If I could rate this tour 0 stars, I would
1/5

We traveled with Discovery for a 3 day Sossusvlei tour in Namibia. This was hands down the worse tour I've ever been on in my life. Right from the beginning the tour was riddled with problems. There was a cockroach infestation in the truck. We weren't served breakfast or lunch on our first day. After being picked up, we spent 2 hours handling logistics of the tour (signing papers, picking up camping gear for other travelers, stopping for groceries). These were the least of our problems. They set us off on this tour in a car that had terrible mechanical problems. We drove through 6 hours of gravel road on shock absorbers that were not working causing headaches and three blown tires. Our tour guide left us on a stretch of deserted road (in the car) for 2.5 hours to go get help. Definitely not what anyone would want on their vacation.

MOST AMAZING guides, spectactular scenery, loads of animal herds seen up close and personal!
5/5

I went with 10 friends and it was to say the least, a once in a lifetime adventure! The company's owner Praise helped me plan the trip from a far and replied promptly to all my questions/inquiries. He gave us lots of options, with full details prior to booking and we decided on the 2 night, 3 day safari visiting Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park. 7 of my gang opted to sleep over in a campsite and myself and four others choose the luxury accomodations at Gnorongoro Luxury Farmhouse and it was breathtaking! The campers loved their accom too. The safari vehicles were in good shape, the drivers were knowledgable and spoke excellent english, had great senses of humour, were professional, yet fun, adding to our overall experience. Although we were in two separate vehicles, we were able to stick close by each other and get similar experinces and FANTASTIC photographs. We never felt rushed, our boxed lunches were excellent and we had as much bottled water as we needed. I recommemd you take your own pillow to lean against the roof top bars or even to sit on as the days are long and roads are bumpy and my pillow was a Savior! Highly recommend Nyange Adventures and I will book with them again when I bring my family back. Nyange Adventures is more than just safaris, they also provided transportation and guides for our day trip to Mt. Kilimanjaro base camp and back, as well as other tours. Book with Nyange Adventures and you will NOT be disappointed! Praise and his team are top notch and will keep you entertained, safe and well informed about your Tanzanian surroundings! The whole trip would not have been the same experience without them! Stop hesitating, book with Nyange Adventures and you will have the most unique, life long experiences while in Tanzania!

Trip of a lifetime, thoughtful service and help customizing itinerary
5/5

Darren at CompassOdyssey was incredible in helping us plan an 8 night itinerary in Vic Falls and Botswana. We took a standard itinerary then he helped us customize it. The thing that stands out is that we probably sent 100 emails back and forth as well as a few phone calls. Darren was very quick to respond and made sure to answer every question and understand what we wanted. He took every effort to make sure we were taken care of. By the time the trip rolled around, we were completely at ease with all logistics and it made the trip smooth such that we could just enjoy our experience. All the lodges, guides, etc that we worked with on the ground were great and the relationships Darren had with one also got us some perks. Planning a safari is no small feat, but Darren really put us completely at ease and made the whole process enjoyable. I highly recommend Darren and Compass to anyone planning a trip to Botswana, Vic Falls, or elsewhere.

It was an interesting experience.
4/5

The safari trip was really interesting. The bus driver was very nice, he picked up us on time and brought us coffee and snacks. The tour guide who took us to safari was nice too. He tried his best to take us to see as many animals as he could on that day. The only thing I would suggest the company to do was, I wish the company could allow us to pay by a credit card; it was troublesome to find a bank/ ATM if you don't stay in a hotel in downtown. Generally, it was a good experience. I recommend you to travel with Tanzania Mwangaze safari.

Communication, logistic and choice of safari lodges was to our full satisfaction. What more is there to desire?
Many gamedrives, boatsafaries, excellent management and mostly good food and sercvice. Chobe game lodge need to improve service, cooking and undrestanding of international travellers.

Birds and Beast Up Close

We had a marvelous adventure with Wilderness Dawning Safaris.
From the initial contact I made with them, prior to the trip, until our departure in Livingstone, the Safari was conducted in a skilled and organized manner.
The three members of our safari crew Douglas, Bafani, and Keokeditswe (aka K. K.) conducted themselves as professionals and worked as a team. They were friendly and courteous; efficient in preparing, maintaining and moving the camp; and clear and concise with information and insights regarding daily activities.
I am 71 year old fellow with a terminal and debilitation lung disease and I had an absolutely outstanding experience, on the trip of a lifetime, with Wilderness Dawning Safaris.

Fraudulent operator
1/5

I need to make people aware of a major issue and prevent others being ripped off. I have travelled in 80+ countries, and never had an experience like this.

Initial contact: speedy response by Barack to all queries. I booked a gorilla trek plus volcano climb in DRC, and paid the deposit. It then became difficult to get a response to further messages. This was until asking me for a balance payment 2 months before the tour - he said the national park had started calling them 'asking for the money'. They also asked for a scan of my passport, to arrange my DRC visa directly.

However, Virunga Park closed several months ago, due to safety concerns, plus an ongoing ebola health risk. I contacted the park directly - they confirmed they will be closed for at least another 4 months, have not been and will not be taking payments for permits, and nobody can (legally) enter the park.

This company never told me about the closure, and tried to fraudulently obtain funds from me for permits and a tour that can not exist (in addition I have heard no reply about refunding my deposit - surprise surprise). Also, a DRC visa can not be obtained with a passport scan, other documents/photographs are needed to make an application.

Do not give this company you money under any circumstances!
