Mikumi 2 Day Safari
5/5

I went on the two day (overnight) safari to Mikumi back in April and had an amazing experience.

I was picked up in Dar early morning by a friendly driver/guide. As a solo traveller it was great to have a driver that was friendly, chatty, and keen to talk about all things Tanzania. I must admit, I did have a few Konyagi’s the night before so I did sleep for part of the journey out to the park.

We arrived at Mikumi after a four hour drive and checked into our lodgings in the park. I would definitely recommend staying in the Bandas within the park. The sounds of the animals you hear all around you at night is incredible. Such a good experience!

We set off on an afternoon game drive in the pop-top cruiser. Great vehicle with plenty of room (especially as I was the only person in it!). This park is full of wildlife and we saw it all – Elephants, Giraffe, Lions, Zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo, Hippos, Impala, Baboons, loads of birdlife, and lots of other critters. My guide was very knowledgeable, both about the park and the wildlife that calls it home, telling me everything I wanted to know about the animals.

Sunset in the park was amazing, as was sunrise the next morning. We were up early for another game drive and again saw plenty of animals. We spent all morning exploring more of the park before getting back to camp for lunch then making the drive back to Dar where I was dropped off at my accommodation.

Overall it was a great experience made special by a fantastic guide/driver. I found the two day/overnight Mikumi experience perfect for the short time I had in Tanzania. If you are after a Safari experience but have limited time then I would recommend Mikumi.

Brilliant!

A great experience
5/5

Our tour to Uhuru peak of Kilimanjaro was very well organized from the first to the last minute. Everyone of our group of 8 tourists made it to the summit. This was to large extent due our guides who were seriously concerned about this success, and proved to be most competent and considerate. It was important that they carefully set the pace in hiking and climbing. I very well remember other groups who did not adjust their speed to the altitude, and the disappointed, sick expression on the faces of those who had to give up because of - unnecessary - exhaustion and, perhaps, not enough adaptation. I also would like to mention the always friendly, pleasant atmosphere which we enjoyed with the whole team during the climb, and interesting conversations.

Incredible 12 day tour of Kenya and Tanzania
5/5

First class service. All lodges were some of the best in Africa like the Serina Safari lodgers with great good and sleeping quarters. We took 2000 pictures each of Animals and scenery. At the time The cost was $3,200 each which was very modest when a similar trip in tents offered by a famous society was over $10,000 a person! We had an experience of a life time and are now thinking about an all Tanzania your.

The ultimate, authentic safari you always dreamed of!
5/5

We just returned home from our week long Moriti Private Safari, I am pleased to say it exceeded our expectations in every way! The owner and guide Shaun Taylor, is a wonderful young man who has a deep knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the bush. His care and attention to every detail made this trip a dream come true! We saw so much, learned so much, and ate so much wonderful food that the week couldn't have been any better. Our private chef, Lindsey cooked up delicious dishes at every meal, and we enjoyed her company along with Shaun and the other support staff. The accommodations were five star all the way, and I would highly recommend this company for your dream safari!

About: Zambia
A stunning introduction to Africa
Overall rating
5/5

This was my first trip to southern Africa after years of journeying around South America, North America, Europe and Asia. I was looking for a unique experience that would encompass affordability, adventure, wildlife, scenic beauty and a uniquely African experience . Zambia seemed to fit the bill and fulfilled my expectations. I chose to go during the green season when crowds were lower. Although animals were not as easy to view in parks such as Kafue, the birding made up for it. My itinerary went from Victoria Falls, with a side trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana, to the Lower Zambezi River for 2 days of canoeing and finally to South Luangwa. I was impressed with the professionalism of the guides, especially on the Lower Zambezi River and in South Luangua National Park. I had many highlights on this trip, but I would choose the Microlight flight over Victoria Falls , the canoeing trip on the Zambezi River and my time in South Luangwa National Park. The canoeing offered me close proximity to hippos, elephants and the peaceful tranquility of camping on the Lower Zambezi River. South Luangwa gave me all the cat sightings I was hoping for. The birding was simply incredible, rivaling the animal sightings. As a modest traveler, the lodging was to my liking, mostly in tents. Marula Lodge, outside of South Luangwa National Park, was very welcoming. I loved camping next to the river and the outdoor showers. The restaurant had tasty food and guiding was exceptionally professional. The country is very scenic, especially along the rivers. Big sky unsets were very memorable. I guess that if I were to alter anything on the itinerary during the green season, it would have be increased time on the Zabesi River and at South Luangwa National park at the expense of Kafue National Park. Although I felt like Kafue National Park to myself, the grass was too high for wildlife viewing during green season. Overall the trip was terrific and made for a satisfying 1st experience in Africa. Finally, I would like to thank Denver of Denssafari for organizing a superb itinerary at an affordable price. I look forward to my return to the region in the next year or two.

Excellent Tour Operator
5/5

I'm a solo traveller. I began to correspond with Patrick 6 months prior to my actual visit to Livingstone. He was patient to explain to me various options. Finally when I arrived at Zambezi Sun, he sent his colleague to finalise my activities. At 10am I went to the Fall with Charity, the guide. She made sure that I’d be able to walk through the very wet bridge at the Fall. It was a great experience! In the afternoon I joined River Safari on a small boat. I enjoyed the natural environment along the river. As I wanted to go to Livingstone Museum without a guide, Patrick advised me how to get a taxi to/from the museum. So I did so on the following day after the helicopter flight with UAC. I found Patrick an excellent travel consultant. Thank you so much for helping me organise my activities!

Four Star Big Five Safari
5/5

I just wanted to say thank you for such a fantastic vacation on my five day safari. Everything that was promised on your website was exactly as stated. The hotel was excellent and the safari's suburb. All of the reps were really helpful and gave a good insight into what we were seeing. Although cold in the mornings (I would say to your customers to bring winter clothing) it was worth the early start. You responded to all my questions quickly and gave very good advice. Once again many thanks. I will be recommending your company to everyone I know that will embark on a safari.

Great safari
5/5

I did the 3 day safari one year ago with two friends and it was great. Everything was well organised and the price was good for the services. The big tend was nice and there is a warm shower too and the food was also nice there. Our driver was very kind and we had lots of fun. We have seen four of the big five and we had an amazing time on our safari. We have seen the sunset and the sunrise in masai mara- that was so wonderful. It was a great safari and I recommend everyone to go on that safari. :)

Myanmar lake, ngorngoro crater, Serengeti, Zanzibar
5/5

I will not be able to fully and accurately describe and appreciate this experience here but I'll try. I was not the person that organized or corresponded with the people from regional tours but I was most impressed with the accommodations arranged and services provided. Our guide Peter hands down made our safari what it was. He was extremely knowledgable about every area we visited. By knowledgeable I mean he not only knew the geography of each place but he was incredibly knowledgeable about where to find which animals to find in which areas as well as migration habits, mating, nesting, and anything else you could think of related to any kind of animal we saw. No question was too hard or too insignificant for Peter. He gave us lots of information on local customs based on where we were, he always knew a place to stop for shopping or a toilet, gave advice on how to negotiate while shopping and even helped us get checked in at the airport and work out a tricky situation with luggage weight. It took more than an hour and he stuck with us the entire time. Peter was nothing but patient, kind and more than accommodating in any and all situations. Accommodations were equally as impressive. We stayed in 3 different places that ranged from bush tents to a lodge tucked away on the side of a mountain in the middle of coffee plantations. A great experience with a wide range of amenities that offered a great experience over all. They even arranged out flight and accomodations at a becahfront hotel in Zanzibar. And had contacts for activities there as well. All in all it was above and beyond my expectations and I would with out a doubt recommend this company to anyone traveling to Tanzania. They seem to have a relationship with a vey wide range of establishments and can accommodate to make your stay as luxurious or as budget as you're comfortable with. Our 9 day trip was $200/day/person and included 2 flights, all transportation, 8 nights of accomodations, 3 meals a day (only 2 on Zanzibar) and a guide with endless wealth of information.
