Kenya and Tanzania safari
4/5

We booked an 11-day continuous safari trip in Kenya (Masai Mara, Nakuru, Naivasha) and Tanzania (Tarangire, Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro) from Ancient Wild Safari. Our guides (Patrick in Kenya and Estomi in Tanzania) followed the plan exactly as it was was agreed before, they were very friendly, had a good knowledge about wildlife, and did their best to show us as much as possible. We saw probably all big mammals that are living in these areas and many different species of birds, some small mammals and some reptiles. A visit in a Masai village was also very interesting. Accommodation and catering was in camps and hotels, relatively modest but reasonable given the price. If you go there, you have to be prepared that some roads can be very dusty, not everything is really clean and you will be camping in field conditions, but it is what the camping safari is about. The guides do care about our safety. Actually we felt much safer among lions and hyenas than in downtown Nairobi. I would recommend to take your own sleeping bag with you even if you receive an information that you do not need it, to prevent a disappointment from being given a small or not totally clean local sleeping bag. If you camp at Ngorongoro, be prepared that nights can be very cold because of the high altitude. In August mosquitoes are very few, but there are some. At the accommodations sites beds had mosquito nets or tents could be closed with no gap left for mosquitoes to enter. There were hardly any mosquitoes during the daytime. We were taking antimalarics to be on the safe side, but looking back, I think it was probably not necessary. Vaccination against yellow fever is necessary and officers at the Kenya-Tanzania border require this to be confirmed in you Vaccination Certificate. In general, this trip was a great experience: I would recommend it to everybody who is interested in nature and likes camping. And I can also recommend Ancient Wild Safaris - they are reliable and do a good job.

I had a wonderful Experience with Allan. We exchanged emails regularly and he made sure that all my requests and questions were taken care of. It was a hassle-free trip and he also got me a good tour guide who made sure we get to see all the animals and he was very knowlegeable of the area. It was an amazing African experience and i higly recommend Allan to anyone who wants a budget friendly yet still amazing Africa safari.

Very good experience!
4/5

My husband and I were on a three days safari in three different park, each one was different for plants but in all of these there was a lot of beautiful animals. Our guide was kind and respectful of animals, our chef cooked very very good dinner and breakfast for us (box lunch during safari not so good as the dinner). The lodge was basic but comfortable and the same for the jeep. We saw Big Five the second day in Ngorongoro Crater, but all three days were very exciting for us. Absolutely recommended!

Good recommendations for Beach holiday
4/5

We gave our budget to Intek Travel and they found us some options to choose from on our beach holiday in Kenya. We enjoyed our stay and loved the beach, service and activity options availed to us. They make sure we spend our money in the best ways possible. Thanks!

I was part of a larger group that booked Migration Venture Africa for our safari adventures.
4/5

The people who are part of Migration Venture Africa were all great, as I found all Tanzanians to be. The company was very attentive to any issues or concerns, however my only request would be that they invest in newer safari vehicles. The vehicle I was in ended-up breaking down along side the road, after a day and half fidgeting with the radiator.

Serengeti Safari (2 night; 3 days)
4/5

Uhuru provided our group of 4 a great experience through Asilia Camps (we stayed at Sayari Camp in the northern Serengeti) and made plane travel between Zanzibar and the Serengeti seamless. Everything was on time and we had a remarkable experience seeing almost all of the animals one can see in the Serengeti.

The one major drawback about our experience was the unexpected fees. Although we had paid in full up front upon booking in May ($1,250 USD/person), Uhuru contacted us two weeks prior to our safari and demanded that we pay $1,200 USD more ($300 USD/person) as "costs had risen and the government had instituted new taxes." We were alarmed at this situation and did extensive research on new government taxes, but found that no new taxes had been levied in approximately a year. We were discouraged by the price increase but paid anyway, believing there would be no other opportunity for such a late booking. After the conclusion of our safari (back in Stone Town), we were required to pay our Uhuru-scheduled taxi shuttle driver an extra $50 USD even though Uhuru had promised that there would be no additional fees. We had a wonderful time overall, but these unexpected fees were frustrating and added a great deal of stress unnecessarily.

Travelling through Africa
4/5

I met Barack whilst touring through the amazing countries of Africa. I don't know what we would have done without him particularly at the border crossings. He made it look so effortless and handled it all with ease. He was so friendly and polite and always had a smile on his face. It was obvious he loves his job and seeing tourists discover his beautiful homeland. He took us to markets and restaurants and always looked after us. Thank you Barack, I hope to see you again soon!
