Pleasant stay at Chogela Camp-Ruaha NP
4/5

We visited Ruaha NP and stayed at Chogela Camp. It is a nicely setted tented camp with camp fire in the evening and very delicious dinner. The tour was guided by a very enthusiastic nice tanzanian who gave a lot of information to the park and the anaimals, so it was an interesting day throughout. Also all other poeple in the camp were very pleasant
Several but very minor details prevent me from giving 5 stars (Tent not closing properly, no light in the toilet or shower, sparse toilet paper, well, can live with it and prepare myself). I would definetely go go and stay there again, the next time we will visit.

Awesome Tour from VIVA Safari, Bad customer Service from Booking agency
Overall rating
2/5

The tour ist just great. Awesome staff at the Camps, good Guides, lots of animals. 5*! You can book it from a Lot of booking agencies.

What was really bad is the fact that we were not informed about our late Pickup. The driver was there around 11 instead of 8.30/9. We could not reach anyone at the booking Agency, the south african representative told us that he did not work there anymore.

Makasa fantastic
5/5

We had a fantastic safari including visits to the locals and Masai tribe. Everything was perfectly arranged. We had some beautiful domestic flights over the Serengeti and we saw the Big 5 in just the first 2 days. Everything was very well taken care of. Thank you Makasa for a journey that was very beautiful to us. It was one BIG adventure.

It has everything from the greatest concentration of animals, to incredible scenery with a lot of variety. It also geared for tourism, which makes it that be easier to get around.

Our trip was spectacular, thanks to our amazing guides and caring bush camp team. We saw amazing wildlife, made new friends, and learned a lot about the Bush in Botswana!

Naenda was here for us
5/5

I went to Tanzania with my friend (up to Moshi) with the wish of climbing the Kilimanjaro. We are students so we needed to find something affordable. We went to "naenda agency" (a fake agency) and they offered us to climb de Kilimanjaro in 3 days and for 400$/person. We agreed. Once we arrived at the gate, we found out that this agency took us completely for idiots and that they just stoled money from us. Actually, we had to pay more then 300$ more for services, fees... We were just remaining with a few tanzanian shilling in the pocket. The guide wasn't friendly at all and he had no respect, we didn't feel safe at all. Actually it's a very long story. But at the end, once we went back from the Kili, we wanted to speak to the responsible from Naenda agency to get our money back. With a lot of hazard, we spoked with the real naenda people and we understood that the agency with who we went on the Kili was pretending to be the real "naenda safari". Shortly, this agency was pretending to be Naenda safari. So everything was false, the papers, insurance... Once we met the real staff member of Naenda, they helped us with everything. They came to pick us up near the gate of the kili, and brought us back to Moshi. We went together at the police station to complain. And they helped us financially so that we can take a bus to go back at the border of Rwanda.
I really want to thank them for everything and I wish them all the best.
Johanna.

About: Uganda
My safari in Uganda was simply fantastic! Every aspect was amazing!
Overall rating
5/5

My trip with Home to Africa was everything I had hoped for! I traveled to Uganda as a single women, on a solo trip and I didn't know what to expect. Home to Africa tours and Karim in particular were just perfect. Of course, the gorillas are amazing (you may be 6 feet away from them! Be aware, the trek to see them is not easy...be in shape and USE A PORTER!) Everywhere you look, wildlife abounds and this place is a birders paradise. My treks were everything I had hoped for. The accommodations were also very unique and special...and I mean this is a very positive way. I LOVED the variety of accommodations and the attention to detail. Ugandan coffee overlooking the game reserve as elephants walk by...does it get any better? Majestic hills, beautiful lakes where wildlife gather, crested cranes and towering trees surround you. Your dinner, served to you by candlelight many times, is superb. Every day on my safari was unique. You will travel far and wide to see all of Uganda, but it well worth the trek. After 6 days, I still felt there was so much to see and do. Home to Africa tours made my trip so special! They are responsive and are very good at adjusting the schedules if travel plans change suddenly. Ask for KARIM for sure! He is very knowledgeable and easy to work with. Truly, this trip was such a good time and I felt relaxed the entire time.

Safety, Safaris & Adventure
5/5

We looked at several different options for our photo safari, and eventually chose a one-week tour suggested by John Muhoho from CKC Tours, Travels & Carhire.

We lifted off Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, heading for adventure. Indeed, watching the tiny planes landing on Mara River Airport’s dirt tracks a little while later, we couldn’t help but think of films like King Solomo’s Mines, already feeling like adventurers ourselves.

What followed were seven perfectly organised days in the Mara River Lodge and engaging – if admittedly not quite as dangerous as we felt adventurous, what with the perfect organisation – safaris. As luck would have it, we got to see all of the ‘Big Five’ – elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion & leopard – and even got to watch the migration of zebras and wildebeests over the Mara river, complete with some of the latter involuntarily feeding the crocodiles.

From the lodge itself, we could easily spot hippopotamuses resting in the water and crocodiles basking in the sun, although our sense of adventure and danger was once again foiled by the presence of an electric fence standing between them and us – admittedly an understandable safety precaution. Losing the odd tourist to an angry hippo or hungry croc would probably be bad for business.

All in all, it was a remarkably enjoyable and surprisingly relaxing holiday. Our gratitude goes to John and the Mara River Lounge staff – especially our guide Patrick – for the perfect organisation that made this trip such a wonderful experience.

Summiting Mt Kilimanjaro
5/5

I have used Focus In Africa twice now to climb Mt Kilimanjaro with large groups. The trips are very well organised, the food is fantastic and the guides are extremely professional. We had 100% success rate on both trips which is a big achievement for any operator. I also used Focus In Africa for safari's and again, this was very well organised. Throughout my dealings with Focus In Africa I found them to be very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. I would highly recommend Focus In Africa for any of your African adventures.
