A truly amazing safari to Kenya and Zanzibar, put together by your sensational Diederik!!
5/5

Diederik put together a tailor made Samburu, Mara and Zanzibar Safari ( 13 days) for us . The trip really captured the essence of safari in Kenya, in two different landscapes- Samburu and Mara. On arrival, we stayed at the Boma Hotel in Nairobi- a very comfortable oasis from the heat of Nairobi. Then we flew to Samburu, for 3 nights at Elephant Bedroom Camp. It was amazing to see elephants wander around the camp, and to see so much wildife in their natural habitat. The camp was very comfortable, with great food. We were also fortunate to have the services of Julius our guide.
We then flew to Mara for 3 nights at Ol Seki Hemingways Mara. Again great accommodation and food, and 2 great guides- Isaac and Agnes.
After week in Kenya we flew to Zanzibar for 5 nights- 1 night in Stone Town and 4 nights at The Z Hotel at Nungwi( on the beach). It was a very relaxing end to our safari- enjoying the clear waters of The Indian Ocean.
Diederik did an amazing job organising the trip- accommodation, tranfers and internal flights.. I would definitely recommend African Ubuntu Safaris!!!

Efficient, good value, varied, great customer service, first hand knowledge of Africa.
5/5

The safari tour was exactly what we had requested. Varied and excellent accommodation, wonderful wildlife, efficient, friendly guides who did their utmost to make sure we got the best experiences on our trip. Our small group Botswana/Zimbabwe tour was perfect. The vehicles used were comfortable. Our visit to the Impenetrable Forest in Uganda to see the gorillas was an absolutely amazing experience. The whole trip was great value, and the extra attention to detail, for example, being met by a South African member of Ubuntu at Johannesberg airport and being escorted to our hotel on the first night, and being met at Boma Guesthouse by Ubuntu’s Ugandan rep on landing in Entebbe made all the difference.

A huge thank you to Cuan McLaren at Ubuntu in Sydney for making it happen!

Really good tour in Kenya with All Time Safaris, love it!
5/5

All Time Safaris is a really good tour operator, they arrange your tour very well, and they know what you like and try their best to meet your request. Their arrangement is reasonable and flexible, everytime you have new request, they always be patient and give you good advise. The tour price they give is also reasonable and competitive.
I took my family in this tour, We were all satisified with our game drive in Kenya. The safari guide named Gideon, a experienced and nice safari guide. Gideon is a wordless person, but he knows what you like and try his best to find the animanls for you. Thanks to him, we have seen lots of animals in Kenya.
Overall, an unforgettable tour in Kenya, thanks to All Time Safaris gave us a excellent tour.

Review about South Luangwa National Park by Guillaume d'Autichamp
Overall rating
5/5

South Luangwa is Zambia's flaghsip park for so many good reasons :
Wildlife is extremely abundant and leopard sighting is probably the best in africa (not to mention the hippo density which at 25000 is the highest in the world)
We stayed at the very exclusive Mfue Lodge : everything was great here, except maybe the high number of visitors in the area: to avoid that we moved 86 km inside the Park in the Zungulila Bushcamp which has been our greatest safari experience so far (very exclusive bushcamp, amazing scenery, delicious food, very friendly staff, excellent guiding and hyenas laughing at night all around us): we saw a pack of 20 wild dogs and of course we had the traditionnal zambian sunset drink along the luangwa river !

Visitors numbers can seem high at the Mfue gate but as soon as you drive inside the park : wildlife is for yourself !!

Review about North Luangwa National Park by Guillaume d'Autichamp
Overall rating
5/5

North Luangwa is recommended for expert safari aficionados and for walking safaris especially !
We stayed 3 nights at the Mwaleshi camp along the Mwaleshi river

This was a great experience : we saw fewer animals than in the South park because we mostly made walking safaris: there a very few roads to drive in the park.
However the wildnerness experience was unparalleled : we tracked lion on foot and found them : at first a pride of 14 that were 100 meters close, and then a young lone male that rushed from the bush just 20 m ahead of us while roaring, we had great hippo encounters in the river (rafts of more than 100!). And of course as always in Zambia, guides were excellent, food was delicious and bush vibe was optimal

Not a destination for a first safari goer but very recoomended for those who want to experience animals encounters differently

Review about Kafue National Park by Guillaume d'Autichamp
Overall rating
5/5

We stayed 3 nights at the Mawimbi Bush cam and had the camp for ourselves and an extraorinary guide and staff.
This park is huge. We unfortunately missed the Busanga plains that were too far away but we just saw 2 other tourist cars in 2 days.
Our best wildlife highlights there: sable antelope, hartebeest, Leopard and bushpig
The diversisty of game species was great. Elephants were there but more skittish than in the Luangwa valley.

We really fell in love with Kafue which is still relatively unknown : time to enjoy it very soon.

About: Zambia
African safari as it should be
Overall rating
5/5

We visited Zambia for our Honeymoon in this October.
I decided to travel back here after an incredible first visit 5 years ago. We visited Kafue, both Luangwa Parks and of course livingstone and the falls: What a wonderful and rewarding experience !!
- wildlife viewing was superb : we just missed cheetah and rhino but saw 7 leaopards during our trips, lion, loads of hippos, Elephants, koudous impalas, pukus , zebras and buffaloes and encountered less common species such as sable antelope, hartebeest, a pack of 20 wild dogs (in south luangwa), bushpigs. Except near the Mfue gate we had the animals for ourselves!
Whats really liked in parks such as Kafue is that we had to really search game : find some clues (footprints), track them down and in the end...we were rewarded
- Safaris and guidings were excellent: our guide in North Luangwa was able to find lion footprints, we followed these footprints and we able to discover a lone male Lion that roares and jumped from a busm just 20m ahead of us! Moreover guides are friendly, very accessible and give great explanations. We mixed, game drives, night drives canoe and walking safaris.
- Accomodation was exclusive, rustic (made from natural materials) : we were 100% part of the wilderness
- Food was 100% hand cooked and really delicious

All in all what is so special with Zambia is that you do not feel the commercial aspect of the safari industry : you have excellent and dedicated guides for yourself (no tourist buses here), you feel the bush vibe (no tared roads, no fences), tourists densities are low (in Kafue we were alone in our camp) and some of the industry benefits are dedicated to local communities which is great

We absolutely recommend this marvellous country !!

Professional, helpful and very knowledgeable about South Africa and Africa.
4/5

African Ubuntu Safaris were able to put a trip together very quickly for my girlfriend and myself. We had done limited research as the trip came around very quickly for us. We were very happy with the initial discussion regarding our holiday with Cuan and his team. Cuan was able to guide us through our itinerary, suggest some changes, made some great suggestions and then made it all happen. A trip of a life time!
Even though several iterations to our itinerary were required Ubuntu Safaris were able to make it all happen in record time.

We loved our safari experience, it was 'real', no frills but connected us to the animals and land. An experience we will never forget.

I would definitely recommend Ubuntu Safaris and in fact already have.

Truly a "Gorillas in the Mist" tour!
5/5

Our trip to Rwanda and Uganda started off with a lot of excitement. This isn't your usual East Africa trip - after all we were going to trek through dense forest scouting for mountain Gorillas - the highlight of the trip. It lived up to every wild expectation we had minus Tarzan.

We started our travels in Kigali - Rwanda is a beautiful country, clean, and her people are friendly to a fault. It's a country that is shaking off its dark past of genocide. I wish them the very best! Do visit the Genocide Memorial - we all can learn a lot from that dark past.

Day 1 - Golden Monkeys at Virunga. Mild trek through bamboo forest to view these beautiful creatures very up close. Stop on the way when you see sugarcane and chew on it the old fashioned way.
Day 2 - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest - and trust me it IS!! It's about a 15 mile round trip to spend an hour with the Nkuringo family. For God's sake please don't ask if Gorilla's are "aggressive", "are they man-eaters" and the like. They are the most gentle beings I have seen. What a beautiful, tiring, beautiful, life-changing experience. There are 900, yes just 900 left in the wild!
Day 3 - Brief stop over at Kalinzu to spot Chimps (on the way to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We saw them right away, but they prefer to hang out waaay on top of the canopy. Still worthwhile.
Day 4 - Queen Elizabeth National Park - very large area, but not as prolific as the Maara. Evening boat tour down the Kazinga Channel was a dream. Spectacular. I recommend doing this twice in lieu of going inside the park.
Day 5 - Lake Mburo National Park. Rwakoko lodge is high up on a rocky hill - its a beautiful lodge. Night safari and next day morning bird walk were the highlights. We all wished we should have spent an extra day here. Watch out for baboons - these curious, naughty buggers will steal anything they can lay their hands on. One of them still has my wife-beater T-shirt!
Day 6 - Loooong drive to Jinja - the source of the Nile. To be honest the drive was very tiring - especially after the first 5 days where we spent a lot of time amongst nature. En route you can stop by the Equator and take those selfies!! Also don't hesitate to try the local banana hooch, or the sweet bananas themselves. Jinja is a busy, dusty town - go there if you are into white water rafting, or would like a quite kayak down the river. Very nice experience - but be prepared for a long drive.

Why Mowgli? Personalized touch, attention to a lot of detail. Sachin is very passionate about what he does and it shows. He'll go out of his way to make your experience a great one. Don't even hesitate. Ask and he will tailor a trip you will cherish.
