I visited Bwabwata np in January this year (2014).
During previous traveling trough the Zambezi Region i had cross the park using the Transcaprivi in both day and nigth time. The daytime where not verry rewardings by during the night i saw duikers, springhares, buffalos, wilddogs on two occasions and even a caracal, all that along the main road!
When visiting this year i entered the park south east section from Kongola to Nambwa Campsite. There i saw elephant, kudus, impalas, lechwes, waterbucks, baboons, warthogs... and event 3 lions!
The campsite was lovely with a viewing platform towards the floodplains.
I stayed there for two nights. There was another party in the campsite on the first night, i was alone on the second.

I am a Kenyan, born and raised in Nairobi and hadn't yet visited Masai Mara until Last year December(2013). My family and I were hesitant because of the rains and Mara is known to be impassible during the rainy season but we decided to go ahead and not cancel our booking. Aren't we glad we went to the Mara. By road, its almost a 5hr drive on tarmac road until you reach Narok town where the tarmac just starts reducing until there is none as you get near the park. I have been to some Parks and Reserves in Kenya but Mara was the best. We saw a lot of lions(which isn't easy), leopards playing around and some of the prettiest tallest giraffes I have ever seen, among other wildlife. Now we know what the fuss is all about and cannot wait to back during the migration period. We booked directly through Sarova group and stayed at Sarova Mara and it was fantastic, best customer service ever. Our tour driver/guide was from Somak Safaris and he knew his wildlife.

P.s if you can, splurge more on hiring a land cruiser than a tour van when planning to tour Masai Mara. once you get to the rough roads, that's when you really appreciate the 4wd.

dream come true
5/5

It was my childhood dream to go to Masai Mara and see the wildlife, specially the big five. Absolute holiday safari made it possible. They have an excellent team and the customer service was too good. In this I specially want to make mention of David, our contact person in Nairobi and for the whole trip. Excellent man and a brother. He was like always available when needed. I would also like to make mention of Kennedy , our guide and Joseph , the manager of the camp in Masai Mara where we stayed. Both the person were very very friendly and went out of their way to make our trip a memorable one. Overall an awesome experience and I'm definetly coming back again. Thanks David, Kennedy, Joseph and absolute safari.

The whole holiday, from booking to travel, transfers, accommodation and guide was perfect. This was our first safari and it more than lived up to our expectations. Sadaani was idyllic and the safari guide and camp staff were knowledgable, generous and very welcoming.

The best place to see rhinos in Kenya
Overall rating
5/5

It took us about 15mins to get to Solio Ranch from our accomodation at Sandai Farm. The park entry fee is expensive - $80 per person for non-residents, Ksh2,000 for residents and Ksh1,000 for citizens - but well worth it! Rhinos are almost extinct, but there are more than enough of them in Solio. We decided to self-drive in our 4x4 without taking a guide (but we bought a map for Ksh1,000), which worked well. There are clear paths to follow and the map is quite detailed. We were able to drive up really close to herds of rhinos, buffaloes, zebras, oryx and gazelle. We also saw several families of warthogs trotting around and a jackal.

A well organised and efficient company with a focus on a quality experience for their customers
5/5

My wife and I have visited South Africa and several African countries each year for the past 3 years. Altezza have organised some complex trips for us, Flights, accommodation, meet and greets and transfers, every step of each trip has gone like clockwork. The team of Altezza are friendly and extremely easy to deal with any kind of services here, in Tanzania. They keep you informed all along the way whilst developing your personalised itinerary. I feel extremely confident when dealing with Altezza and recommend them MOST highly. Moreover, i should notice that it's a single company with russian and ukrainian native speakers that have fluent english.

Excellent camping-safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro national parks in Tanzania with Matoke Tours.
5/5

We are a family with 3 children, aged 4, 6 and 8, and booked our 4 day camping-safari to Serengeti and Ngorongo national parks + 3 extra days in Arusha with Matoke Tours. Matoke Tours was very quick in sending us a program and responding to our questions. Also prices were very reasonable! All communication was perfect.
On arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport we were picked up by our guide who brought us to our lodge in Arusha for 1 night.
After that we did a 4 days/3 nights basic camping safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Everything was organised perfectly!! We had a great very experienced guide who really did his utmost best to find every animal in the parks. The children were very excited and without the guide we would not have seen at least half off all the different animals we have seen now.
Our accommodation was in tents on the public camp sites. The cook and camping-assistant always arrived with a separate feeding-car before us on the camp sites, so when we arrived the tents were set and the food prepared! Tents, sleeping gear, tables and chairs, all were very good quality. We could actually not call this basic camping :-)
After the safari we stayed 3 nights in Arusha in the Ilboru Safari Lodge which is excellent for a family!
Matoke Tours all organised it perfectly and also followed up with us after the safari if we had any feedback on the trip.
We would definitively book with Matoke Tours again and can highly recommend it.

Five stars service
5/5

Dear Vimbai,

This email to thank you again for your assistance and diligence in making our stay in VicFalls a memorable holiday.

We really appreciated the 5* service provided for every activity.

We enjoyed the Boma dinner (a good start for feeling the African atmosphere) as well as the dinner at the Ilala Lodge.

The Chobe full day safari in Botswana was a tremendous and unforgettable trip. The morning river cruise and the game drive in the afternoon, including the lunch at the Raft (on the river!) offered us a touching scene of the wildlife just a few inches from the boat or the 4x4 !

We won't tell about the beauty and the magic of the Falls which were the reason of our coming to Zimbabwe. Everybody shall come there and visit once in his life !

Playing golf at the Elephant Hills remains a must for any golfer travelling around (impalas, kudus, monkeys and many other hosts joined us at each hole). We thank Honest and his colleague for their precious advices when caddeying for us.

At last but not least, the dinner with a special menu at the Victoria Falls Hotel was an excellent opportunity to feast and enter the New Year.

At the end, the schedule has been a little bit tough. Fortunately, we did the heli flight, not without some stress but with a lot of pleasure and emotion. We could not have left Zimbabwe without saying a last goodbye to the Falls....from the sky !

Thank you.
