Safari Infinity - simply the BEST!
5/5

This trip was a year in the making.

At first, it seemed like such a daunting undertaking. I carefully studied Trip Advisor reviews for tour operators who could organize our trip to Kenya and Tanzania, eventually sending out enquiries to eight different tour operators. I methodically whittled them down. Some did not want to customize something for me. Some were trying to push their own properties on me. Some gave really inflated quotes. Some took over a week to get back to me. Some did not bother to even reply.

And then there was Safari Infinity.

From the outset, Lucia Lee-Kombe put my mind completely at ease. She responded to each email immediately, sometimes within just a few minutes, which is impressive considering the nine-hour time difference between Tanzania and my home in Canada. I lost count how many changes I made to our itinerary yet Lucia’s professionalism and patience never wavered. She offered excellent suggestions on accommodations, flights and routings and I had complete confidence that when doing so, she had my best interest at heart.

From the moment we touched ground in Africa, everything was smooth sailing. We spent six nights in Kenya and eight nights doing the Northern Circuit in Tanzania. Safari Infinity took exceptionally good care of us. Nothing was overlooked. While still somewhat new compared to some other companies out there, other tour operators should stand up and take notice. Safari Infinity is what many other tour operators can only hope to be. Customer service is exceptional. They are detail-oriented. They do what they tell you they will do. The employees are both professional and infectiously personable. With this formula, they can’t help but succeed.

My mom and I met Safari Infinity co-founders Simon (Sam) and Lucia in Arusha before we flew out to the Serengeti. What a lovely couple! It was nice to put a face to the person I had been corresponding with for over a year. I felt like I was meeting long-lost friends. Lucia even arranged to have new memory cards for my camera, after I had contacted her from Kenya in a panic that my memory card had been corrupted. She saved the day. There were also some fun surprises and gifts along the way. I won’t give them away but they sure brought a smile to our faces; the little things do matter and it was such a nice touch.

I am sure that all of the safari guides working for Safari Infinity are excellent. As with all well-run companies, Safari Infinity’s extremely high level of customer service coupled with their attention to detail would ensure that all of its safari guides are at the top of their game (no pun intended). Excellence is the only option. Even so, I have to say that the heavens shone down upon us when my mother and I were fortunate enough to have Kelly as our safari guide. There’s excellence and then there’s uber-excellence in the form of our guide, Kelly.

Kelly’s understanding of nature and wildlife and the passion with which he talks about it is wonderfully intoxicating. Kelly’s innate ability to read a situation and be able to accurately predict what an animal was about to do showed that he is a truly gifted and learned safari guide. I think that Kelly knew what the animals were about to do even before the animals themselves knew! He is the animal whisperer of the Serengeti. While other companies’ guides relied heavily on the use of their radios to ask others where game could be found, Kelly’s expertise enabled us to have exclusive viewings on so many occasions, we lost count.

All of this coupled with an inquisitive mind, a welcoming smile and a great sense of fun made Kelly the perfect safari companion for my mom and me. We had great conversations. We laughed so hard we cried. Kelly taught us patience which allowed us to get so much more out of the experience. It wasn’t just about getting photos of animals and checking them off our list; it was learning about their behaviour and understanding their “story”, so that when we finally returned home, those photos would have so much more meaning. If you have Kelly as your safari guide, you are guaranteed to have an amazing time.

Going on safari is a life-changing experience, and I am so appreciative to all the people at Safari Infinity for flawlessly executing my dream. I highly recommend using Safari Infinity as your tour operator. With them you are guaranteed a wonderful experience. Asante sana, Safari Infinity!

3 day safari; Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Manyara
5/5

The team at Focus in Africa were very accommodating. They picked me up from Kilimanjaro airport and transferred me to Arusha. I wanted my first day in Tanzania to be relaxed and the company was very happy to delay my safari departure to allow me to rest in Arusha before starting the safari. I told the company i was happy to go on safari as part of a group, but when they didn't have anyone else booked to go on my departure date they sent me off on my own with the guide; my own private safari for the same price! I imagine a lot of other companies might try and delay the departure date to get more people going but i was very impressed with Focus in Africa providing this service.

Nelson (company owner) was also very accommodating with my itinerary. He told me that i was more likely to see animals in the Tarangire national park than in Arusha national park at this time of year, so cut Arusha and sent me to Tarangire for no additional cost.

My guide (Kom) was very knowledgeable and a very safe driver as well. I will definitely be recommending Focus in Africa to people i meet on my travels.

Seamless Safari Experience with Wild Wings
5/5

This was our first visit to South Africa and first safari. My wife and I had some anxiety on how to arrange transfers, lodging, and game hunts. Luckily, we sent an inquiry to Wild Wings, and we knew from their informative response that we'd picked a winner right away. Our advisor, Madi, patiently answered our numerous questions and laid out all the details for us, including what to bring, cost, what to expect, and other important details and suggestions. From touch down at the Hoedspruit Airport to take off, we were taken care of by Wild Wings Safari. The transfer was waiting for us and shuttled us to the Gomo Gomo Game Lodge, giving us lots of information and details along the way. We even saw two giraffes right by the road along the way! Once at the lodge, we couldn't have been happier with our accomodations; meals; game drives; trackers, guides, and staff at the lodge. Ross and Dominic, our ranger and tracker, worked so hard to make sure we got great sightings each day. The food was excellent and prices for drinks were reasonable. With Wild Wings and Gomo Gomo Game Lodge, there were no surprises and everything went smoothly throughout our stay. We were picked up on our last day and sadly left our great experience. We highly recommend Wild Wing Safaris and the Gomo Gomo Game Lodge!

A fantastic experience with quality service
5/5

We (party of 6) decided to book our trip 'the best of the elephant coast & drakensbergen' with Tailormade Safaris and had a truly wonderful experience. Everything was well-planned and organised and the service was exceptional. Geert/Nick and Freya really delivered on their promise of giving us a one of a kind experience, combining amazing gamedrives, great food (Tailormade Safaris' Nicholaas really knows how to braai!) and secluded lodges with breathtaking views. We will without a doubt book another Tailormade Safari. Geert/Nick, Freya, Nicholaas; thank you for the best trip i've ever had!

Wonderful, fun and fully immersed in the Tanzanian national parks
5/5

We did a safari with Aardvark expeditions in September 2014 and it was all we expected and more. We chose to do 5 days, just the two of us, and toured the Tarangire, Serengeti and Nogorongoro Crater. The whole safari was organised by Philemon, who took great care of my partner and I on our arrival and departure days in Arusha. He was also very prompt when answering the many questions I had prior to our trip. On our arrival, he made sure we were well catered for at our lodge and even took us to an amazing African restaurant, where we felt immersed in the Tanzanian culture, far away from the many tourists in Arusha.
Godefrey (driver) and Moses (cook) formed a fantastic team and were eager to make our safari a memorable experience. And it was definitely memorable. We saw all the big 5! Yes, there’s a bit of luck involved but on a couple of occasions Godefrey spotted animals from miles away and drove us to them. The most amazing example was when he spotted a Rhino in the Ngorongoro Crater (only 15 left in the entire park!) on our last day. You definitely needed sharp eyes to see it. We also saw plenty of zebras, gazelles, elephants, giraffes, lions, lionesses, cubs etc. and had quite a few sightings of leopards and cheetahs. Moses was a fantastic cook, making much needed warm soup when the weather was getting chilly in the evening and the most delicious one was his cucumber soup. His pancakes were also really delicious. Both Moses and Godefrey chose a great campsite in the Seronera area of the Serengeti. It was very quiet, laid back and there was a burrow of Banded Mongoose nearby, which meant that we had the most incredible sighting of a pack of 20 leaving it together in the morning. It was wonderful to witness wildlife this close-up as soon as waking up. We definitely had great fun during our five days with them, felt safe and even learnt a few words of Swahili.
I hardly recommend Aardvark expeditions, especially if you want to get a true feel for the parks. We chose to do 5 days, including 2.5 in the Serengeti and I highly recommend this circuit too. 5 days is perfect to take the time to see the animals. Doing just 3 parks and staying at least 2 days in the Serengeti is best as we never felt like we were rushing from one park to the next.
