Trip of a lifetime!
Emmanuel and Dominique were amazing drivers/tour guides. They went above and beyond to find the big 5 animals and had the patience to wait for all our pictures. His driving was really good, we always felt safe and we didn’t have any hiccups.
We did 5 nights and all the hotels were very comfortable and the food was always good. Our favorite was Kontiki Lodge - we were quite impressed with the quality and privacy of the big tents (it even had a living room). Would highly recommend this trip to all my friends.

Amazing!
We are three couples who have extensively traveled the previous six years around the world usually using upscale travel services. Tanzania was a special destination for us and we didn't want to take any chances, so after a lot of research we chose Meijo Safaris to help us arrange a 6-day private luxury safari.
One word would perfectly describe our experience: AMAZING! The fascinating wildlife and breathtaking scenery found in the Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorogoro parks, was complemented with the expertise and kindness of our guide Michael who deliver an outstanding service…he knew every corner of the parks allowing us to have close encounters with every animal we had anticipated seeing. The lodging the agency booked for us was top notch. This positive review needs to be extended also to Marcelina who was incredibly responsive to all of our inquiries, worries, and requests, even before we left for Tanzania. Meijo exceeded all of our expectations, so if you enjoy traveling in style and comfort, choose this travel agency without hesitation—you won't regret it.

Join the best team to take you on a dream safari to Tanzania
First of all Tanzania Explorer with Sondre and team is just the best! Are you dreaming of Tanzania's endless savannas and beautiful beaches? Tanzania Explorer will make sure your dream comes true. With their enormous knowledge of Tanzania and strong customer focus they tailor the journey exactly to your choice, need and budget.
I met Sondre at the Travel Fair in Oslo in January 2023 and challenged him on where to go on safari in January/February and his answer was Tanzania and Ndutu, south Serengeti. The reason being that this is the time the huge migration of wildebeest and zebras arrives in Ndutu giving birth to their young. We added in the Ngorongoro Crater, for me a longtime dream to visit and we ended our journey with a relaxing week in Zanzibar. Discussing with Sondre I got so enthusiastic about visiting Tanzania again (this was my fourth time) that I invited four friends along. I believe every safari lover should experience the great savannas of East Africa at least once.
Our journey started at the Explorer Villa in Dar-es-Salaam. It is absolutely wonderful to spend some days relaxing and getting the long travel out of your body before going on safari. When in Dar-es-Salaam you need to visit the Robins Cruise island, Mbudya. You can hardly find a whiter beach, bluer water and better freshly grilled lobsters. At the Villa you will meet Veronica, Augostino, Annah, with her famous samosas, and the rest of the team that make the stay so special. Make sure you visit their recycling station – these guys do an incredible job in cleaning the beach for plastic.
Then the real fun begins – safari! We flew to Kilimanjaro where we met up with our guide, Joshua. You cannot find any better guide! His knowledge of the bush, his great personality and safe driving made him a joy to be around.
A highlight of our safari was driving down to the crater just as the sun was rising and the fog carpet lifting revealing the most beautiful male lion –I still get goosebumps thinking about this sight. And then, Ndutu, thousands and thousands of wildebeest and zebras with the lions, cheetahs and hyenas following. It was just amazing! I have never seen so many animals.
All the camps and lodges were excellent and a good mix of simple bush camps where we got really close to nature and more comfortable lodges with swimming pools where it was great to relax. Sondre goes out of his way to find what is right for you and spends a lot of time understanding your needs.
We finalized our trip to Tanzania at Zanzibar with it´s endless beaches and dramatic and diverse history. I fell in love with Zanzibar! We rented a villa, Uzuri Villa, so special to have our own place right on the beach. In Stone Town we stayed at the eccentric Emerson Spice. If you visit Stone Town make sure to eat on the rooftop restaurant with innovative swahili food and beautiful sunset.
Our visit to Tanzania was just all we could wish for and I can hardly wait to go back. I am already discussing with Sondre my next visit and I recommend you to do the same!
I wish the whole Tanzania Explorer team all the best – I will be back!

The agent to book a resort for guests
Overall, a 3-star experience with a 5-star cost.
• The toilet in the room doesn’t flush well.
• The bathroom light is white, which ruins the vibe. It should be yellow.
• One waiter doesn’t smile while serving. He also spilled red wine on the table without noticing it himself and couldn’t remember the dishes for a group of four. He’s not familiar with the drink list at all. A young waiter on a working holiday, who’s only been here for a week, knows it better than him.
• On a windy day, the waiters kept forgetting to close the door during dinner, even though two groups reminded them multiple times. This was awful and inconsiderate.
• The guide skipped the coffee on the morning safari without explanation. His hospitality changes when there are more white guests on the safari car, raising concerns about racism. Such differentiated treatment is completely unacceptable.
• The suggested tip is 450 ZAR for the guide and 450 ZAR for the villa staff per day, which guests are informed about upon arrival. This doesn’t feel right and isn’t a good practice for a luxury package. While tipping culture exists in the U.S. where employers often don’t pay a good base wage, when we’ve already spent tens of thousands of ZAR on a luxury package, the staff and guide should be paid well and shouldn’t expect tips.
It’s quite disappointing to find so many flaws every day when you’ve booked a luxury package.

Must Do Bucket List
Emmanuel and Dominique were great tour guides. They communicated schedule times and were flexible of our adjustments. We were able to just sit back and relax the whole trip as they took care of all logistics.
During the game drives, Emmanuel was an expert driver. He maneuvered the terrain safely and we had no incidents. He knew where all the animal spottings were each day, and we were able to see each of the Big 5 (and more)! Both were very patient as we took multiple photos/videos, and helped to accommodate many close-ups of the wildlife while still being considerate of other safari viewers. Both were also very knowledgeable in answering our wildlife questions.
They made our safari trip easy, safe, and would strongly recommend them!

Go ahead with your eyes closed.
Everything was wonderfully taken care of by the agency. From start to finish, everything was explained to us well, we were treated super well. Even if there was a problem, we could communicate via WhatsApp with the manager who answered us immediately. The price was correct compared to the quality, we chose the lodge option and we did not regret it at all. The safari was incredible, all the people we met too; Abdullah our driver, Rockey our guide and Mr T who drove us to the airport. All the others too who worked behind the scenes: the cooks, the drivers, the transporters etc. It was a dream come true.

Excellent
We had a nice experience at Ashnil Samburu Camp enjoyed searching for the animals and was able to see three of the big five , elephants , griaffe and cheetah. The staff at the hotel were friendly and the food was great. At Aberdares we spent the day at Ol perjeta and enjoyed watching two lions on a unsuccessful hurt of Zebras. Plenty of rhinos, giraffes and elephants. Seeing the chimpanzees and learning about them was very educationally. Visited Aberdare National park to view two falls Chania and Karuru falls which are beauty.
The tour guide ( Timothy) was patient, knowledgeable and on time.
Thanks Rita for organizing the trip.

Amazing and unforgettable experience
My friend Oana and I had the pleasure of traveling with Ronnie this summer on a trip through Uganda and Rwanda, and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Ronnie took care of every detail along the way. He was not only our driver but also felt like a travel companion, sharing fascinating insights about the local wildlife, culture and history that truly enriched our trip. He was attentive to our needs and made us feel comfortable and safe. Our itinerary was wonderful and very well planned. It's been a long time since I dreamed of getting to this part of the world and it's been amazing. Thank you, Exclusive African Safaris and Ronnie for many beautiful memories!
