Six Star Safari
5/5

Four of us arrived in Windhoek feeling a little apprehensive about spending the next four weeks in a vehicle with an unknown person having only spoken on the phone with Pieter. It did not take long for those feelings to disappear.
Pieter had organised our tour around Namibia, arranging stunning accommodation of all sorts from basic overnight camping to resort luxury and everything in between.
Namibia is a large and diverse country so there were some long days on the road. However, as a guide Pieter is quite extraordinary - his knowledge of flora and fauna, geography, politics and economics is awesome. He seems to know everyone in Namibia at all levels. We were never bored.
Pieter would always go the extra mile to show you something of interest or to find the best places for spotting animals.
Our time in Namibia is at the top of our best experiences.
We were privileged to have toured with Pieter and still send and receive emails from him and Tessa.
We cannot speak too highly of Blue Sky, Pieter and Tessa.

The most mind-blowing park we visited--simply amazing!
Overall rating
5/5

We spent 10 days at South Luangwa National Park: we could easily spend 50.

The wildlife was incredibly diverse and abundant. We saw over 100 species of birds, including eagle owls; lions every day, including a lion killing a buffalo; 100s of crocodiles; various species of antelopes; zebras, giraffes etc. Moreover, the quality of the guides is superb. Guides must undertake rigorous and lengthy training and testing before taking clients.

This was the last park we visited on our 45 day Southern Africa trip, which included Etosha National Park, Waterberg Plateau National Park, Mana Pools National Park, Lower Zambezi National Park, and Moremi Preserve. Of all the parks we visited, this is the one we would most like to revisit.

About: Zamsato
A varied and interessting journey with many encounters with animals and people
5/5

In search of a different adventure in Africa , we came across the "Expedition Shoebill ". The description caught our interest and because we knew the organizer and guide Daniel Schreiner already from previous trips here, we took the opportunity to visit some of the not so well-known national parks and attractions in Zambia and Tanzania with him.

The route proved to be a very interesting and varied. We experienced small and large towns, vast plains, endless Miomboforests and high mountains, did nice walks, saw geological features and visited colorful markets. On extensive game drives we saw countless animals.

All the visited the lodges were comfortable, clean and quiet. The camps were mostly at very nice location, clean and with one exception also very quiet. The equipment of the camps varied from comfortable to very simple, and the nights we spent in the middle of Ruaha National Park completely alone in a very simple camp, are among our best memories.

Our tent was well maintained, clean and big enough , and - more important - very easy to set up and to take down. We did not feel anything through the thick comfortable foam mattresses which gave us a good night sleep.

The food was tasty and varied. We got to know unfamiliar vegetables and cooking styles and marveled again and again about Daniel how he managed to cook our dinner on a tiny charcoal stove in 3 pots.
The kitchen was like the rest of the equipment very well thought through and it really lacked nothing .

The vehicle was comfortable and reliable. We experienced our first trip to Africa without any car breakdown, which is certainly also due to Daniel's prudent driving. We were missing some shelves or bags to store things such as cameras, binoculars, guide books, glasses, etc. , especially during the game drives to store them handy but safe.

The trip was very well thought out and organized. Despite some very bad roads and long travel times we reached all stages within the targeted time period. The experience of the always very time consuming border crossing in Africa went smoothly thanks to Daniel's organization.

Our guide brought us closer to country and people with his tales and stories. He never got tired to look for interessting animals on our long game drives and fascinated us with his good eyes and his broad knowledge of the fauna, especially the birds and their calls.
Daniel patiently answered all questions and made, if nessecary, adjustments to the daily routine.

Overall, it was an exhausting but beautiful and interesting journey with a good price - performance ratio.
Thank you, Daniel ! We hope that we will do another safari together soon.

5/5

We traveled in a comfortable, climatisatet bus as a private family-group. Half an year bevore, the guide gave suggestions for the journey (from Windhoek to Viktoriafalls). We discussed his suggestions and after a while we had a really varied programm for the journey. We lived in some small hotels and very compfortable lodges. The top was a boatride and overnight stay in a tentcamp by kawangoriver, where we nearly were in touch with the elephants. A magnificent adventure by a fair price, merci Pieter !

A great Africa experience!
5/5

Everything was arranged according to the schedule. The personal attention towards us was perfect. Our driver/guide was Richard Tumusiime. He was able to maneuver his Jeep trough the 'massage' roads and the wildlife in order to get us the best spots. He knows exactly the behavior of each animal, he gave us a very professional explanation. He took good care of us...
Many thanks to Matoke Tours, especially to Richard, he did a great job!

Friendly trip and good organization
5/5

We found out Savannah Explorers on internet and we immediatly contacted Roberto for planning our safari in Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Manyara Lake. We bought an individual trip (we were 2 of us) and we spent 1 week around with our italian speaking guide Rama. We had a lot of fun, and we met many animals. The trip wasn't expensive and well organised. We chose some medium level accomodations and we spent 2 nights in a tented camp (kati kati) and it was an amazing experience:the dark of the night, the silence and the shining stars. All lodges and the tented camp were nice and clean. Food was good and diversified, we could choose among a lot of things. I think that to plan a safari booking directly through Savannah is a bargain and you will be sure to have a lot of fun and serious organization at the same time. I hope to be back to Tanzania soon!

African bush - the best place to be...
5/5

I have been to Botswana a couple of times for more or less days with other tour operators before who were absolutely fine but the trip with African Adventure Safaris in person of Anthony Washford “Ant” just outranges any of my former experiences. Why is that? It is a mixture of the places that Ant has chosen for his tour which are for the major part unspoiled. The Central Kalahari and the Nxai Pan are just mind-blowing with so much to see topped by camping wild in relative loneliness but also for the more known places like Savuti or Moremi Ant has chosen real great spots to camp. Ant himself is not just a great host who has an amazing knowledge and a passion for the bush and its animals that you cannot resist but I also would like to mention that it was amazing to see how he interacts with the locals with a good mixture of respect, humor and kindness – they just love him. Most of us don´t want to go on holidays without good food – Ant is a good cook, don´t worry about this! I had a blast sitting on the camp fire after dinner, listening to the sound of the bush or to one of Ant´s stories. I have been in Africa for like 12 times and I if should make a guess – I would recommend African Adventure Safaris and so Ant (I´ll go to Madagaskar with his company in next March)! It is the places you go but since you cannot force nature or weather it is also the company/the guide on your side who makes your trip memorable.

A wunderful experience: less luxury, more nature.
4/5

The tour guide is a very experienced man. Hes still accompained from his colleague since many years. The two men are very motivated to let the guest see and know everything which is possible: "reading" the nature and animals, explaining background, changements, developments. They have a lot of patiences, can specially for those who love wait, who have enough time, who like to search and to oserve the animals for more than just a few minutes. With Kangela Safaris there is no rushing around in the bush: there is Quality instead of quantity. Khangela Safaris is a Partner for People who like to come very close to nature and animals by all their senses, for people who like to walk. We loved the comfortable Camping in the bush right next to the waterwhole with the lovely selfmade meals on the fire, the beautiful evenings with storytelling... and linstening to the Sound of the animal.
