us create, will remain with us for a very long time. We really appreciated all your input, help, guidance and most of all your patience during the trip planning.

The safari was just unbelievable. The Serena's in Maasai mara, Amboseli, Mt. Kenya, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro were great- really good choices, thanks. We had thevery best of drivers, Joseph, a very knowledgeable and an excellent spotter. He knew exactly where the animals were, especially the Big Five. He drove us to areas where we were very lucky to witness a kill. It was just amazing to watch a pack of lions go after a zebra. No words can describe the feeling. On the one hand you feel sorry for the zebra while on the other hand, when you watch the lion cubs enjoying their meal, you feel happy.

Thank you once again for arranging a wonderful safari experience for us. This was something totally different for us because we had never been to Africa before. We will not hesitate to recommend your services to all our friends, relatives and whenever we have an opportunity.
Asante sana.

Review about Tarangire National Park by gordopuggy

Tarangire was the best park we visited. The landscape was densely varied, offering a great variety of habitats in a relatively small setting, with every kind of animal we could dream of (except cheetahs, but it was late May, when they are harder to find.) Highly recommended.

A must to enjoy the wildlife experience in Kruger. The Panorama trip and drive through Garden Route simply breathtaking. Our stay in Umbhabha (one of their new lodge) and the food were good. Definitely will recommend Safari Bookings for those planning to go to South Africa.

Unforgettable expirience and great oganization of the whole trip!

Im very happy, that i booked the gorilla tracking for me and my family via Gatatu Safaris. Richard proofed, that he is pefect at organizing such a trip in the last minute, even if it seems like it is not possible.
The night before we spent at his lodge "Wild Olives Lodge" and i was very surprised because it was one of the cleanest lodges i've seen by now in uganda and the food was also very good.
All in all we made a great expirience with Gatatu Safaris.

Thank you!
