Best safari experience with amazing guide
5/5

giraffes, zebras, hippos, monkeys, impalas, worthog, buffalos and even lions). What we really appreciated was that Fikiri seemed to be knowledgeable about where we can spot certain animals and he also explained a few details about how they live.
We got to our hotel at sunset and proceeded to check in and have some dinner. We spent a bit of time just talking to Fikiri and he was opened to our suggestions for the next day.
The second day was perfect, we woke up early and had another drive in the safari. We had a lovely morning together and again found Fikiri's knowledge of the park to be very helpful in spotting the animals.
After breakfast, we proceed on our way back to Dar El Salam and had a couple of stops and a lunch break
Overall this was a lovely experience and we appreciated:
The knowledge of our guide (of the park and just general conversation)
The spots we stopped for food were clean, the food was good and the bathrooms were clean
The hospitality was amazing. Everyone was happy to help us and kind
The national park itself and it's beauty

I'd highly recommend it as an experience

Really enjoyable Kenyan experience although not all smooth sailing
4/5

We had a wonderful time in Kenya and we had a truly fantastic guide in Andrew that took us to the Mara and to Naivasha- we would genuinely have enjoyed to have been with him for longer. We enjoyed the tour that had been arranged for us and our friends by William although sadly at the very last minute our accomodation was changed and having been very excited about where we were going to, suddenly this all changed. The new lodge was ok but we would have preferred the original option.
The coast hotel that he booked us was excellent.

Knowledgeable
5/5

Solomon provided us a sensational safety experience. We went to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and learned so much from Solomon- his strong knowledge on the history of the park, all the animals, Arusha and various ethnic groups throughout Tanzania including the Maasai people, really showed. We saw Lions, Zebras, elephant, hyenas and so on all up close. Lots of laughs, and great service- the food was especially good!

About: Uganda
Exceptional beauty and poverty.
Overall rating
4/5

I visited the western half of Uganda that is full of green and wonderful. Murchison and Queen Elizabeth National Parks provide the opportunity to meet lots of wild species, and In Bwindi Impenetrable Forest you can visit gorillas. The beauty of Bunyonyi lake is go beyond everything. The country is basically safe, the lodges are below European standards, but the surroundings and athmosphere make them unforgettable experiences. The Ugandan kitchen is really good with mainly pork, chicken, beef and fish dishes, and a lot of fruits (mainly water melon and ananas). While taking the long routes between national parks you can watch the villages, markets and people along the road.

We went to a mine site visit and then on a safari to Serengeti and the Crater. Obadia also took me for an early morning run around the town which was incredible!

About: Kenya
Pletntiful Wildlife
Overall rating
5/5

We visited only Masai Mara for 2 days of game drives (1 evening +1 full day), 3 people in a private tour in a Land Cruiser. Saw a lot of elephants, giraffes, lions 3 times, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, hundreds of wildebeest, etc. Very good wildlife viewing. There was quite a few other cars, but could still see the animals well. All in all, very satisfied.

About: Kenya
Fantastic safari destination which should be more welcoming at the airport and SGR train station
Overall rating
4/5

Taita Hills Conservancy is exceptionally well maintained and has a low density of safari vehicles. Travelling by train in 1st Class was very comfortable but I wish we had been informed in advance of the extensive list of prohibited items, which includes Duty Free, and the corrupt security guards that look for bribes. Nairobi is great for shopping, but Kenya does not offer VAT Refund for tourists; venturing outside the malls for a couple of specialty items was very stressful. The hotels we stayed in were excellent and had a large variety of food options.
