Miles better than airport hotel

We arrived here at the lodge 90 minutes after landing with dinner waiting at 2300. Next morning at 0600 we were on our first game drive. The ranger was excellent and vechicles comfortable. In 2 drives and a walk we saw 51 birds and 17 mammals including lion with the city as a back drop!!!!

The lodge was comfortable and the food was excellent

Great way to start a trip

Awesome Experience

Its an awesome experience. The hospitality, transparency and value for money derived from using this agency makes me want to use them over and over again.

Lake Mburo has what most other parks in Uganda lack: Zebras. You can walk and hike but hundreds of zebras it is pretty incredible.

Game drives in Queen Elizabeth
Overall rating
4/5

I spent one day and one night in Queen Elizabeth and did the game drive in Inshasha and one in the north of the park. The scenery was good especially in the south of the park. We saw lots of animals including several close encounters with elephants. Sadly no lions though. I drove my personal car but we picked up an UWA ranger for the game drive. I'm glad we did since he knew the best places to stop which I would have likely passed otherwise. We stayed overnight @theRiver which I definitely recommend. Good food and accommodation. There were not many other tourists around so it felt like we had a lot of the park to ourselves. I went in February which is the dry season and was a nice climate.

Overall a very good operator, also for the budget traveler.

I had an unforgettable experience in Kenya with Big Time, seeing the Big Five! The program was custom made (3 days Masai Mara, 1 day Nakuru) and they are very flexible in setting up this program! Accommodation is average, but the food is luckily good for African Standards! Furthermore, program is fixed and punctual. I would like to thank everyone, John and in particular Stanley + Joseph for being great drivers during the Game Drives.

Lots of wildlife in a beautiful setting

Amakhala game reserve is set in beautiful surroundings. We had four game drives where we saw many of the big 5 animals. We particularly enjoyed seeing a lioness with her cubs. A highlight of our safari was a bush picnic as the sun was setting over the reserve. Highly recommended... particularly as there are very few other vehicles around

It was a last minute ad hoc tour to Masindi / Fort Munchin
4/5

Everything worked out and was very well organised. We saw most of what we hoped to see. The guide wwas excellent (Eric) and knowledgable. I would reccomend the tour. Some prior info would have helped , for example to know that the rhino visit would be on foot would have alerted us not to wear shorts, etc

This is a great place to see wild life.

We visited this park last year and I was pleasantly surprised with the beauty of nature and its animals. We stayed in the park accommodation and we found them to be clean, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. What a pleasure. The parks shop has all that one needs when visiting a park and the public ablutions are clean and modern. The restaurant is geared for good food and the menu has quite a variety of South African dishes.

Concerning the wild life, this is a green park with lots of animal and you will see elephant. You can do your own game drives or use the Sanparks open vehicles. There are picnic spots that are well maintained but always remember that your are in a national park with wild animal and please be careful.

We will visit this park again in 2015 as we take in tour groups and we always enjoy this park.

About: Kenya
Great Trip
Overall rating
4/5

It was an easy flight from Addis to Nairobi where I caught an afternoon ride to the Sankara Hotel. I had a pleasant evening and was met promptly at 7:00am as promised. The 5 hour ride to the camp just outside the Masai Mara Reserve went smoothly and included vistas of the Rift Valley and a couple of opportunities to do some shopping.

The camp was welcoming and the room generous and comfortable. The only surprise was the hot water bottle at the foot of my bed, which I thought was a small animal!

The afternoon included a stop at a Masai village where, for $30, you could get a tour of their homes and see some dancing. It was a fine experience, but I would have preferred not to have been given a tour of their wares with the expectation of a purchase at the end.

The ride to the game park was only interrupted by a gaggle of women animatedly selling their wares with calls of “Jambo, Hello! All for $10!” As I awaited my driver paying the entrance fee.

The park was amazing! I was able to see Zebra, Giraffes, and Water Buffalo within minutes of entering. The next two days were equally exciting as we saw Cheetah, lions, Hippos, Topi, Hyenas, Impala, Elephants, a Leopard, and many birds. The only one of the Big Five I didn’t see was a Rhino.

Overall, it was a great trip and made even greater by my guide, with his eagle eyes and kind demeanor, Charles.
