So much more than expected!
I booked this tour because I knew it would be the best way to experience the area around Kruger National Park. Neil was incredible & an amazing example of this company is all about! Its customers. Neil was prompt in responding to all of my emails in trying to plan what I thought would be the most enjoyable activities for my husband and I. He was very flexible & hospitable.
What I expected was a nice tour guide who would sort of distance himself from us until we arrived at our final destination & began engaging in our activities.... but not Neil. Neil was all about sharing the history and facts of South Africa. He was very informative in all aspects of our trip. Honestly, it was like traveling with a friend. We all shared biltong & had some great conversations. He took the time to get to know us, & vice-versa! He also, was our personal photographer at times ( we didn't have to ask, he asked us!), and he knew some great places for some awesome photos! He gave us great tips on other places in Africa to visit! If something wasn't quite working out in the schedule, Neil would figure out a way to make it work. He was always going above and beyond!
If you are looking for a tour guide company, I would highly recommend this one, unless you don't like to have fun! Should we require one again.... this is who we will choose, hands down!
Thanks, Neil! You helped give us a trip that we will never forget!

Amazing safari with Active Tanzania Adventures!
We saw a lot of beautiful animals, the cook (Muli?) was amazing (we had some delicious and varied food!) and the driver was always looking after our security and our comfort!

Trip of a lifetime with Wilderness Legends Africa.
Great local guides provided a fantastic experience in Tanzania. I learned so much more about the people, animals and places than I expected. It is a beautiful country with diverse history and incredible wild animal viewing. We were able to see the "big 5" and so much more. Highly recommended.

Outstanding Adventure
I can not say enough good things about Wilderness Legends. The trip was fantastic both in the variety of landscapes, animals and people that we met but especially because of our very knowledgable and personable guides who went to every effort to be sure we saw everything we wanted to see, were cared for in every way and helped us understand the great beauty and complexity of Tanzania. The accommodations were wonderful, all locally run. Very comfortable but more importantly full of the warmth of the Tanzanian people. I have been to Tanzania 30 years before and on three other safari trips in East Africa and South Africa, but none were as memorable this trip. Thank you so much for a trip we can never forget

Review about Moremi Game Reserve by Mary
Moremi was another favorite destination. So many active animals in June. Hundreds of elephants and many lions, buffalo, wild dog, hyena and leopard. I especially liked our campground which was near one of the bridges. Beautiful spot!

Review about Chobe National Park by Mary
Chobe National Park was probably my favorite stop because of it being on the river. We saw so many elephants playing in the water........hundreds of buffalo crossing the river. And so much greenery! Very different than the more desert-type areas.

Our safari (our first!) was more than we expected it be. Once in a lifetime adventure!
Nxai Pan was our first stop on our two week mobile tent safari. Took the better part of a day to drive from Maun with our first stop being Thomas Baines Baobas. Wow! Breathtaking. When we were told the legend that the trees were thrown to Earth below, we could understand why! Since we were there in winter, the leaves were gone and the branches look like the roots. We stayed 2 nights in Nxai Pan and we were treated to our very first view of 2 magnificent male lions lounging in the sun. Still my very favorite memory of the trip. Of course, other wildlife is abundant and hundreds of bird species. Our weather was perfect; cold in the mornings but beautiful and comfortably warm by 10am. Our guide was Alwyn Myburgh of Yambo Safaris. Very knowledgable guide & tracker. His crew was outstanding! The food was out of this world.......better than anything I could ever cook at home and they were cooking on a open fire. Seriously.....fresh bread daily and chocolate mousse? Alwyn had arranged for everything we would ever need during our two weeks in Botswana. I would love to go back and take the family some day. What a special trip!
