service is good but schedule needs to be improved to save some time on the way.
4/5

The driver is easy to communicate n experienced. The director of the Kenya Walking is helpful if any problems. But our schedule needs to be improved to save some time on the way.

Traveled with then 6 times now, each time brilliant as they designed the safari around me
5/5

Trust and delivery are what it is about. I've used Imagine Africa 6 times now and they have always delivered what they offered. No safari company can promise the perfect animal viewings but they can point you in the right direction. So, having requested bespoke experiences we have been delighted by the quality of service, right from the initial discussion and planning to the on the ground transfers and the actual lodges. We've traveled to Namibia, Zambia and Tanzania with them and see the most amazing things in some of the best locations. Each time we have agreed the criteria and they have given us options, the advice has been realistic and practical. So if you want a "designed for you" itinerary that is safe for a sole female or a couple this is a company that delivers every time.

About: Tanzania
A little disappointing.
Overall rating
3/5

The weather was very nice. Wildlife not as abundant as I expected but then it was the dry season. MY accommodations were NOT what I paid to have---I paid for a mid-range tented lodge and ended up in a tent on the ground and shorted one day stay in the Serengeti. MY agent took the money I paid (in advance) and did not make any hotel arrangements, no one day hike on Kilimanjaro nor did he provide any arrangements for the 2 day stay in Kenya for Amboseli National Park or the Park fees in Tanzania National Parks (3). This is at least $1,000 loss and time wasted. I actually had to spend a day filing a police report on [email protected] Nagol. This site needs to be shut down to prevent this scum from hurting other travelers and ruining the safari business in Tanzania. Most of the people were extremely nice in trying to help sort all of this out for me and make sure I saw what I came to see. I was in a group of 6 but it was a little stressful as the guide/driver never knew what to do with me. Please DO NOT advertise for this site. He is a crook

Scammers- AVOID
1/5

We booked a car through Bencias office in Nairobi with Kennedy. The car was to take us from Nairobi to Amboseli and then to Emhali for a first class bus to Mombasa.
The car showed up on time in Nairobi and the ride to Amboseli was fine. We had to pay the driver 4000 Ksh to stay in the area for four days and then take us to the bus.
The day the driver was to appear he never did. A call to Ken and another car showed up about two hours later. These guys were locals in Amboseli and drive us to Emhali where we were supposed to get on the "First Class Bus". Of course when we got there they immediately started in on us about how Ken had ripped us off, was not paying them and the bus would not stop in Emhali. We awaited about two hours for the bus all the while listening to them tell us over and over how there was no bus. It was getting late and rather than have to spend the night in a very small and very scary town we agreed to let them drive us to Mtito which was about 90 minutes away at a cost of 9000Ksh. There was a local bus in Mtitto that took us to Mombasa at a cost of 1000 Ksh even though we had already paid Ken 7000 Ksh for a "First Class bus". We had no choice so went. We later found out the same bus stopped in Emhali earlier while we were arguing with the drivers
When we got back to Nairobi we visited Ken at the office and demanded a refund. We went back and forth and he agreed to a partial refund. If you have been keeping up we spent 4000 Ksh to keep the driver around, 7000 Ksh for the bus tickets we didn't use, 9000 Ksh to go to a different town and 2000 for the bus tickets we did use a total of 22,000 Ksh. We got a refund of 7000 Ksh.
These guys are scammers. They seem very nice but in the end they don't deliver.

I would not use this company again
2/5

I did not enjoy my safari with this company. The schedule they give you is not the actual schedule you will do. Once they have your money and you are actually on safari, your driver will tell you that the schedule the company gives you doesn’t actually matter. Most days, I would spend about 2 hours actually doing safari stuff (though some days would be more). The rest of the day would typically be spent in a cramped van driving to pick up new passengers. The drivers don’t actually work for the company, they are more like free-lance drivers that take people from different companies. The drivers want to get the most people so they can get more money. So you will drive to place 1, then to place 2, and then back to place 1 to pick up more people. Thus, you spend a lot of time driving the same highways (not on safari) to get more people. When I emailed and complained about this, they replied by stating, “Kindly have the spirit of adventure.” Driving back and forth on the same road in a cramped van is not the “spirit of adventure” I envisioned for my safari. I would use another company, or I would consider just heading to Nairobi and negotiating a much better price there. If I would have done that, I would have saved a ton of money and probably had a better experience.

Chimp and gorilla tracking in Uganda
5/5

What an experience! Uganda is beautiful and we certainly had a great time! Our tour guide and driver, Musa, was knowledgeable, experienced, friendly and eager to tell us about his country. We were most satisfied with his guidance.
We will definitely return to the area probably to do something similar in Tanzania and the parts of Uganda that we missed out on.

I have recommended Matoke to many friends and hopefully they too can have the same experiences that we had. Thank you to Matoke tours for a well planned and run safari trip, the chimp and gorilla experience was phenomenal. The leopard crossing the road in front of our vehicle just outside of the Queen Elizabeth National park was an added bonus.

I came to Know Catherine online where we arranged everything then I met here personally at Nairobi airport where she was waiting me despite my late flight .
She arranged 4 days Safari ( Masai Mara and lake Nakuru ) and later I extended it one day more as I found it wonderful experience .
Friendly staff and reasonable prices that will fit all the levels .
Was able to spot the all big five due to the so talented driver/guide ( plus some luck )
I strongly recommend it if you want a real African experience with very honest and professional team

Best guide, best tour, seen so many animals just in 2 days, Moses knows just where to be!
5/5

The tour has just been amazing, could not been better. Galvin was our cook and together with Moses we were in the best company. Not only because Moses knows his ways in the national parcs as no other, bit they are so nice people to be with. Moses knows just about everything we asked about Moremi and the animals and both are so easy to talk to. We had amazing conversations but even more important, we laughed all the time. Besides that, Galvin is a great cook! Would recommend them to everyone. Thinking about going back next year and will definitely book a tour again with Moses. Best time guaranteed!
