This was a great safari experience from beginning to end!
I was very happy with our experience with It Started in Africa from beginning to end. The office contact person was prompt and helpful in answering questions and expediting booking the tour. We chose to be met at the airport and the young men who met us were personable and helpful. The office manager came to our hotel to meet with us and go over the details of the safari. We chose the 4 days/3 nights safari to Lake Manyara/Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater and found it a great experience. We chose the camping safari and found it suited our budget and yet was comfortable. It was fun meeting some of the other people doing the same type of safari. Our driver/guide Martin was excellent and very knowledgeable both about the animals and how to get the best views of them. He also timed where we went for our game viewing to be able to see as many animals as we could. We were fortunate to be there for the start of the wildebeest migration and even saw a cheetah attacking one for dinner! Martin was good company, always looked out for us and graciously accommodated a few spontaneous requests on the last day returning to Arusha. Our cook Samwell made us delicious food and there was always plenty of it. We were happy to have box lunches as it allowed more time for game viewing. He was flexible and made us a box breakfast at our request on the morning we went to Ngrongoro Crater so we ate it in the beautiful surroundings of the crater. We saw a wide variety of animals including elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, wildebeests and a black rhino. Altogether we had a great time and appreciate the work that this safari company put into making it so enjoyable!

A fairy tale!
We had an incredible time on our visit. Stanley was incredibly helpful and flexible when working with us to ensure we had the best Safari trip planned. We stayed at the Simbavati River Lodge and were blown away by the hospitality, organization, and all the wildlife that the lodge and the entire area provided. We would highly recommend working with this group again!

Botswana is a beautifull place, we loved every minute.
Our trip was well organized. The locations were perfect. People very friendly and helpfull.
Amazing wilflife, private safaris. Not over touristic, but calm settings.

I think South Africa is a very beautiful country, I really love the animals in the park.
I give this trip a big 5 stars' really love the country, the people there are very friendly. I also really love the views and especially the animals. I had a great experience and I was very near the animals. The weather was really good because its not too hot or too cold.

The corrupt leadership of the country and the disparity between classes is heartbreaking.
The most beautiful part of the trip was taking the panoramic scenic route from Johannesburg to Kruger national Park. Kruger was awesome and we saw all of the big 5. Cape Town is a fantastic city and is a cross between Sydney, Australia, and San Francisco, California. We especially enjoyed the V & A waterfront. We would highly recommend the hop on hop off bus to get a feel for where you want to return to.

Extremely rich wildlife, unbelievable diversity and number of exotic animals, kind, generous people
It was great, never forgettable experience!
First, the company “Kalahari Tours” and its personnel in the office. Open, friendly, obliging. We entered the office, not particularly knowing what we actually want and how they can be useful for us. We wanted to see as much of Africa as possible! The lady-manager and the lady – partner listened to us and worked out ideal, as it turned out, plan for us for three days – from that moment to the departure in the airport. We had wonderful lunch there. And it all was much cheaper than we had anticipated before! And considerably cheaper than in other companies! Early in the morning the next day a car took us from our hotel and we met Mr. T. , as he introduced himself (his name is Tshenolo).He showed us round the national park. First, he loves his country and is proud of it. Otherwise, he would fail to make us love Botswana. We learned a lot from him about its history, politics, traditions. Secondly, he knows no end of interesting things about animals and birds. He tried his best to show us as many animals as he could. The number of lions, elephants, zebras, buffalos, hippos, giraffes that we saw much exceeded our expectations! The Chobe park is extremely rich in animal world, amazingly! Tshenolo took us to far-away corners of the park to show us a herd of zebras because we asked him! Great guy Mr. T, he made the safari the brightest impressions of our lives. Generally, the safari was arranged ideally. We could spend any time in the park that we could afford – from three hours to ten days, the formation of groups is very flexible. The boat trip on the Kwando river was fantastic, we saw herds of elephans, we failed to conut how many of them! We failed to count how many hippos we saw! But later, in savanna, we counted the lions in the pride – 18! Two nights in savanna sleeping in tents was for us great experience. The food was very tasty. The sanitary conditions were very good. The main thing, it all was absolutely safe! After three days, Mr. T took us to the office in Kasane. They served us very tasty lunch and took us to the air-port. “Kalahari Tours” is a very customer oriented, friendly company, their prices are surprisingly low, their people are professional, hard-working, obliging. We had an absolute blast!
We had sn amazing experience. The staff and people everywhere are friendly and helpful. I am originally from SA but, this was my wife’s first trip. I will highly recommend to anyone to visit and experience SA’s rich culture and diversity.

South Africa offers a blend of extraordinary wildlife, scenic beauty, and sophisticated urban life.
We had never visited South Africa. and so, with just one week available in our itinerary, we crammed in visits to Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, and Cape Town. While we enjoyed Cape Town's ambiance, highlight for us was Kruger, a beautiful and exceptionally well maintained park that compares favorably to U.S. national parks we have visited. Thanks to our expert private guide from Wild Planet Safari, we were able to see an extraordinary variety of wildlife in just two full days. One week was clearly not enough to appreciate all that South Africa has to offer, but we felt our program was ideal for visitors whose time is similarly limited.
