Amazingly thoughtful and there for us 100%
Quite honestly, I was a little hesitant to book with Dancing Zebra because I had trouble finding online reviews, but I couldn't be happier that I booked our honeymoon through them.
From the very beginning, Jessica was flexible with our budget and needs and gave us an excellent recommendation for a 6-night safari. Every aspect and every quesiton was thoroughly covered by both Jessica and Abdullie. They gave us a full breakdown of what to expect each day from both the driver/tour and the accommodations through both an online portal and a customized pamplet that gave tips on everything from the details of the accommodations to tipping customs to even what to pack for the trip.
We actually ran into a problem with a self-booked flight heading into the safari--the flight had been cancelled without any notification to me or my husband. I contacted Dancing Zebra to let them know, and Abdullie was all over it, even though the flight had not been part of the itinerary that Dancing Zebra had covered. He was able to get in touch with the airline that cancelled and helped to ensure that I was booked on another airline to get to Kilimanjaro Airport to be in time for the start of our safari.
While our guide, Peter, was amazing and knowledgeable throughout the entire trip, the most enjoyable part of our trip was our stay at the Nasikia Naona Moru camp in southern Serengeti. My husband and I were thrilled with how luxurious the tent was (the epitome of "glamping"), but what really made the stay was the staff. They were so kind and thoughtful--I had the flu throughout the entire stay and they made sure I had enough fresh ginger tea to cure an entire family with the flu. The last night we were there, they made us a special dinner outside, underneath the stars. The staff sang and danced us a farewell song and we had such a wonderful time!!!
I cannot thank Dancing Zebra enough for the amazing honeymoon that we had.

Everything was well arranged and we were in best hands!
We had a very good time and were really happy with our guides. Even after climbing Kilimanjaro we have still contact with William and Rashid from Tansania. So we just can highly recommend this company!
Fraudulent!
I was close to giving this company a Four Star rating but have to give it One Star. Cost me an additional $4,800! I have to determine is Felix is dishonest but can tell you that I have not received $4,800.00 in over paid funds. Upon arriving to Nairobi I was told that my wired funds had not yet been received. I had a confirmation but was told that Equity Banks LTD was holding funds due to the election issues that were happening in Kenya at that time. In order to continue I had to pay cash for the trip. Once the funds were received and released Felix would refund the amount to me. Once the elections had been resolved my funds would be released and Sardius Tours would refund me. Well the elections were resolved about 30 days later in October. It is now the end of January and I have to be refunded. The owner (Felix) continues to telling me to wait a couple of more weeks for good news. I have attempted to contact the Bank and the Department of Tourism and have yet to hear back. I will continue this fight but please be warned. Stay as far away from Sardius Tours as possible! Don't give them your money! Fund a more reputable Tour agency!

Wonderful safari that delivered everything that was promised!
We had a wonderful time on safari. Our driver, Nick, was a great driver, a knowledgeable tour guide, and fun to have on the safari with us. He was especially patient when we made him stop for every single animal we saw on our first safari drive ... not knowing how MANY animals we would see as the days progressed. We saw the big 5, and many more animals. On two occasions, we were offered the option to spend the whole day on safari drives, instead of just going for a few hours. This allowed us to get deeper into the parks and see lots of animals. We did the 9 day Hakuna Matata tour. The only thing that we may have done differently is to skip the Lake Begoria resort and park. We had just seen all the flamingos at Lake Nakuru so we would not have needed to do the long bumpy ride to see them again. Also, we enjoyed all the resorts, but Lake Begoria was the one that we enjoyed the least.
Make sure if you bring cash for payment or souvenirs, that the bills are dated after 2000 or they will not be accepted.
The airport made us ship in our luggage (not allowed in carryons) all the wooden souvenirs. So make sure they are packed well. Also, if you are from colder parts of the US, you may not need to bring warm coats etc. The mornings were in the 60's (F). I wish I had packed less. A sweater or sweatshirt was nice to have though.

A once in a lifetime experience... provided by Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris Ltd
Everything about this company is about providing clients a unique experience to showcase all that Kenya has to offer. Booking the trip was simple, questions were answered in a timely manner and overall my experience was first class all the way.
Each place that we stayed at offered amazing care and customer service. All staff focused on making our trip enjoyable, but more important we felt as if this was very much a customised and personalised experience.
Our guide was amazing. He took time to show us unique aspects of Kenya, including people, places and animals as we travelled from Nairobi through to the Masai Mara and answered questions as we experienced this journey.
I can't thank Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris Ltd enough for providing me the trip of a life time. I sincerely appreciate each of you involved and hope one day our paths cross again...thank you once again for EVERYTHING!!!

Great planning, mediocre execution
We booked a 4 day Serengeti honeymoon through Walter with a 5-day Zanzibar add-on. We chose to book with him because he was easy to communicate with and seemed extremely knowledgeable. The detailed trip descriptions customized for the season gave me confidence that he would arrange a great trip for us.
Altogether, Walter's recommendations for lodging were all spot on. All the accommodation he recommended were truly outstanding.
Reasons for the 3-star review:
1) My most serious complaint was our guide named Anderson. While he was a safe driver, always punctual, and seemed very competent at finding game we had an unbelievably hard time communicating with him and that really put a damper on the trip for us. To give you some background, I have lived in the Middle East and Africa for extended periods of time so I would consider myself adept at speaking with non-native English speakers. However, both me and my wife found ourselves constantly frustrated. Anderson could not teach us much about the nature that we came to see nor could he answer our questions. To be honest, we would ask a question and usually get a completely off-the-wall answer as he didn't understand what we had asked. Eventually driving around gets boring if you don't know what you're really looking at with any depth! Other travelers and their guides we met along the way did not seem to have this issue.
2) There were some permit issues entering two of the parks, each one causing a 1-2 hour delay when we would have preferred to have been relaxing in the lodge. The driver tried to tell me it was the network, the park employees clarified it was poor preparations although didn't further elaborate. I ended up having to pay entrance fees to one park which I did get reimbursed for.
3) Our guide decided to go off the road in Serengeti to get closer to some lions. It was our first day and we had no idea that this wasn't allowed. Sure enough, the rangers came and we had to follow them back towards the airport (nearly an hour away in the wrong direction) for our driver to get a 'ticket.' About 5 minutes into this drive they stopped and motioned our driver out of the car. Next thing we knew our driver was asking us for money to bribe the rangers. I said I would not give him money. A few minutes later we were on our way without paying a fine. I have no idea what exactly was going on... I have no idea if this is a setup or common occurrence but it certainly left a bad taste in our mouth.
4) The airport transfer that Walter arranged for us in Zanzibar consisted of an hour of entrapped salesmanship. The transfer company he contracted was also a 'tour company' and spent the hour pushing countless tour options which we were not at all interested in. We both arrived with headaches.
Bottom line: I would trust Walter's planning again but I'd be weary of your guide. I honestly would go so far as to talk with your guide on the phone ahead to be sure you can communicate. Don't trust other's TripAdvisor notes mentioning guides because ours actually had a few decent comments!

Sarah got us all set up, my husband and 2 kids. They are well organized and have a personal touch.
First Safari, Tanuga was very knowledgeable. They gave us 100% we felt comfortable and they thought of everything. A safari with kids(3,5) not easy but we rather enjoyed ourselves.
