Tailor Made Safaris made a dream come true.
5/5

When you're married 35 years, you want to do something special. We asked Tailor Made Safaris to arrange a trip for us in which we wanted to do several things. Safari, sea, whales, a boat-trip at the river etc. etc.
What a great journey we have got. Every day we enjoyed so much. All the animals, the Big Five, the beautiful birds. The bush, the parks, Kosi Bay, St. Lucia, the Drakensbergen, it was great. A special award for the way Geert en Freya / Tailor Made Safaris arranged everything. The accomodations in the different parks, the guides and Nicolas ( Tailor Made Safaris ), the transport, it was all great. Tailor Made Safaris didn't only promise us a great trip, they made there words come true!!!!!!!!

Amazing Zimbabwe - 4 types of safari in one trip
5/5

I had travelled with this company before but my partner Janet had not. We were both taking early retirement and I wanted to surprise her with something special. They put together an amazing itinerary, kept me informed and made everything happen so smoothly (doesn't always happen in Africa!), even keeping the secret from Janet.
First worry from Janet was how safe is Zimbabwe. There were no worries as we were so well looked after by guides and camp staff. Even the transfers ran without problems.
Imbabala on the banks of the Zambezi was a treat. Moonlight suppers under the stars, amazing game drives and river cruises - even woken from a siesta one afternoon to see a herd of elephants crossing the river. Camp Hwange was totally different, - same wonderful hospitality and food but rugged terrain and close encounters with lion and elephants in particular. Our third camp was again in Hwange but a walking safari with Leon Varley. We tracked leopard, lion, hyena and elephant. An exhilarating experience to be on the ground with the animals. An amazing guy with many incredible stories to tell around the camp fire. The last stop was on an island in Lake Kariba. Safari's from a boat! getting very close to buffalo that would not be possible on land. And the most amazing sunsets, once with an old bull elephant way out in the water feeding on soft reeds with the sun setting behind him which will stay in my memory forever.
In this part of Africa game is almost guaranteed but the difference is the feeling that these special moments with the game are yours alone. There are not dozens of vehicles surrounding a lion unlike the Masai Mara. Mostly it is just your truck and the wildlife.
I cannot recommend the Zambezi Safari Company highly enough for arranging a sensational trip for us, not just the wildlife but superb organisation, so much so that we could totally focus on relaxation and adventure.

Well organized, beautiful experience and they do what they promise!!!
5/5

We had a great time. Communication by mail and almost immediate response. Everything was possible, we made changes, and changes again.... And at the end, everything was 100% organized.
Correct driver, and the cook made nice meals. Accomodation as promised. The safari itself was superb, we saw the Big Five within 3 hours. Really enjoyed the tour with Big Time Safari.
Martha and John, and everybody else who made this such a great experience: THANKS!!!!

Solar eclipse safari
5/5

I went on an eclipse safari to Kenya to witness the total solar eclipse that occurred on 3rd November 2013 in north Kenya. My trip was arranged for by Claudious tours. Everything on the trip worked very well. I was picked up from the airport straight after landing, taken to a really nice "European Standards" hotel, where I stayed for the first night. The next morning I was picked up and went together with Claudius and one other eclipse observer to the airport from where we had a flight to Lodwar, a small rural town in the north of Kenya. After landing in Lodwar, we were picked up and driven to the last village before the eclipse, where we switched for a 4x4 tourist truck in which we continued with several other groups of eclipse observers to the center line. One of the tourists knew the exact and correct co-ordinates of the center line of the eclipse so we stopped on the way, checked by GPS receiver several times and then continued until we were in the right place, where we found a tree to sit in a shade and waited.

The weather was good at first, but there were a few clouds passing during totality, which blocked the sun. Even because of that, it was still a very interesting experience as it got dark very quickly and we still saw the majority of the eclipse as the clouds moved fast and were quickly gone. After the eclipse we drove back to Lodwar, where we had a dinner in a hotel. Claudius checked the standard of that hotel and didn't like it so he found me a room in the best hotel in town. The hotel was full (because of the eclipse), but we managed to find enough beds for everyone. The next morning, everyone had to leave by road towards Nairobi, but for me, Claudious Tours managed to get me a flight so I could fly in the afternoon back to Nairobi and then back home, which was very good as the trip takes about 2 days by road, but only 2 hours by plane.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the whole Safari. Everything was very well arranged and prepared and even that I could only go to Kenya for only 3 days, I still managed to enjoy my time to the best and experience and document the eclipse as I wished (except for the clouds, but nobody has control over the weather). I'd certainly recommend Claudious Tours for anyone who is wishing to go on a safari to Kenya. There is no eclipse for the next about 130 years, but I'm sure the other safaris are as interesting as the eclipse and there is a lot to see in Kenya. Claudious is a very friendly person, nice to talk to and tries his best so that his clients enjoy their time, stay in clean hotels and feel safe for the whole duration of their trip.

Gorilla Experience/Eco Forest Experience
5/5

The 6 night trip to the Congo was a great experience. 2 camps - Ngaga and Lango. Ngaga Camp is well into the jungle, so 2 hours by plane from Brazzaville and then a 4 hour road transfer. The camp accommodation is built on the style of pygmy homes. Very comfortable, well appointed with all amenities. Food was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful. You get 1 trip per day to see the gorillas and spend 1 hour with them. Walking is relatively flat and easy through dense vegetation and trees. Early wake up call at 0500 each day!!!!! Transfer to Lango Camp takes 4 hours. This is an Eco-experience with forest walks, river trips and "bais" walks. Bais are shallow water areas rich in minerals which the animals love to come to to drink. Also a fine camp, very similar to Ngaga and with the same service. Well worth the expense. Pick the correct time of year to go, avoid the wet season.

A dream holiday with first class service!
5/5

We have just returned from a holiday of a lifetime! Right from the beginning - our experience with Liz and Char from Zambezi Safari & Travel Company Ltd was efficient and professional. As we were traveling with our seven and five year old, they listened to our brief and did all they could to ensure that it was a safe and relaxing holiday for the whole family. The accommodation at the Vic Falls Hotel with the inter-leading rooms was stunning and the activities at the camp, where we stayed on Lake Kariba, was just perfect for two little boys who love fishing and game viewing. Liz recommended a wonderful camp called Musango Safari Camp where the staff did everything they could to ensure that we had a great time. The owner and the guides were also very knowledgeable which made the experience very interesting. In our opinion, nothing beats an African Safari and we look forward to planning our next break.
