The most amazing experience of my life so far
Overall rating
5/5

It was wonderful to see the abundant wild life thriving in their natural environment unworried by the presence of humans. The weather was fabulous and our safari guide was excellent, very committed and seemed to relish her job as a privilege. the lodge we stayed at was very comfortable and the staff welcoming, and we had fresh cooked meals every day. However the wild life was the highlight of our visit.

High quality wildlife viewing, high quality accommodation, definitely not crowded, in fact it felt like we almost had the place to ourselves. Not overly scenic, but then we were there in the dry season, it would have looked very different in the wet season

Brilliant Trip - unforgettable.
4/5

The whole experience was good. We had numerous emails before the trip, as we had specific needs & requests. We were going to view an eclipse & also meet up halfway through the trip with a family with small children, and so had many questions & stipulations. Innocent answered all our queries promptly & fully, changed itineraries & customised bits of the holiday to suit us; & all done in very friendly manner. During the holiday itself we stayed in lovely hotels, had good food, & undertook excellent safaris. The guides were friendly, helpful & knowledgeable; we are bird watchers - some guides are better on birds than others, so ask beforehand. We went gorilla trekking, & safari in a number of national parks, & though we didn't see lions & leopards, the whole experience was amazing, & exceeded my expectations.

Professional great service!
5/5

I had the most amazing African experience! 3 weeks of travel in 4 countries with 2 safaris and a wedding in Zanzibar! Ubuntu arranged the safaris and all internal flights. Even when there were the usual African challenges Ubuntu went above and beyond to help and keep me informed as to what to expect. Communication was always excellent, in planning, booking and giving suggestions, even during my travel with the major time difference they were still on top of my challenges. Ubuntu were recommended to me by a friend and I would highly recommend them to any one wanting to book an African holiday! Our 7 day tour in Tanzania was exceptional and our guide went out of his way to give us the different experiences we were looking for, including Massi village and local markets and eating in local establishments. Thanks Ubuntu!

Great and well-planned safari to Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara
5/5

Our trip with Benson Safari was very succesful. Benson was super helpful in the planning proces and quick and concise in our email correspondence prior to the trip. We felt that Benson was honest and trustworthy to do business with.

The trip itself went according to plan, and we had a lovely experience in both parks with no unpleasant surprises. Our only "complaint" was the very poor breakfast at our overnight accommodation – we had chosen the budget option, and the rooms were absolutely acceptable, but the breakfast was sub par.

In all other regards, a great trip with Benson Safari – I'd recommend Benson to anyone looking for a reliable safari service in Tanzania in the future.

A beautiful animal, bird or view round every corner.

I have been to quite a few locations round the world in pursuit of my hobby of wild-life photography. Nowhere else is the abundance of wild-life so available. The 'big five' are wonderful to see but so is the profusion of smaller things - birds, reptiles, butterflies etc. and I came away with a great portfolio of photographs.
I had great help from my guides, both English for photography and South African for bushcraft. The standard of accommodation was good at the various camps we stayed at and most notable was the friendliness and helpfulness of the camp staff everywhere. I'll be back as soon as I can!

Ngorongoro crater is a truly special and unique place. I arrived at Ngorongoro close to sunset, pitched the tent and rested for the exciting day to come.

On waking up early the next morning, the whole place was covered in fog. The slow descend from the 2100m peak to the bottom set the pace followed by an increase in my heart beat from emotions and expectations. As the 4WD went down and the mist slowly faded away, a feeling of time travel to the past filled the atmosphere.

Surprisingly, the first animals spotted were cows, taken care by Maasai farmers. As explained by our guide, they manage to live in harmony with the predators in the crater (apparently the Maasai rub the bodies of the cattle with a smelly protective herb in order to keep lions away.) What a surprise to witness cows and wild predators living so close to each other.

As the vehicle drove along the caldera roads, wildlife popped up like popcorns. In fact, this place has one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa.

Roaming along we came across ostriches, buffalos, wildebeests, zebras, elephants and many different birds. These are cool animals for first time safaris but the interesting game was yet to come.

Lions were resting on the road and along the side of the road like true kings. Probably their last moments in the open before going away to rest for the day.

Lions are nocturnal and sleep up to 20 hours a day. One can tell they are nocturnal because the area below their eyes is white, just like leopards, to reflect moonlight. Cheetahs, on the other hand, hunt during the day and have black stripes to aid their vision.

We saw a lioness guiding her 4 cubs to safety in the tall grass before leaving for a hunt. It was impossible to tell where the cubs were just moments after their mother left them. We didn't follow the hunt and continued roaming in this nostalgic and amazing reserve until after lunch.

A truly magical time travelling experience, the ancient caldera definitely lives up to its name.

A must see.

Great Value for Money
4/5

I booked my tour at quite late notice and wild dogs were great with the booking and always available for answering questions. I did the 7 day south and 7 day northern tour. Camping was great fun, there was lots of excursions and sites included in both trips. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and made the trip run smoothly. One of the groups was a size of 8 and the other a size of 14. 8 was a perfect size, but 14 felt too large. I would definitely recommend them to independent travellers, who want to explore Namibia.
