An Unforgettable Solo Adventure with Zanzi Trekking & Safari!
I had the time of my life with Zanzi Trekking and Safari! Traveling solo, I thought I’d be talking to giraffes for company, but the team made sure my trip was personalized, fun, and truly unforgettable. From start to finish, they were professional, friendly, and incredibly welcoming. They somehow managed to make me feel like part of their family while giving me the space to enjoy the adventure on my own terms.
Huge thanks to Honest, the incredible drivers, the knowledgeable guides, the amazing chefs, and Kennedy in Zanzibar for making this trip beyond special. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure I had the best experience possible.
If you’re planning a trip to Tanzania, look no further—Zanzi Trekking and Safari is the team you want by your side.

The best of southern Africa in 8 days
We participated in Compass Odyssey's 8-day Kruger-Zambezi-Chobe safari in August 2024; I'm not sure there's any other tour that takes in as many highlights of southern Africa in this span of time. I can't recommend it enough.
We began our journey in Cape Town and flew to Blyde River Canyon. This was an addition to the standard itinerary, but worth the extra day as the views are stunning. The next day we transferred to Senalala Safari Lodge near Kruger, which was the highlight of the trip. It's a beautiful, uncrowded place with excellent food served on the terrace every day, plus a watering hole just outside the fence where you can watch animals come and go. The game drives were phenomenal--we saw plenty of animals, but the deep knowledge of Senalala's guides made them extra special. I've been on safaris before but have never had a guide with such extensive knowledge of the natural world.
After three days in Senalala, we flew to Victoria Falls for two days. The Compass... Read more Odyssey includes a tour of the falls, which do not disappoint. We also highly recommend a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River; you can see hippos, crocs, and elephants hanging out in the water or on the banks, and hear the roar of the falls from a half-mile away. The last couple days we spent in Botswana, in Chobe National Park, where you can do both game drives and boat safaris--we recommend doing both! This place is wonderful because of the dense elephant population; you see them practically every time you turn around.
Overall, Compass Odyssey's tour is a great way to see the highlights of southern Africa in four countries (South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana), even if you have limited time. We packed in a lot, but the tour never felt rushed--the itinerary builds in lots of time for relaxing at the beautiful lodges. If you're looking to make the most of your time in southern Africa, this tour is the right choice.

Great experience
My wife and I had a great time with Escape to Adventure Safari. We really enjoyed our booked activities: Chobe day trip, Boma dinner, Symunye show, Village tour. All transfers also went really well, comfortable and always on time.
Kuda and Stuart followed us throughout our 3 days in VicFalls, making our experience very enjoyable and smooth. Communicating with them was also simple. They are friendly and experienced guys who took care of us during those days. Thank you!!

Fast and efficient responses, well organised
Morningstar helped organise our first safari and we enjoyed all of it. The guides were great, very well organised and the lodges were absolutely stunning beyond our expectations.
We ended up seeing all of the big 5 virtually every day and left the safari delighted.
We used Morningstar because of their response time which is really really useful and solved all of our problems (including when we had an issue with my father nearer the time of going). They checked in with us around our visa’s and vaccines as well.
Overall, a fantastic experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

Great Communication and very fair price
When I was looking into Safari bookings I was very scared because the amount of companies that offer these services are incredible, from all the quotes I received Orchid was right on the ballpark of what we were looking for and the prices were not so high compared with other quotes.
Since day 1 Elijah help me to go with the process and solve all my questions eventho we booked almost a year a prior, once the date arrived Elijah, and the CEO of the company were there to greeting us and to introduce to our driver, David, after a short introduction and step by step days a nice gift from their side we were on our way to our adventure.
David was so nice during the whole trip, as we were driving he was giving us details of Kenya making the long drive more interesting, We really appreciate all the help and long hours that David put into this trip, I highly recommend him, he was so nice.
Safaris is mostly luck, we were unlucky to see Kilimanjaro due to cloudy weather,... Read more but we were fortunate to compensate by watching plenty of the animals we wanted to see in the safari, we had cheetahs walking by our side, plenty of elephants and even quite some lions going through many many herbivores hahahaha even the sneaky leopard we manage to see 3 of them in our 6 day safari.
The accommodations were way beyond our expectations, we were hoping to by something similar to a cheap motel in the states but we were so wrong, every place was neat and the staff super friendly, Leopard had selected very good accommodations for us.
If we ever decide to go back to Kenya for sure Leopard Orchid would be in the first call to make.

Nice experience in Kenya
My friend and I had our safari organised by this tour agency from the 6th August till the 16th August: it was our first safari and, overall, we enjoyed it, even though some aspects can be improved. The communication with the agency was really quick and efficient during the all time and our accomodations were good (budget option), except for the first one in Masai Mara, where we spent two nights and both food and bathrooms (scarcely essential and with unstable hot water) were not the best.
Our driver, Newton, was a nice guy and he used to provide adequate explationations during the game drives, but he was not always on time, so the timing in general should be optimized, also considering few but proper stops and the time for meals, and we didn't always feel safe while he was driving, because he was constantly on the phone. A very negative aspect about the organisation is that the driver didn't have his accomodations booked for the night, so it happened twice that we had to leave earlier... Read more from the game drive in order to let him find where to sleep (and of course we agreed to leave because we didn't want him to sleep in the car, but it would have been more appropriate to book it in advance, maybe through the agency, so that we could enjoy the whole day at the park). In addition, during our first game drive in Masai Mara the car broke down twice (at first there was a problem with a bolt of the tyre, which probably wouldn't have happened if there had been a proper check-up before the start of the safari and this inconvenience made us waste more than 1 hour to solve it, while the second time was just a damage in the tyre, which of course can happen and was quickly changed).
Our programme also included a visit to Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha: they are not bad, but I think two days are too many and it's better to skip at least one of them and to have more time for a game drive in a park (Amboseli for example, where we spent just half a day at the end) and when we realised this during the trip, they told us it was too late to change our schedule. I would have liked to spend more time in Masai Mara too, because, even though we were supposed to spend two days of game drive there according to the programme, we actually had one day, since we arrived in the afternoon on the first day and there was only the possibility to visit the Masai village, which we preferred not to do.
So, on balance, I would suggest to see less spots, but to spend more time in the main parks, maybe also providing more packed lunches to be taken in the morning when it's time to change accomodation in order to avoid waisting time in reaching the new place, doing the check-in and having lunch, but going straight to the new park for the game drive and then doing the check-in directly in the evening.
At the end, we went to Diani Beach, where we spent a very nice and relaxing time at our resort. Anyway, apart from the previous points, we had a good time.
