Excellence is what they strive for
5/5

Their sellection of routes, hotel/safari lodges, and travel planning was so good and well thought. They are a company that mind their reputation and therefore are accountable and transparent in dealing with their clinents and other stake holders in the industry. They are professional in all their dealings and execution of their duties. Working for them as a freelance guide was the best ever and I wish other companies could learn from them. It was such fun being in the field on their safari.

Bloody Marvellous
5/5

This is what memories are made of. My biggest fear is arriving and A- no transport B- no bookings and C- my little girls says I'm BOARD. Well safe to say that my worries were a waste of time and energy. Arriving at Hoedspruit airport we were greeted with huge smiles and warm hugs. Felt like long lost friends. In the comfy vehicle there were snacks and juice ready just for us. Not once in the 8days did I hear I'm bored. not from my 8 year old princess of my hubby. Barney kept my hubby entertained with interesting facts and long walks and Venishia kept Alexa busy while I soaked up the African sun and read a brilliant book. that is between the places of interest and the amazing bush drives. Not only can they tell you something interesting about the animal, birds and their different calls and the trees. WOW are there a lot of trees (and yes had a quick check in the book to make sure Barney did not have us on) the knowledge. Hearing about all the different things is not something you can pick up from reading or watching all the animal shows. These two really know what they are doing. From the suppers to brunch and a million snacks in between we rolled home.
Thank you for the amazing trip we will definitely be back next year. Did I mention that it took five minutes to email them our booking request, two minutes later a reply with suggestions and a quick EFT and we on our way

A tour operator par excellence with personal, friendly and efficient service at a reasonable rate
5/5

Makasa Tanzanian Safaris arranged a wonderful 8-day tour for our group of six seniors from South Africa. The tour with a competent, knowledgeable and humorous tour guide, Humphrey, took us through Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro and was an absolute dream-come-true for us all. Everything ran smoothly and the accommodation in the various camps/lodges was excellent. We saw a large spectrum of wild life, birds, trees and wonderful landscapes, including part of the “migration”, which we also experienced at first hand in the Tenzan Tented Camp just outside the Ikoma gate of Serengeti. By the way, this was the camp and accommodation we all enjoyed most. A real experience in the bush, which we South Africans love so much. The management and staff in all camps made us feel most welcome and at home.

Amazingly Beautiful and Wild Landscape

Tsavo West was the last stop on our 12 day honeymoon safari through Kenya with Natural Tours and Safaris. We had first visited Samburu, Mt. Kenya, Aberdares, Mara, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru and Amboseli. Despite having been to so many amazing locations, we found Tsavo to be amazingly beautiful and unique. The landscape is a striking mix of rocky hills, greenery, black volcanic lava flows and red dirt that makes for some spectacular scenery. It also felt like the most 'wild' of the parks. We lodged at Rhino Valley which was very comfortable, set in a beautiful location and had some of the best food of our trip. There seemed to be a good chance of seeing leopards there (we saw 2), and the 'red' elephants are also quite cool. The one downside was that because it's so wild, hilly and brushy, wildlife can be harder to spot and so we went on a number of drives where we didn't see too much. Despite that, I still think Tsavo West is well worth the trip - just not if it's your only chance to see wildlife.

Very good service for affordable price
5/5

We have been satisfied and now we can't forget Tanzania and its National Parks. The safari was amazing and we saw a lot of animals. We saw a lot of lions in Serengeti and Ngorongoro, and also leopard and cheetah in Serengeti. We have also visited Arusha park (it's nice and good starting point) and Tarangire (a lot of elephants!!).
We were only 2 in the jeep, our guide David was friendly and amazing spotting animals in a distance.
Some roads are bumping and driving to Serengeti is tough, but it's a great experience.
We have really enjoyed our time in Tanzania.

Based in Tanzania, Makasa is an excellent choice to organise a trip of a lifetime
5/5

Overall, we have thoroughly enjoyed our trips with Makasa, and this is reflected in the fact that we have repeatedly used them (3 times in 2 years) and consistently recommended them to family and friends. Over the course of our trips, we have found their guides knowledgeable (both in animals and in birds) and eager to show us the beauty of the bush. They have been before the crack of dawn and enthusiastically driven us around for the full day, only getting back at dusk.

There is a real "family feel" about Makasa, where you feel that the owners personally attend to the details of your trip and make it their mission to make sure that your trip is a once in a lifetime experience. Whether it's a camping safari or more luxurious travel, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Makasa to organize it for you.

Personalised, respectful safari
5/5

Makasa has their offices in Tanzania, run by a Tanzanian/German and Dutch couple. As there we no other intermediate companies involved the communcation went smooth and well organised and we were able to organise a safari to our personal wishes. The safari jeep was excellent, as was the driver/guide. His knowledge was good, with respect for nature and people. We slowly build up our safari (total 12 days), ending for a couple of days in the Serengeti, and it was magnificent. Whenever we needed Makasa, they were there to help. We strongly recommend.

Fantastic experience with 5* service
5/5

Went for the Kilimanjaro expedition with Makasa. The best choice we could have made. Great guides who actually monitor your (health)situation carefully and do everything possible to help enhance your chances to make it to the summit. As comfortably as possible. And so we did. What a fantastic experience. Even breaking my leg after a mis step on the way back hasn't spoiled the memory. Selma en Ngomi made sure I got down safely and took great care of everything in hospital etc.
If you consider climbing the Kili, do it with Makasa and you will have the best chance of actually getting there and enjoying the trip to the full!
