Sameco Tours gave me a wonderful 70th birthday on safari in Africa
5/5

Traveling across the bush on the way to Masai Marah was how I spent my 70th birthday and it was the best celebration I ever had although no one knew it but me. Later in the day we saw all the important animals plus two that were rare. We ate a delicious buffet meal worthy of a party and stayed in rooms with all the amenities we needed and slept in luxury beds.

Our guide was named Eustace and his English was impeccable while he served us so very well from the North of Kenya to the Tanzania border. He educated us on Kenya and the animals and the culture. We felt very blessed to have him as our guide. He saw to it that we saw every animal visible to the human eye while keeping his eye on the challenging roads.

I hadn’t wanted a “canned safari.” By that I meant being herded onto buses and treated like tourists. Our safari was exactly what I wanted--small, personal, flexible and yet with attention to comfort. It was designed more for travelers than tourists which is how I see myself.

My regret is that I didn’t see Africa much sooner in my life before animals were put into reserves and domesticated. I was grateful that we did not happen across a kill nor did we see a single snake--both things I dreaded, but, after all, we were in Africa! That is the very thing to be expected.

I can’ t praise Sameco Tours enough and remained impressed from the personal pickup at the airport to the race to get me off earlier than the rest of the group at the end for my return to where I live in Bali.

A truly memorable, fun, action packed, educational safari!
5/5

Darren and Kate were extremely generous with pre departure information even including a reading list. Everything was very organised and not once did we have to "think" about logistics, meals...everything was superbly pre-organised. Nothing was ever a problem.

A small group tour that made us feel very welcome, through out the whole trip.
5/5

This trip was above and beyond what we expected and hoped for. Everything was well planned and everyone catered for. As we had a truck for transport most of the time wildlife viewing was outstanding. Seeing a small inside to the African schools and having local guides at various stops was an added bonus. Food was excellent as was the friendliness and knowledge of the tour staff. Care taken to keep hygiene standards high was much appreciated, avoiding any sickness etc.

Relaxed, extremely comfortable and informative trip in a lesser known part of Africa.

The trip through Botswana and Namibia was so interesting. Seeing those rolling sand dunes with their living heart, plants and small creatures. Seeing the changing landscape from sea to waterfall. The visions will always remain with me after the names drift off. The staff on the trip - Crusty the tour guide, Noel the truck driver (he was insistent it was NOT A BUS) and Michael the assistant - all knew so much of the surrounding country and exuded their love of this wild country. You will also never experience again those exceptional accommodation places. That was a REAL AFRICA experience.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kanuth and his team in Tanzania. His staff and services are professional, pleasant and personable. I was made to feel at home and welcome. No request is too big. The trip to Mikumi National Park was exceptional. We were able to drive into the midst of a pride of 8-10 lions and lioness as they rested by a stream and waited for the cool evening. We were amazingly close offering stunning video and photo opportunities. I am pleased to say that I remain in contact with Kanuth because he is the best and I know that I will see him again in the future as returning to Tanzania is just a matter of when.

The baibob trees here were soooooooo outstanding . We counted 165 elephants one afternoon and the giraffes posed for pictures. It was greener and hillier than the other parks. Very interesting !!!

Excellent hilly views . Our lodge here had a swimming pool which the children ( 6 to 15 years ) loved . Was a pleasant introduction to the different terrains of Tanzania.

Unbelievable crater .... we saw a few different animals here. Again our lodge was " first class" overlooking the crater.
