Genuinely satisfying no frills safari
5/5

We had 4 days in Selous in September and had a fantastic time with Kanuth's team. The communication between Kanuth and us was seamless in organising the trip, and from being picked up to dropped off at the end, everything ran smoothly.

Our driver/guide and chef were fun, knowledgable, professional, and very hard working and spent a lot of time and effort with us to make sure we saw the most we possibly could in the time we had and that we enjoyed ourselves.

We would absolutely use Kanuth's company again for future safaris.

The 4 days in Selous are varied with boat safari/game drives/walking safari which gives you a flavour of local tribes and traditions. It allows for 2 full days of game drives, which is important because if you only give yourself one day and don't see much there's no wiggle room to go back and try again. We saw quite a lot more on the second game drive day so it was well worth it, and they were truly full days.

Food is generous and the setting in which you enjoy the downtime is well considered. We stayed in basic camping accommodation and for those who are looking for more budget options, this is a value-for-money choice.

Trip of a Lifetime
5/5

From the very first contact through to the final goodbye the staff at Mamaland Safaris went out of their way to ensure that our trip to Queen Elizabeth Park was the best it could possibly be. Our guide Michael, was extremely efficient, fun and very, very knowledgeable. The accommodation and food at Pumba Cottages was excellent. On the Safari we saw everything we hoped for and the local guides were brilliant. I cannot recommend Mamaland Safaris highly enough!

Paul Tamwenya arranged a fantastic trip for us with fantastic birds and gorillas as promised.
5/5

My trip with Paul was actually organised through an earlier company that he operated but he did all the work, planning and delivery of the end product. This review is as much about the man, Paul Tamwenya rather than the company. He delivered what was promised, was a reliable operator and the financial side was all seamless and uncomplicated.
His vehicle was clean, reliable and comfortable. His abilities as a bird guide were excellent and more than satisfied our demands. We were an eclectic group consisting of myself (56yo), wife and mother-in-law (80yo). Paul managed the dynamics very well and we had very few problems indeed. We saw everything we wanted to and our interests were quite varied rather than being solely birds.
Our 15 days safari was very much off the template and the outcome was more than satisfactory. I have no hesitation in recommending Paul's services to anyone looking for a reliable, honest and capable bird guide for Uganda in particular but I am sure he is more than capable of operating in other parts of East and Central Africa.
I am planning a return to Uganda in the near future and it is my intention to try and use Paul again.

An adventure for two families
5/5

We were 4 adults and 4 children, from 9 to 14, booked from home for a 17 day tour. It was a fantastic adventure with high-skilled guide and very nice people to provide us a definitely enjoyable experience.
I would highly recommend all of them as a very best value for money.
Many thanks to Oscar and all his staff, always cool and in control when things turned out to be very exciting with elephants, buffalos, lions, leopard, cheetah and (of course ) wild dogs. We'll be back :-)
Best tip of the travel: when Oscar says:"during the night, stay in the tent", you do it!

top experience
5/5

This was our first Africa experience and it was a full hit.
With our 3 teenage kids, we went with Afro Wilderness on a 9 day safari. We visited the national parks of Arusha, Tarengeri, Serengite, Ngorongoro. Shiraz has a very good knowledge of animals and knows where find him in this parks.
We slept most of all on campsites, everything was taken care off, tents, food, a good land cruiser and a very kind cook (Jamal)
If you are looking for a good guide and good organisation, we can highly recommend them.

Following the migration
5/5

Everything went very well during our time in Tanzania, since the organization of the whole trip runned smoothly, we enjoyed the tented camps, and we were quite lucky on our game drives.

Our guide Deogratius was not only a great guide, but also at all times a very nice company!

the best safari ever done
5/5

The safari company was amazing and specially Paul who drive us in such nice spots to see incredible animals, like the lions on the trees, lions attacking zebras, leopards, cheetah in the wild, so beautiful and fantastic days in Uganda and the most interesting was our trip walk to see the gorillas in Bwindi Forest... an amazing experience that we will never forget... after a walk in the primary forest mountains, it was so impressive to see the gorillas family in their environnement and it was a great moment in connexion with them...

GREAT SERVICE, GREAT STAFF, GREAT SATISFACTION
5/5

It's so surprising when I think back that, it was only 10 days ago I was in Kenya. This was my first trip to Kenya and my first safari. Only five stars surfice for Twiga Tours as they have to date surpassed all of the tour operators that I have dealt with in the past. Yes, we too were met at the Nairobi Airport by the guides from Twiga Tours with hot towels, safari hats, and goodie bags and the hot champagne (sorry George) we had so far to walk to the carpark (the airport was under renovtion and the boys (guides) couldn't park close) anyone or thing would have been hot. Off we went to the Sarova Stanley Hotel (no not named after one of our guides) and once we had dropped our luggage and had a old drink we left for one of the attrations I was so looking forward to - the Daphne Sheldricks orphanage for motherless young elephants whose mothers have been murdered by greedy and ruthless ivory collectors. This was so rewarding and worth the visit. Then on to Karen Blixen Museum (of Out of Africa fame) and then back to the hotel. Every day of this 14 day safari was FANTASTIC, every day was a favourite. We travelled to Elephant Bedroom Camp and saw close up and personal animals only seen on TV or in books. This is situated in the Samburu Game Reserve. Two days later we were off the Sweetwaters Tented Camp situated in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. There I saw on the same day at the 'waterhole' more than10 elephants of all ages at one time and then later that morning a dozen or more (a tower) giraffe - apparently no one had witnessed that before. And some were sorry I hadn't gone on safari that morning (not for long). Two sleeps and we were off again, this time to Sarova Lion Hill Lodge and we saw 1000's of flamingos at Lake Nakuru, one sleep and we were off to Tipilikwani Luxury Tented Camp near the Masai Mara Game Reserve. Three sleeps later and unfortunately it was over. Doesn't sound much, you know the saying "You had to be there" so true for all of this. I have purposely left out the fantastic aminals and birds as I just didn't want to spoil your enjoyment. I have mentioned birds and I don't want you to do what I did - don't ignore getting information before you leave Aust. I did and I regret not having a bird book or the like. All of this safari is because of Twiga Tours they own all but one of the accommodation and these form an integral part of the whole adventure. Thank you Ali - our guide, and I am sure I speak on behalf of all the other travellers - thank you to: Stanley, Reubon and George for a job truely well done:-) Jambo Jambo - Karibu
