About: Namibia
A huge and wonderful experience … !

We loved Namibia. We did an 11-day self-drive tour booked through Dunas Safari who did us proud. Namibia is a huge country and long distances between stops but Dunas paced it beautifully. We loved the dramatic countryside and the beautiful people and the sunsets . And the wildlife was amazing; we saw everything except for the Leopard … ! Highlights were Sossusvlei and Etosha and the two nights we spent at Spitzkoppen Lodge were magic. We were in Namibia for only 11 days and we realised that we only just scratched the surface. We would love to come back and do more. Thank you, Dunas and thank you, Namibia … !

the true beauty of Africa and her animals at land and in the water

Chobe National Park is one of the most amazing places to experience Africa in her full beauty. The biggest concentration of Elephants anywhere in the world, and all others in abundance on land, in the water and in between.

An excellent experience!

Chris from Indigo Safaris was very prompt in returning emails and calls from us prior to booking on the trip despite him being all over the globe at the time! We were very happy with our decision to book 3 trips through him for Papua New Guinea. The Goroka Show was well organized with smooth transfers. The accommodation couldn't have been better as we were next to the venue and he was always happy to organize transportation into town or to eat out for those who weren't eating at the accommodation. He also set us up with a week diving in at the Walindi resort in New Britain which is an absolutely amazing facility we would highly recommend. Finally, our trip to the Sepik river, was certainly memorable. Although remote, we were well taken care of with freshly cooked meals and bedding and mosquito nets each night despite being in the middle of no where! We met some amazing people and were amazed at the artwork and spirit houses we were able to see along the way. I would happily go on another trip with Indigo Safaris as it was a great experience!

About: Tanzania
Fantastic safari experience.
Overall rating
4/5

Tanzania was great! We had organized a safari with Safari Soles before we arrived. Our 10 day safari tour was mind blowing, We did not expect the variety of animals and the accommodations and food were fantastic. Each park had its highlights. We enjoyed the northern park areas more as the southern parks were much busier with tourist traffic. We had fantastic weather and enjoyed being guided by a Massi to some waterfalls and to Natron lake.

Next we flew to Zanzibar for 10 days. The Nungwi beach was beautiful. In Stone Town we enjoyed watching the beach activities, walking through town, the tasty food and the markets. Overall Tanzanians are very welcoming. We never felt unsafe; however the majority of vendors were uncomfortably pushy. Be sure to negotiate prices of tours and items.

The scenery was beautiful and varied throughout Tanzania. We enjoyed a day trip to the foothills of Kilimanjaro where we learned how coffee was grown and the locals had us participate in making a good cup. They also cooked us a delicious lunch.

We really enjoyed our holiday!

We stayed at Flat Dogs Camp just across the river from the Park for 5 nights. That is a lovely facility with great food. The elephants wander freely by the hatched-roof "tents". sometimes snacking on them. It was the dry season so most of the wildlife was crowded near the river which meant lots of wildlife sightings, but also quite a few other vehicles. Our drives away from the river had far fewer vehicles and found wild dogs, and other good wildlife. One nice feature is the park allows night drives (until 8pm) which were not allowed in Botswana parks. We greatly enjoyed seeing the nocturnal animals. The weather was warm but not too hot, there were almost no bugs. Everyone in our group of 7 had a great time there and highly recommend it.

An overwhelming Christmas- adventure
5/5

We had the best time of our life with Wild Planet Safari christmas 2014
We went on a 11 days tour from J.burg-Hazywiew- Merloth-Swaziland-St. Lucia- Durban- J.burg. And would do it all again tomorrow without any hesitation.
The knowlegde of both Ryan and Thale made our trip complete, and with the patience for our four children (5,8,9,10) it was absolutely phenomenal.
Travelling with Wild Planet Safari is highly recomendable, and you will get the best service, food and experiences of 'em all!:)

Our first Safari and it did not disappoint. We had booked a 3 day Safariwith Ku Sungula and had seen all of the big five within 48 hours.

Accommodation was clean and comfortable, especially loved the outdoor areas for each room. Staff extremely helpful and friendly.

A fabulous trip!

About: Uganda
It’s a really beautiful country with several animals, vegetation and cultures - very nice to visit!

We were in Uganda for an internship and wanted to book a Safari last minute - therefore this website was great! We found the perfect match and the company managed to Organise the Start of our trip within to days!
The Country itself was really beautiful and we were surprised about the variety of the different National parks within Savannah and Rainforest. We felt safe the whole journey with our Safari-Guide and the park-Rangers. The weather was still good in the beginning of august, but it started to rain in the end of august(->Tip: visit country before rain-season). All in all it was a really lovely trip and we enjoyed it!
(One last tip: look for a proper car- the roads are really bumpy nearly everywhere and the “african-massage”, like our guide called it, isn’t that enjoyable after some hours of driving)

We were a group of 5 colleagues who had some spare time at the end of our trip and decided we wanted to do a safari in the Masai Mara. I found Hyrax safaris and they were extremely responsive over what’s app which was really handy due to the time difference. Hyrax were good at sorting out our different room configurations and found us great quality accomodation at Sarova Mara. I would recommend the hotel, we had a room looking out over the reserve. We opted to be driven to the Mara (about 6 hours), I’m glad we did because we saw so much on the journey and there were plenty of stops to stretch your legs. Our guide Aaron was excellent, really knowledgeable and was also flexible about what times we did our drives. I enjoyed doing a full days drive as we saw so much but some of my colleagues found a whole day game drive a bit too much. I’m sure you’d be able to split it into two of you wanted. I would recommend using Hyrax safaris for your safari booking.

An unforgettable experience
5/5

Hi all!

We are a couple from Barcelona and we travelled to the southern parks of Tanzania last month. We chose Asante Afrika Tours after searching plenty of forums and travel blogs where we found excellent reviews and recommendations of this agency. And I must say we were not disappointed.
From the first moment, Pepa assisted us answering our numerous questions and helping us to choose the best itinerary. In the end we went for the 4-days safari in Selous and Mikumi, adding one extra day to see Udzungwa Mountains.
It was our first time in Tanzania and when we landed in Dar Es Salaam we were pleased to see Pepa and Abi, our driver, were there waiting for us. They arranged a hotel not far from the airport and the next morning we started our big adventure.
I won't tell you about everything in detail, but I can say the treatment we received was excellent, from the fruits and the food we were not familiar with and that Abi was so kind to buy for us, to the patient search of animals usually difficult to spot. We are happy to say we were able to see elephants, giraffes, impalas, hippos, hyenas, lions, leopards, warthogs, wildebeest and many more.
Pepa is a Spanish lady with a huge smile on her face, who always knows what to say to make you feel at ease. Abi has more than 30 years of experience as ranger and safari expert, he knows everything about the animals and their habits, and most importantly about how and where to look for them. He is also well aware of the safety factor (remember that most of the time you'll be surrounded by wild animals in their natural habitat, so you want to make sure you're guided by the right people) and he knows plenty of people, which made it much easier for us to move around and find accomodation even after the end of the safari.

To sum up, Abi and Pepa make a great team and thanks to them we learned really a lot about Tanzania, its people and wildlife. We feel very lucky to have had the chance to share the safari experience with them and should we go for another one we'd definitely choose Asante Afrika Tours again!
