About: Kenya
Fantastic experience with the incredible wildlife in both Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru National Parks
Overall rating
5/5

My daughter and I had the privilege to take a 'trip of a lifetime' at both Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru National Parks. Both parks had beautiful scenery and a abundance of wildlife. We saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, cheetahs, warthogs, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, etc. The weather was lovely and the accomodations were excellent. The food was delicious and the service by the Kenyans first class. Our guide, James, did an excellent job driving but more importantly was very knowledgeable about the animals. We definitely learned a lot from him. All and all it was a wonderful trip well worth the cost.

Moremi has a variety of landscapes, bush, swamp, savanah. Predators and prey are seen quite often. Also an excellent destination.

About: Tanzania
It was an experience like no other, thrilling and beautiful

The wildlife in Tanzania is amazing. We booked with Tanzania ROadside Expeditions and Paul was very helpful through out the planning and answering any questions we had. We were lucky enough to see the big 5 and got to see many animals up close. The accommodations were great, especially the tented camps. Being able to wake up and see the animals right outside or hear the lions roar at night is something you do not see or hear in other places. Unfortunately it started to rain when we were there so the roads in the parks were very muddy and were not able to go to all parts of the park we would have liked to go but, we cannot complain, it was incredible. Our guide Justin, aka JJ, was the best! He arranged our day so we would be able to see eveyrthing we wanted to see and also relax when we could since we were on our honeymoon. He knows so much of the animals and has an incredible eye. Since the grass was high, it was sometimes hard to spot the animals and he would see a leaf moving and knew something was there! He made our trip much better! It was the first time we were doing a safari and I really recommend Tanzania, you get to experience the whole thing and it will be an unforgettable trip.

the experience was good, and the assistance perfect
4/5

The programm was very interesting and the lodge of very high quality.
Maybe the time dedicated to the safari was a day too long.
The tour operator was always ready to help and we all have an extraordinary experience in South Africa, especcially with the two trips in balloon.

An enormous, spacious, uninhabited, dry, cold and hot, real African landscape

The Central Kalahari is enormous. Driving through this Reserve, only on dirt roads, is quite an experience.
Maybe 2 or 3 other cars can be seen daily. There is a lot more chance to see wildlife than humans.
Don't expect to see animals every 10 minutes. Sometimes you have to drive some distance to see them.
Overall Botswana gives much more bush - wildlife experience than the touristic areas in Kenya.

About: Kenya
good animal viewing but roads and general environment poor
Overall rating
3/5

Wildlife - good viewing but most only visible on the roads, where they are almost "tame"
Guide was great. Indeed all Kenyans were nice to us.
Roads in the parks terrible limiting getting around and detracting from the pleasure of being there. A very rough ride!
Roads to get around also very crowded with terrible traffic jams, mainly due to large trucks.
Due to the inability to cross into Tanzania there were long drives to and from the parks, via Nairobi
Accommodations variable
Nairobi is a polluted crowded city with terrible traffic jams and no redeeming features
in terms of souvenirs, poor quality and very expensive with most not in ebony (although sold as ebony)

An Amazing Safari
5/5

In 2013 my girlfriend and I decided to try something different for Christmas and booked a Safari with Msafiri Travels. It was a fantastic experience - we were flown to the Safari park on a tiny four-seat plane, where we were the only passengers. We were then met by the camp crew at the landing strip and taken to the camp, which was located right on the river shore nearby. The view was beautiful, the staff was friendly, and the accommodation was better than I expected it to be in the middle of nowhere, away from civilization.
There were numerous tours available, on all of which we were the only passengers, so it really felt like a romantic getaway instead of the usual packed-beyond-recognition zoo experience. We were able to see all the animals we wanted and even get very close to some of them.
All in all, it was a very pleasant experience and felt like a real adventure, while still being a great couple's getaway.

About: Tanzania
A trully unique experience

checked first with 3 different safari tours for 8 days safari trip before choosing Zohar. Lilian was incredibly efficient in planning our tour from the day of arrival to the day of departure, with all the details you can think of, straight from the start. She was very attentional, checking on us every time if everything is meeting our expectations. The logistics, the accommodation where we stopped by in our tour were all beyond expectations (except for Ndutu Heritage camp , but it was acceptable for just one night). The lunch provided was warm and not in boxes like for most other travelers with other tour providers. David was our driver , a knowledgeable person, a pleasant companion and a skilled driver, paying attention to all the details, patient with us when we wanted to stop longer to take more pictures, excellent in finding animal spots. He was blessed by a new baby boy while he was with us on the trip and yet he was still committed to our trip until the moment he dropped us off in the airport.
The experience in Tarangire , Ndutu , Serengeti and the Ngorongoro crater was simply unique and indescribable . The passion for wild animals is shared within my family , but seeing them alive was breathtaking, especially at 'zero distance'. it was so vibrantly real yet so unbelievable at the same time.
we were in the car everyday from 7:15am until 6:30pm and never felt the time passing by. despite the many hours the ride was very comfortable.
We loved our trip from A to Z including the local people we met . Overall Zohar tour was beyond expectations and i strongly recommend them to any adventure lovers. Be aware , it gets really dusty on the road , every day because of the off road drive. So make your plans for extra clothes. We were fortunate to spend 2 successive nights in one of the camp so we managed to do laundry. Otherwise , we were short of changes. Binoculars , and DLSRs with high zoom lenses are a must. If you can afford or rent telephoto lenses (minimum 300mm) , it is best. Some animals like leopards and Rhinos were very difficult to spot and very far from road tracks, this is when your gears make a difference. I'm lucky to travel with my family to many different places and to live different travel experiences, but this Safari is my best travel souvenir ever.
