Remarkable Safari with Base Camp Tanzania
5/5

I have used Base Camp Tanzania for two safaris and believe they are the best in the business. Their expertise ensures you will have the best possible safari experience. My most recent safari was in November 2016 and included days in Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. Thanks to our guide, Thomas, we saw an incredible number of animals. His spotting skills are phenomenal and he was able to anticipate the movements of the animals which led to great positioning for viewing and photos. Highlights included seeing the wildebeest migration, lions on the prowl for water buffalo, and lions mating. A tented camp was recommended and spending three nights in the middle of the Serengeti was nothing short of amazing!

Achmed Phillips, the gregarious company owner, met with us before the safari to review the itinerary and afterward to hear all of our safari stories and share some of his own. Laughs are guaranteed with Achmed!

I highly recommend Base Camp Tanzania!

Simply the best
5/5

Rose guided us expertly through the different options for our fairly grown up family of five - and we ended up with a couple of camps and some beach at the end. Everything exceeded expectations. She knows the market inside out. We spoke to a number of companies but it was clear from speaking to her that Rose was the true insider and the level of service was excellent. As for the holiday itself: absolutely fantastic. Personal, great camps, lovely people and wonderful wildlife and scenery. Thanks so much.

Who cares about the agency, it's all the same
3/5

First of all, I'd like to say that any agency you book through (at least, in the "low prices agency") it's all the same : you will be put in a group with other people who will do exactly the same tour, but that will have book through another agency.

Good things about Spot Kenya Safari :
- was answering quickly
- good price
- give you the itinerary you want

Bad things :
- Told me that I could pay with American Express, and it was then not possible (once I was there !)
- Gave me a very expensive price (900 dollars for 6 days), that I had to bargain to arrive to 700 dollars. People travelling with me had a 680 dollars immediately, without bargaining through another agency.

Then the trip was very good, good driver, many places seen, good hotel ... but this does not depend from Spot Kenya Safari I guess, as the people I was travelling with were with another agency and had the same tour.

Great First-Time in Africa
4/5

My husband and I wanted a safari trip with a visit to Victoria Falls as an add-on. Kobus at Jewel of Africa helped us planned a ten day trip that included staying 4 different lodges in South Africa and Zimbabwe. This offered us a diverse range of experience. The accommodations and game drives were all very good. We had an amazing time in Africa and saw all of the Big 5 thanks to Jewel of Africa.

I am giving them a 4-star because I think communication could have been handled better.

1) Email communication at times was delayed and many follow up emails were required.
2) Our package included a lion walk and a hippo feeding, when we got to both places, both tried to collect money from us because they claimed they hadn't received prepayment for our visits. Even though the payment issue was resolved eventually, it was still very awkward for us to be a part of.
3) Our return flight was supposed to depart from Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. When the final airline ticket was issued, it had changed to depart from Livingstone in Zambia. We were not advised of this change beforehand. This was not only inconvenient, it also made it so that we had to pay extra Visa fee to enter Zambia.

All in all, Jewel of Africa delivered on the itinerary they planned for us. The lodges they chose and the activities they included were really good. I obtained quotes from 8-10 different companies before deciding on Jewel of Africa. This is a legitimate business that offers good value for your budget.

Amazing trip with incredible Khanga Safari team !
5/5

This was our first time in Africa and my boyfriend and I wanted to choose the right safari company to make the most of our 7 days in Kenya.

I chose Khanga Safari and I can only say that we had an amazing trip. We chose the 7 days safari trip and had the most amazing time, thanks to Khanga Safari teams.
From before the trip: with Lawrence & Bernard fully available and responsive within a few hours (dedicated WhatsApp number for "live" questions)
To during the trip: everything was really well organized wit no hic-cups along the way, Christopher our driver was amazing: he knew so much about the wildlife and had incredible eyes spotting all incredible animals. Chris taught us a lot about the animals there and he also took tons of pictures of us (great photos by the way, thanks for the souvenirs!). Also, the trip is done as a private tour so we had the van to ourselves with my boyfriend and I can only recommend to do so as this will make your experience so much more exclusive and fully aligned with your own wishes.

In our trip, we got to see the Big 5 and so much more ! Incredible diversity of animals, jaw-dropping landscapes, very good accommodation & food. I can only recommend Khanga: you will have the most amazing time !

14d Kenia/Tanzania - great selection of parks and camps. Knowledgable and fun guides. Good cars.
5/5

14 day Wildebeest Migration Safari in Kenia and Tanzania.
We had a great experience with Wildebeest Safaris and can highly recommend them. The selection of Nationalparks was well chosen. The accommodation always excellent, the guides very knowledgable and patient with us when we asked to stop for the perfect picture spot again and again.
Because we crossed the border between Kenia and Tanzania we had to swap cars and guides. The change was very well organised and easy. For the remoter Nationalparks we got Landcruisers which were really needed as the roads can be very bumpy and distances can be very big. The drivers did an excellent job on those rough Offroad conditions, even with us looking out of the pop up roof under those conditions.
The animal spotting was unbelievable. On our first day we had already seen 4 of the Big Five. Specially Eustace our first guide had very good knowledge of all animals and with his friendly attitude had great connections to all other drivers nearby who would tell us their best spottings.

Fantastic and Comfortable Safari Experience
5/5

Yala Safaris was a great first safari experience. They picked us up promptly on time so we made it to Murchison Falls early enough to relax before heading out for the night game drive. The accommodations and meals were some of the best we've had in the entire time we stayed in Uganda! Very professional experience and Stanley and Michael were great to have as tour guides around Murchison. They knew a lot about the animals we saw and their positivity and enthusiasm made the entire experience much more fun! Thanks for being so accommodating. I had a thoroughly lovely experience!

Excellent Company and Staff
5/5

Booked a family holiday in South African, Botswana and Namibia with Megan from Discover Africa. I cannot praise them highly enough. Everything was spot on from the day we booked. What was surprising to me most Travel Companies book and forget but not Megan or Discover Africa. I regularly had emails and when it came to our trip a bon voyage they were amazing. The Hotels and lodges were beautiful and service second to none. I am from the UK and been travelling to the African sub continent twice a year since 1994. This is by far the best company i have ever dealt with. Trust me call or email and leave it to the 10star+. Well done all of you.

Cheap safari for a veruy good quality
4/5

Safari always means spending a lot of money. However, when going to Tanzania, you cannot miss the occasion to to on a safari tour. I was surprised to see that you still could get 5 days safari for a decent price (875$/pers). I was afraid of the quality of the safari for this price but I was surprised in a good way. The price determines more the lodgement and maybe the food a bit; but that is all. If you do not mind sleeping in a Quechua tent (everything was foreseen: mattress, sleeping bag, cushion, etc.) and that you are not looking for a 5 stars meal neither (still, the food was good!), then definitely go for this tour with Meru Slope. We have seen everything (except a rhino, but that is the nature's rule; you are never sure you will see all animals) and our guide, Steven, was great! He knew all the good places and he was patient; he is working for 15 years I think, but still he is passionate (more than some other guides who stopped only 30 sec or even did not stop at all when passing by interesting animals or great landscapes). He also gave us plenty of explanations.
The only negative point was the fact the organization did not tell us in advance we needed to bring cash to pay the remaining amount (same for other people in our group), which led to quite some discussions. So do not forget to bring all the money with you because they do not take cards (unless you do not mind being charges for getting 5 times money at the ATM...because you can only withdraw like 140$ equivalent) This is the only reason why I do not give 5/5.
Thanks again for this great safari, especially to Steven, this was an amazing experience I will never forget! I would not change anything!
