Review about Tarangire National Park by Hari L Ratan
Overall rating
4/5

Excellent place for elephants and ungulates, the great Baobob trees which are common here provide a great experience. Stunning in fact.

Easy wildlife spotting and in quick succession
Overall rating
4/5

We left our hotel rather early in the morning to enter the crater hoping to leave behind the crowd. A large number of sightings and in quick succession are possible as the crater or in fact the Ngorongoro Caldera holds a variety of mammals and birds. All mammals are contained within the crater and most of them live here till they die, without easy access to the outside world.

Within a few minutes of entering the Crater we were rewarded with a sighting of a Serval cat, which according to our driver is not rare but difficult to spot. Then started a series of spottings, rhinos, elephants, gazelles, hyenas, lions, kori bustards, wildebeests, ape buffalos and many birds.

If in a short while one wants a taste of African wildlife then one must visit the Ngorongoro crater.

Go there early in the morning and take in the wonderful landscape in the early morning sun. The landscape changes with every minutes with the sun changing the quality of light swiftly.

In a couple of hours and after more than 20 minutes with the black rhinos we decided to drive over to Ngoitokitok Springs for our breakfast, Ngoitokitok means a bubbly spring and this is a great spot to spend some time watching the Hippos grunting, coming close to the shore and staying away at a respectful distance. Weaver and other birds coming over to share your food, the ducks making noise all add to the wonder of this place. A drive to Lake Magadi to watch the flamingos though from a distance and at the same time watch the numerous mammals that graze there will make one believe that this a Garden of Eden.

The walls of the crater offer a great background for photographing the animals here in the open crater and this along with the quality of light make it a photographers delight.

No visit to Tanzania can be complete without a visit to Ngorongoro crater.

Experience of a lifetime
4/5

The communication at first was not that great because when we arrived at the airport there was no one to pick us up, we had to take a cab to our first hotel in Arusha. And when you arrive to a new country/ a new continent for the first time it is quite hard to know how everything is working and therefore scary not knowing if someone should or should not pick us up. We did not even know the name of is agent we only knew the name of the Swedish company TagAlong. We did not even have a phone or phone number to call stainbok adventures...
Also the communication was not that well when we traveled within Tanzania between the mainland and Zanzibar.

When we traveled to Zanzibar, we got left on the airport without any help in Arusha. And we had to fix everything by ourselves. We came to Arusha which stainbok adventures left us at, but later it showed that we had to switch airport to Kilimanjaro... The airplane was also 5 hours late. No one told us and we felt that people knew things they didn't tell us, we didn't get informed.
And also the flights between Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and Daar El Salam was under all critic. We had the wrong time on our tickets and we had to get help from our hotel manager Rasta, he fixed everything with help from Gidione.

However, when we got our guide Manuel in Arusha everything became so amazingly good. He took care of us, listen to what we wanted to see and do. His guiding was first class and we felt that we saw everything Tanzania had to offer. He made the safari excellent. We had some problems with the electricity at one of our hotels but Manuel help us with that.

We are all in all happy with our experience of Tanzania, Zanzibar and the safari. The problems however took down the grade of our expectations but it was such a wonderful trip and probably we will come back in the future, hopefully without any disruptions.

Best regards,
Ulf and Marie

Amazing
4/5

We had a custom safari (husband and wife) organized through Karibu Safaris In Kenya, since we wanted to see both Kenya and Tanzania - especially the Masai Mara and The Serengeti. It was a 10 day, 9 night trip. The best part was the Masai Mara - that was our first experience of the animals and it was incredible . Our Driver guide, Tom, was terrific and worked hard to please us. We didn't realize, although we had a good time, that the Serengeti was dryer. When we got there, there seemed to be fewer animals. We didn't realize when we booked that we would build a rapport with our first guide in Kenya. So it was difficult to adjust to another style of camping and so on, but overall Kenya was the best followed by Tanzania.

Amboseli is a beautiful park. Animals are plentiful and there is always opportunity to take photographs of them with a backdrop of the kilimanjaro mountain.

Great Company - Great Trip
4/5

We had a really good trip with Kilimanjaro Budget Safaries...it was well organized and all four of us reached the top of mount Kilimanjaro...thanks to the guides and their advice...
The food was amazing, we wouldn't have expected to get such nice meals on our climbing trip...also the porters were really nice.
I recommend the company...and would do a Kili-Tour with them again...

Well laid out 2,5 day Safari tour
4/5

We booked the tour based on recommendations and were not disappointed. We were picked up promptly at the small Arusha airport and taken to the Cloud View lodge, which is a small hotel on the outskirts of Arusha. The hotel was Ok and quiet.
We had a good briefing of the program The hotel is ok. We then went on a tour to a near by Masai settlement. This could have been better organized. Lots of waling on the main road and a somewhat cramped journey back in one of the local taxi buses. We went to the Tarangire National park, well worth the visit, but watch out for the Vervet monkeys when you have lunch. We stayed the Sunbright campsite in Mto Wa Mbu. Fairly basic. The tour operator brought a cook that provided ok breakfast and dinner. On the third day we visit the Ngorongoro crater. spectacular. The supplied 4x4 game drive vehicle was good and the driver/guide very good. The last day we visited the Lake Manyara NP, very close to village where we stayed, before we departed from the Arusha Airport.

Nearly everything was good, the guide (and driver) and the cook were very friendly
4/5

We did a trip with Mabri Adventure Safaris to Serengeti, to Ngorongoro Crate and to Tanguire National Parc. Maribi Adventure Safaris is a really good company. Albert and Rose are reliable businesspeople. Our guide was Eric, a very friendly and humorous man with very good German knowledge. Our meals were delicious - sorry, I forgot the name of the fantastic cook.
Unfortunately we had a very old safari car and several breakdowns. Therefore we couldn't do all trips as we had planned. This was very bad luck!
