Another awesome safari!
5/5

We have just returned from our 3rd safari to Pilanesberg with Ryan and Pilanesberg safaris. Once again, the organisation was great and good meals provided. Ryan was efficient, friendly, helpful and is very knowledgeable about the wildlife in the park. We were very lucky with our sightings, seeing all the big 5 this time :) We had a wonderful time and amazing experiences. Can recommend Ryan and Pilanesberg safaris most highly.

Review about Tarangire National Park by rick harner photo
Overall rating
5/5

Tarangire is known for it's numerous elephant populations and bird species diversity. The area also has a wide variety of mammal species most abundant include baboon, impala, waterbuck, giraffe, and warthog. Over 150 species of birds can be observed in a single day by even the novice birder. Lion, leopard and cheetah are present but may not be observed daily. A stay of 3 days is minimal. I rate this park excellent for wildlife photography.

The abundance of wildlife amazing. Numerous antelope species are easily observed. Four of the Big Five can be observed including Lion, Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo. It should be a must destination when within Tanzania and most species can be seen easily in 2 days. I rate this park Excellent for wildlife photography.

Review about Lake Manyara National Park by rick harner photo
Overall rating
2/5

The lake level is continually being depleted for agricultural interests and as such the ability to see hippo, flamingos and other water reliant species are being diminished. This park can be bypassed if on a tight schedule and/or budget. I rate this park Fair for wildlife photography.

Monkeying about in Arusha National Park
Overall rating
3/5

Arusha National Park is a small park close to the town of Arusha and Kilimanjaro Airport. While it boasts a rich variety of wildlife, you shouldn't expect the same game-viewing experience you will find in other national parks of Tanzania's northern circuit. It does have numerous black-and-white colobus monkey which are easily visible and are not found in the other parks. Common animals include giraffe, buffalo, zebra, bushbuck and warthog. In the northeast, the shallow alkaline Momella Lakes provide habitat for numerous species of water birds including Lesser and Greater Flamingo. Forest birds require work to see but experienced birders may be rewarded for their efforts. This park can be by-passed if on a tight schedule and or budget. I rate thes park Poor for wildlife photography.

I never saw so many elephants and hippos outside the water like there - even at 12.00 a.m.
But I saw many other animals too - much more than on my safari trips in South Africa and Namibia.

I was impressed by stunning nature far away from the civilisation.

My accommondation was a tent, that was build on a high platform. On that platform was a toilet and a shower with no roof. The valuables were stored in a box that was locked.
The excursions were very exciting, because we used a traditonal boat made of wood to reach our destination. I never walked by foot in an area, where animals like elephants, lions and leopards are living.
In the night, elephants and hippos walked through our camp. Summarized the three days were very exciting.
