Amazing Experience in Tanzania!
5/5

My husband and I booked our honeymoon with Eastern Sun to hike Kilimanjaro, go on safari and to visit Zanzibar, and we had a fantastic experience. From the time that we arrived at Kilimanjaro, everything went very smoothly. Our driver picked us up right on time and even had flowers to greet us with. We then spent a night at a relaxing little hotel before heading out to start our hike. The hike was great- our porters were amazing and all of the food that Stephen cooked for us was delicious. We could not have asked for a better guide, Arnold, or assistant guide, Tuma. They were so knowledgeable and helpful, and just really enjoyable to be around. We've even kept in touch with them over whats app and facebook since we left Tanzania.

We also had great experience on Safari with our guide Richard. He was also very knowledgeable about the animals, which we saw tons of- baby cheetas, hippos, elephants, and rhinos, lion cubs and the all of the big 5. We really enjoyed the accommodations on the safari as well, they had really friendly and helpful staff and we met some other great travelers as well. I especially loved the Maramboi camp where we were able to go for a run and had a close encounter with some Giraffes.

After Safari we were off to Zanzibar, which was absolutely beautiful. We got to spend a bit of time in Stonetown and explore on our own which we really enjoyed. After that we headed out to the resort where we got to kayak, run, and go Scuba diving. We also went on a spice tour and got some really great lunch in Stonetown on the way back to the airport as well.

The only issue that we had the entire time that we were there was with the weight of luggage when we flew to and from Zanzibar, as we had quite a bit of since we had done the hike and safari. We contacted Mercy and she was very quick to respond and help us through this issue, which we appreciated. My only suggestion would be for those doing the hike to somehow have the baggage held while traveling to Zanzibar to avoid this issue.

Overall, we had an amazing experience with Eastern Sun. We absolutely cannot wait to go back and visit Tanzania again in the future!!

We had a one-day Safari tour in Tanzania at Selous Game Reserve and it is one of the most beautiful experience ever. Our guide was very professional and gave us a lot of information about all type of animals living the reserve. It lasted more than 8 hours and this gave us the opportunity to sight a wide variety of animals and landscapes.

We visited three parks: Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater with Goshini Safaris and had zero regrets about choosing Tanzania as the destination for our first safari.

We saw the big five, the great migration, elephants, giraffes, zebras and so much more. What amazed us the most was the stunning landscapes and how natural it was to come across events like a leopard with a fresh kill in a tree or a pride of lions eating a water buffalo.

We never felt crowded and simply loved every day!

It is a beautiful country, with a lot of variety when it comes to things to do and see, everyrhing from safari, whale watching, wine tasting, hiking, beaches beautiful landscapes etc. The country has an important history too, for the world to know and learn from. All people were very nice. We loved it all!

This park is definitely my favourite out of Arusha and Manyara. The landscapes are beautifully spotted with Baobobs and the herds of elephants are truly breathtaking.

Excellent destination for spotting wildlife. It has one of the highest concentrations of lions around and I certainly saw quite a few. It tends to feel a bit like a zoo in my opinion, as it is all enclosed within the 'crater', and the land cruisers feel like they're on a set track weaving through it like a Jurassic Park ride in Hollywood studios. It's not my favourite, but if you have a long focal length Canon L lens, this is your place to shine. Prop it on a beanie and start shooting keepers.

Great bang for your buck park and easy to access from Dar es Salaam. The highway passing through the park is strange, but for a budget price you are potentially able to see some predators and herds passing over from Selous.

Review about Lake Manyara National Park by Justin
Overall rating
3/5

I'm not really a fan of Manyara, as the tourist circuit in the North tends to get very clumped up around these parks in my opinion. The game sighting is nothing to write home about, other than maybe flamingos. There are much better parks in Tanzania.
