Big 5 in 5 days! Experience of a lifetime!
Read the hype on the African big 5 before the trip but wasn't expecting to get to see all as these are wild animals free to roam in their own environment. Was absolutely over the moon that with a day spare we had got to see evey single one. And these were not just glimpses of a spec of an animal on the horizon these were close up encounters with each one. To be so close that you can hear them breathe and smell them really opens up the senses to appreciate how majestic these wild animals really are. I will be looking fondly back on the awesome photos for many years to come!
Really cannot recommend the trip highly enough. Everything went smoothly and happened as planned. Accommodation was out of this world. I would never have thought such luxury accommodation would be possible in such a remote area of wilderness.
The views were outstanding. The sort of views that bring inner peace if you just sit and stare. What an unbelievable part of the world.

Safari meets Beach adventure
This was my second visit to Simply Saadani and it was as enjoyable as my first. The staff were unfailingly eager to see that our stay was memorable in every way. The food was ample and extremely good and it is amazing to see the marvels that the chef turns out on a daily basis sometimes using only a charcoal stove! Each bungalow is right on the beach and separated enough from the other to afford total privacy. While the game park itself is not as populated with animals as are other parks in Tanzania, it is the only one that allows you to go on a game drive then immediately go for a dip in the ocean. If you are lucky enough to be staying when the owners are there then you are in for a treat as David and Tara are not only great hosts but they are also full of interesting stories which kept us thoroughly entertained. The camp is also heavily involved in conservation of both animals and of natural resources. The entire camp runs on 'green' energy and it is nice to see resources being thoughtfully utilized without sacrificing guest comfort. All in all I rank Simply Saadani as a superlative experience for anyone who wants to experience more than the usual game park.
Great budget safari in Masaai Mara

Amazing trip-beautifully coordinated, great places to stay, knowledgeable guides & great communication
We had an amazing time in Africa thanks to Chalo Africa. Multiple reasons why me and my family are thoroughly impressed with them:
1. Great communication and great patience : I atleast shared 100 emails with ChaloAfrica not because the plan was not clear from their side, but because my plan kept changing - both on the dates and the number of people who were joining me. However, Chalo Africa's representatives were both very patient and accommodating plus also gave wonderful suggestions based on the different input size of the group. My parents were joining a bit late and it was a complex itinerary but through detailed communication, Chalo Africa made sure that it was very well co-ordinated. Also, they were genuinely interested in us having an amazing time and kept sharing well-thought about articles for us to read that can prepare us for the trip and also get us excited.
2. Stay Places : Our favorite part about the safari in Kenya were the conservancies which Chalo Africa team suggested and also partner with Porini Camps which are in the conservancies- the regular national parks are amazing - don't get me wrong but staying in the conservancies is a really fun experience. First, we stayed in tented camps that are between the jungle - a hippo grazed right next to our tent one day and a bull elephant passed around 50 feet from us while we were having lunch. However, they keep you safe with guards who know the jungle really well. Also, in the conservancies you can do guided nature walks (we saw tons of giraffes, zebras and many other animals while walking an it is certainly a different feeling). Also, the food at Porini Camps was fantastic - here also, Chalo Africa had communicated our dietary preferences really well and it was all really well taken care of.
3. Invested in your trip : Chalo Africa was really invested in our trip and also created a What's App group with all their representatives in it so that they can help answer any question we have right from the time we left our home country to the time we came back. This was really helpful as we could ask anything on What's App and they were very prompt to reply - great service.
4. Partnership with great camps and guides : As mentioned, Chalo Africa partnered with Porini Camps and we loved it. Also, the guides were very knowledgeable, friendly and made sure that they catered to every member of the family. Good guides and camps are necessary for having a good experience and Chalo Africa made sure we got the best.
Overall, I highly recommend Chalo Africa for their great service - they put in a lot of effort to make sure you have the best time. I have traveled around the world quite a bit but Kenya trip was extra-special all thanks to Chalo Africa.

What a wonderful experience with Felix and Unison Safaris. Lovely choice of hotels too!
Felix was a great driver/guide and friend! Very helpful and did a great job selecting the hotels. We were able to see almost all the animals (exception was the leopard) but the others made up for it. Loved the game drives. Fully recommend using Felix to anyone. However, did not like the outpost lodge very much. But the other hotels like the Kisura tented camp and Eileens Tree in Karatu were lovely. Heard the Lions just outside the tent one night - an experience we will never forget!!!!

Excellent local manager and driver
They have rich and enough experience for Serengety and Ngorogoro tours and we could see a lot of animals including big5 during 6days visiting. I hope to ask arranging the tours again when I come back to Serengety.
The reason for reasonable is all arrangement by local but it is no problems with manager Mr. David and driver Mr.Gigi. During our visiting, when a minor issue happened, David and Gigi had been working well. I feel favorable impression by managed the company and tour by local people only.

Trip of a lifetime!
We had an absolutely amazing and unforgettable 5 day safari with It Started In Africa. From the moment that we first spoke with the company to begin the process of booking, we knew they would go out of their way to make our safari an experience of a lifetime. We were blown away with the dedication of the staff. When our flight had an unexpected last minute change and flew into a different airport, they quickly made arrangements for a driver to come and collect us there. When our luggage was lost in Switzerland on route to Africa and didn't arrive to Arusha until a day after we started our safari, our driver Elia, added a 3 hour drive back to to the city, after a day long safari drive, to collect our luggage and bring it to our lodge. An unbelievable act of kindness that enhanced our trip further by having our belongings with us!
Our first day in Lake Manyara National Park was a brilliant start to our 5 day adventure. Seeing baboons, monkeys, zebras, giraffes, buffalo, wildebeests, and hippos on our first day was more than we could have ever imagined. Each day after, we were sure that it couldn't top the previous day, but with each day, our expectations were surpassed and our safari experience became a life changing experience for our family of four. Our driver, Elia, made it his mission for us to see the "Big 5" as well as many other animals, and he delivered! He was so patient with us and never rushed us needing to take one more picture of an elephant or lion. He would stop at the request of anyone in our family and was quick to point out interesting sights that we had not spotted. He was pleasant, engaging, knowledgeable and great with kids. He taught us so many things about African wildlife and had a knack of finding hiding animals. On our way to the Serengeti National Park, we stopped to explore a Maasai Village and were entertained by their mesmerizing dances and songs. We also had the opportunity to bring food and school supplies to the village and purchase items made by Maasai women. Our two days in the Serengeti National Park saw a cheetah searching for her babies, herds of elephants grazing the fields, millions of wildebeests flooding the savannah, a male lion killing a hyena, a newborn gazelle taking its first steps, hippos battling, and a leopard lazing in a tree. Staying in the luxury tents in the middle of the Serengeti is an experience I highly recommend. Waking to zebras outside your tent and falling asleep to the sound of animals in the distance was something I will never forget. Our final day in the Ngorongoro Crater offered the last of the "Big 5" as we spotted one of 14 rhinos left in the crater, in addition to warthogs, and baby hippos to name a few! That night we camped under the stars and were treated to a surprise visit from an elephant drinking from the camp reservoir just before sunset. Our children were awestruck by how close they were to an elephant in the wild. We watched a beautiful sunset before retiring to our tents for a wonderful sleep to end an experience of a lifetime. The next day we returned to Arusha for our final night in this city before heading to Zanzibar for a beach holiday.
The final part of our time in Tanzania was also organized by It Started in Africa. We were keen for our children to visit a school and to donate much needed supplies to students in Tanzania. It Started in Africa is affiliated with a school in Dar Es Salaam and arranged for the principal to meet us and take us to the school. Our children both raised funds prior to leaving Canada to purchase 40 soccer balls and $600 worth of school supplies to take to this school. It was fantastic to see the joy on the faces of the children when they received these gifts, and equally pleasing to see our children become global citizens helping those in need. We feel so fortunate to have been able to go on a safari in Tanzania with It Started in Africa and to have the opportunity to visit and volunteer at a school in Dar Es Salaam. I highly recommend It Started in Africa to anyone who wants an experience of a lifetime at an affordable price! Thank you It Started in Africa!
Many thanks for everything!

Professionally organized, superbly executed and friendly & knowledgeable guides
Tremendous credit to Amanda who is extremely patient and diligent working with us. We started as a family of 4 and slowly it increased to 9 members and Amanda patiently worked with us to finalize the itinerary. She also helped us to sort out a bizarre problem with an airline booking which I had made on fastjet.com (All the passenger names appeared same as mine though I entered it correctly) and they refused to change it. Amanda was able to get a contact in their head office in UK and helped me to get the names corrected.
We had two jeeps/guides (Themba and Kefa -- I hope I am spelling it correctly) and both were fun to have around. They were knowledgeable and friendly.
I highly recommend African Scenic Safaris and would be happy to answer any pointed questions.
