The most professional tourist company I have ever met!
5/5

Every staff I met from polecat were professional and lovely! They took care of me and my family from the start of our trip til the end. Our guide Agrey is definitely the best guide I have ever met! He is soooo knowledgeable and humorous that you can always trust him and you will never feel bored during safari!

Poor communication, contractual issues
1/5

As a board member of a non-profit organization and a recent donor who secured a Wild African Safaris package through a charitable auction, I feel compelled to document the challenges we have encountered with Run Wild African Safaris.

We purchased a Run Wild African Safari package through the auction, looking forward to this trip as my third journey to Africa, albeit with a new tour company.

Approximately nine months before our trip (January 2024), we reached out to Run Wild African Safaris to finalize our booking. After paying several thousand dollars in unexpected additional fees, we signed the contract and secured our reservation.

Since then, we have faced considerable difficulties with communication from Run Wild. They have been unresponsive, failing to provide itinerary details promptly, not returning phone calls, and taking between one to two weeks to respond to emails.

Two months before our scheduled departure (Summer 2024), my partner was diagnosed with a medical condition that complicated our travel plans. I contacted Run Wild to explore options for transferring the reservation or adjusting the travel dates. I was informed that transferring the reservation would incur a fee of $1,750, and changing the dates would cost $4,800. Run Wild did not ask for any information about the medical condition.

Before committing to these additional expenses, I requested the itinerary to make an informed decision. It was only then that I discovered Run Wild had canceled our booking, citing a "failure to report a pre-existing medical condition" clause in the contract. This condition was newly diagnosed and did not exist at the time of our initial contract.

This cancellation was not communicated to us until we specifically requested the itinerary. When we inquired about the itinerary and other details, Run Wild requested confirmation of our need for a change. After informing them that we could not confirm, they notified us that the booking had already been canceled. If we had not followed up, we might have been left without a reservation or explanation while in Southern Africa.

Run Wild subsequently indicated that reinstating our booking would require disclosing the medical condition in the contract. However, they did not provide a new contract or facilitate the exchange of information, nor did they supply any itinerary details.

Given these experiences, it will be difficult for us to trust this company with future travel arrangements to Africa. Such issues can adversely affect donor perceptions and impact the reputation and effectiveness of non-profit organizations. We will continue to seek resolution through appropriate channels and share any relevant findings to assist others who may encounter similar difficulties.

Communication was clear and the whole trip was well organized. Our guide Khalifa went above and beyond to get us as close as possible to all the animals that roam Maasai Mara. Staff at the camp was also excellent. Food was basic but good. Highly recommend!

Unforgettable Safari with Jhon!!
4/5

We did our 7gg-Safari through Masai Mara/Lake Nakuru/Amboseli/Tsavo East. We were able to watch so many animals including the big five more than once! But start from the begging:
- we fit our personalized private jeep tour itinerary with Minneh by mail and she was very kind. Her price is very competitive (in a budget accommodation).
- the driver was waiting for at the airport at Nairobi and he dropped off in Watamu
- we had some problems the first day due to the amount when because given that the currency she tried to get high the agreed price but after saveral negotiations we agreed the price and payment method (she tried to not accept small banknotes) .
- budget accommodation is a good wild status for living this amazing experience but to be honest, in my opinion, Mara Lenchada Camp in Maasai Mara is to the limit of what may be acceptable (not recommended!) nice experience instead in Nyati Safari Camp at Amboseli (Jocky Tours changed our accommodation at last minute for this cheaper place with not refunding the difference price). Amazing experience at Buraha Zenoni in lake Nakuru (great hotel), and at Voi Safari Lodge in Tsavo East.
- least but not least, the driver: our Jhon, a great man with whom we have lived an unforgettable Safari! He's so much kind and funny; a man with a great experience and knowledge about Safari but also as a safe driver crossing the country (we ride more than 2k kms more or less). He always taked care of us and thanks to him we spotted all the animals, including the most rare ones (we saw leopards twice and rhynos!).

Thank Jhon and Hakuna Mat*t* 😂 (the * isn't an error, let you explain that to your driver).

Jambooooo!!

Reviews Greg Adventures
The safari was a great adventure and thanks to the good organization and the efforts of so many friendly employees of 'Greg' it was an unforgettable experience for us.
We enjoyed the enthusiasm and optimism of our driver and guide Machette and his love and respect for the animals and nature. It was a treat to ride in his jeep and receive a 'free massage'. Sometimes the older jeep let us down for a while, but we trusted Machette and everything turned out fine every time.
The friendly, calm chef 'Chief Furaha’ was a great combination with Machette. He prepared the most delicious dishes, breakfasts and picnics for us. A privilege to enjoy this.
At the airport we were welcomed enthusiastically by Emanuël and he showed us around Arusha. We were immediately struck by the friendliness of the people. Everyone helped each other, had real contact and laughed.
Villa Poa was an oasis in the hustle and bustle with its beautiful garden that was very well cared for. We enjoyed the lovely swing beds outside where we could read.
The food was delicious there too, the cook was friendly and helpful and Villa Poa was kept meticulously clean.

We really liked that we could speak English with all the employees because we wanted to know so much. This was a completely different world for us than Europe.

It was also very important that we had good email contact with 'Greg Adventures' from the Netherlands. Especially during Corona times when it couldn't go ahead. The contact gave us confidence that everything would go well with the reservation.
This adventure was worth waiting 5 years for.
We would like to thank everyone
